You need to copy the damage_glass.dds file into your skin folder. You can find this file in the original skin folder or you can get it via cm
At least it worked for me :D
Thanks for that.

Like I said, I didn't really have an idea what I was doing. I just managed to paint the car and it worked...kind of.

Fixed it and reuploaded it:

Imho all configs should be on Github, so updating them would not require downloading the whole track.
Just like I did now:

(also orig. grass is removed again)

(right click link -> "Save as ...")

Note: i posted direct links, bc Github can be lazy and recognizes updates not immediately, but within a day...

Dang, you should remove the old

hey guys I bought the rss gtm pack but both car were without fonts.how can i fix this issue?
That's weird. Did you buy it from RSS?

Their product comes complete with cars, driver, fonts, and texture folders. And very clear instructions on how to install everything.

If you bought this from RSS and it's missing fonts, you should contact RSS.

Good eye, I was more surprised by the Transamerica Pyramid in Monaco!

I'm just poking fun @r3b3ld3, you've said many time it's a very early build and the map is looking really great! Not to mention what you've done with the AI going through those narrow streets this early in the build is really, really impressive work. I for one can't wait to drive it someday!
what is that gauge bottom right?

Hey guys! Can anyone please help me figure out what is causing this flickering thing on Glensheil mountains? It appears from far away and kind of kills the immersion... Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure it's a render problem, due to how close the "snow" object is on top of the "mountain" object, making them to appear like that. If you drive closely to one of the mountain with snow, the flickering stops. I'm afraid the only way to stop that is simply ask for the author to fix it (I'm sure he is already working on it)

Hey everyone!

This is a question for the 3D gurus.

Recently I was tring to convert a track from Automobilista to Assetto Corsa, but I'm having some trouble. I was wondering if someone could help me answering some questions.

The main problem I'm having is translating the shaders from AMS to AC. Is there any way I can maintain the textures and shaders settings when converting?

I tried importing the .gmt files in 3dsimed than converting in the following steps with no good results:
  • 3dsimed3 > kn5 > AC
  • 3dsimed3 > fbx > blender > fbx > KsEditor
  • 3dsimed3 > fbx > KsEditor

I tried following Rainmaker's simple tutorial in 3dsimed too but it didn't help much.

My guess is that there are no way to translate AMS's shaders settings to AC, so I would have to do it manually to every object. Is that correct?

I have the GSC version of the track that Malagoli made some years ago and I fixed some stuff he left aside like pit entries and the road physics, but it lacks loads of side objects that were added in the AMS version, that's mainly the reason behind the conversion, the other track layouts would be easy to do with the AMS version too. But for now those are the problems I'm facing right now.

Thanks in advance!

@mordido

If you export fbx from a gmt with 3dsimed and make all the objects double-sided that doesn't work well, I guess (guess) that's what fails you.

Yes.

@r3b3ld3 I see.. So what would be the best workflow to this specific conversion?

I still want to use blender so I can add the AC objects, fix the pit entries and improve the road mesh.

3ds>fbx>blender>fbx>ksed

I mean maybe you can add the ac objects in 3dsimed but with blender you can tweak some things that work fine in gmotor but are unoptimized for ac´s engine

Hello guys,
I have problem with this skins pack shared here for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 2021 (Assettoland version update ATCK)
Not with RD pack (12 skins) but with skins pack shared here this week (6 skins)
I'm not the only one to have this problem.
Thanks for your help

I got the very same issue, but before installing these 12 skins....Ive deleted the mod installed it again, changes FX settings, but nothing worked for me....Yesterday ive installed these 12 skins, testet the car and everything was fine....I really dont know what it is, but after these skins it went away....Maybe try in ExtraFX activate light bounce.

While we at it, the Reboot Team zolder is really good, for a track that is not ACC convert. It's just update of existing mod, but it's so much better, I hope the hungaroring is similar in this aspects. And I probably just missed the announcement of updated zolder, but I have to share my experience with it, since it surprised me so much.

Thought so. I wasn't losing my mind.

It's been about a while. The usual version is just called "Hong". Will compare both as there are some file differences.
What other tracks that is ported from GRID 1/2? I had two drift tracks as of now.

EDIT: Tried it at night & theres one glaring problem...

...there isn't any lights in the buildings as if everyone in China just abandoned them for no reason lol.

Someone, please, explain to me how two versions of the same mod can be made physically (which files to modify) independent? Through CM I don't get any results 😥😥. Thank you

gmotor "shaders" are similar in some cases and 3dsim tries to fill out what it can, but completely different in others, the patchy grass/terrain for example is a 10 texture material,

albedoRoughA
albedoRoughB
albedoRoughC
albedoRoughD
pattern
mixSpecular
normalA
normalB
splatterMap
splatterOverlayMap

(and depending on the modder any amount of these are used or unused)

no such shader exists in AC.. not even close.. which is why the grass always looks crap when you convert ams tracks, anthing from 60% of the intended look is lost on cenversion, and in this case can neve actually be applied.

Trees are a killer because the engines differ, gmotor uses camera facing trees, so AMS tracks, the trees have to be converted to Y or X plane trees or jsut replaced with new trees.

Outside of that AMS tracks are probably the easiest to convert, the rest is jsut rename and drive typically.

If you're looking to copy a mod/car the easiest way is to just load a car into AC Car Tuner and you can copy the car and it will allow you to have 2 versions of the same car, just call the other a slightly different name. Otherwise you need to re-name files etc. and that can be a pain.

I'm not 100% sure as there are ports from Grid, Shift, Forza and GT and they all have a similar look. But there's Milan, Barcelona, Chicago, Miami, Dubai etc. Most of them are great.

I could never get car tuner working - but if it works for you then that is probably the easiest way. But renaming 6 files isn't too hard either.
CTRL+C / CTRL+H in notepad++ is the quickest way to rename the sound files too
Yeah I was trying a few changes recently and it copies the whole car and any changes you've made. Very easy.

Do you mean how to separate the parent car from the "alternate" version?
You can try this: move the parent car folder on your desktop. Open CM, select the alternate version: now cm says "Parent car is missing". Choose the option "make indipendent" (or something like that) ad here you go. I hope it will work for you 😁
