RMI thank you for the reply. I'm really stuck with this problem I can reply a race straight after the race once I've exited it but any saved races I cannot play, game crashes and the Image I've shown is displayed. cm is version 0.8.2441.39642 (x86) csp is 1.78 preview 5 and I have 1.25 tb free so its not lack of space, I've run integrity check (no change still crashes). Rest of the game plays fine I'm running at 142 frames per second that's from the last session.
A saved replay will no longer work if a car is missing from that replay’s grid. I’m not sure if that’s the case for you but it’s worth looking into.

For me, AC is the vintage sim of my dreams. Actually, with tracks like Fonteny, it's better than my dreams.

Basically, what immerses different people is different. There's no right answer to "this is the most immersive detail" because it's up to the individual, in the same way as any subjective thing. For some it's fidelity in a tyre model nothing else matters, for some it's the realism of graphics. Nothing wrong with either.

But for me, one of the ones that gets me is the setting and location for the tracks as well as the fields. There are several games with believable vintage content but none with the quality and breadth of tracks that, in particular FatAlfie has produced.

For example, just off the top of my head, we have pre-80s versions of:
  • FatAlfie (Fonteny, Thomson, Deutchlandring, Bremgarten, Battenburg ring, Feldbergring)
  • Lilski (Bridgehampton, Riverside)
  • Sergio Loro (Stardust, Watkins Glen, Zandvoort, Rouen, Hockenheim, Norisring, Sudschleife and many more)
  • Reboot Team (Spa, Monaco, Interlagos)
  • Tiago Lima (Longford)
  • Terra21 et al (Le Mans, Imola)
  • @Zwiss (Spielberg/Osterreichring)
  • WilliamTRiker (Fuji, Nurburgring)
  • Tyrone (Sebring)
  • @Italotracks (Napoli)
  • THL (Russelsheim, Gelsenkirchen)
  • Thrashy (Lake Garnett)
  • @GaryUK (Bryar)
  • Jim Lloyd (Donington)
  • @RMi_wood (Keimola - and countless other bits of help on others)
  • Abulzz (Targa Effing Florio!)

And sorry to look the gift horses in the mouth, but so many more in the pipeline! Such as Zwiss' Crystal Palace, Italotracks' Pescara, THL's Tulln and whatever Sergio and FatAlfie may surprise us with.
And not to mention the countless track skins that some people post. How not to find the pepperoni-ac24 Dirt Old Town skin for Fat-Alfie´s Fonteny something fantastic? Really back to basics, the roaring 20´s !!!

For this kind of thing, to value and remember the heritage of motorsport, I opened a time ago a thread in RD for suggestions of lost and forgotten F1 skins, which could be included in AC. If a talented skin maker is interested (because unfortunately I don't have this skill), follow the link: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/looking-for-a-skin-for-lotus-33.246440/

I was wanting to drive an 11th gen Honda Civic Si in AC, but wasn't finding one anywhere. I did find the Civic FE RS by Danzy via this Youtube link so I changed the drivetrain.ini, engine.ini, and power.lut so it's now a 6 speed manual with appropriate power based on Hondata's base dyno sheet. I know, it's nothing like what you amazing people are capable of and it's nowhere near perfect, but it scratches that itch to drive the new Si until someone makes a better version so I thought I'd share in case anyone else is looking for something similar to get them by.

If anyone is aware of an actual 11th gen Civic Si mod, please let me know. Also, I always question if mods I find like the one in the Youtube video are shared with the author's permission so if anyone knows if it wasn't, please let me know so I can delete this post immediately. I couldn't find the author anywhere after spending some time Googling.

Download Link:
danzy_fe_rs (boxcar Si data conversion)

edit:
I failed to mention that it's encrypted so I couldn't change the folder name. It WILL overwrite the danzy_fe_rs version if you have it so make sure you have a backup of it.

Is there any tutorial on SelfLight_Headlights ? Im having trouble locating coordinates for the light source
Open Object Inspector (CSP app), click on the place you want the point of the light to start at (I usually pick the headlight location and work from there) and copy the coordinates under 'car:'. Paste them into POSITION =, cut the x coordinate value (i.e., the 1st value in the 3 coordinates given) and paste that under MIRROR =. From there just play around with the values until it looks how you want it (depending on what point you choose you may need to lower the y value a bit to actually see the light inside the casing).
self.png

so it would look something like this:

[SelfLight_Headlights]
DIRECTION=x,z,y (+'ve y is light pointing with the headlight, -'ve y is light pointing at the headlight)
DIFFUSE_CONCENTRATION= (higher the value the harder the shadow is, 0 - 1)
BIND_TO_HEADLIGHTS=1 (0 means they stay on at all times)
SPOT_SHARPNESS= (light cone sharpness, 0...1)
SPOT= (angle of light cone from source, degrees)
COLOR= (r,g,b,intensity)
SPECULAR_MULT= (controls what happens when light source hits mesh)
RANGE= (light cone range, meters)
POSITION=0, ,
MIRROR=

For the picture above:
POSITION=0 , 0.33 , 1.82
MIRROR=0.709, 0 , 0

You can also open the CSP debug app to actually see the light cone itself, though I'm not sure if there's an option to single out specific lights or if it always shows every light source present

Madcowie actually makes mobile and XBOX games for the UK oval thingies

Good shout, but those don't count, non PC titles. :D

Thank you for the reply. Replay's do not work even if I now run a single car, save it go to play it the game still crashes. I have cleared out all my old saved replay's and started fresh, it still crashes. :grumpy:

Col De Bleine Rally France - rain and grass and vao and so on...

Track can be found here: https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/copia-di-spain-portugal

  • You should be able to copy the files straight into you assetto corsa folder as long as you have the track installed. It will ask to override - backup your track if you want to keep the original files.

  • If the new grass still won't show check your assetto corsa folder: extension/textures/grass_fx. You should have a "highlands.dds" file in there, otherwise no grassFX.

  • Also removed the "gravel dirt effect", seems to be an asphalt rally.

Updated VIR skin\ext_config test: VIR track skin\ext_config V4b test

Notes:
-- More grass color tweaking and added bare spots around most of the kerbs where I felt drivers might cut the corners and kill the grass. Some tree color tweaking as well.
-- Sorry for the file size. Went a little nuts on variations. If you know my past skins, I do love a variety so that the track doesn't always look the same. You can delete whichever variations you don't want. Spring and Fall is pretty much all green except for some brown spots. Early Spring and Fall shows hints of lighter grass but no bare spots. Early Summer starts to show hints of bare spots. Mid Summer has more bare spots, but still some brown\yellow grass. Late Summer has anything not green as bare spots.
-- To keep file size down, I made the trees a separate skin. Just copy all the files from the trees folder into the other skin folders if you don't want to activate multiple skins.
-- Tried hard to get a good color balance between cool and warm. I made a color neutral filter to test with so on my system things look about right. Can't guarantee things won't be too yellow or blue on yours depending on the ppfilter you use.

Hope you enjoy it and please share any critiques...
Any idea why I'm sent to a Google safe browsing page when I click on VIR track skin\ext_config V4b test ?

Sorry, I have no idea why that would happen. I just tested the link on my end and it works fine for me. If you can, try using a different web browser and see what happens. If that doesn't work, I could put it on my google drive account and see if you can get it that way. Just hit me up on PM if I need to do that so we don't clutter up the board.

Thakn you so much!!!! Issue fixed and the car is looking better than ever!!!

next one is ready. This time the Venturi 600LM of the BBA team #57.

Sadly the model of the car is not up to the highest AC standards, but I wanted to have the Venturis on the grid....
Please be gentle on me, I know it is more than rough around the edges :-)
