Hello, guys! I hope this won't be considered spamming the topic and I felt I had to post here and nowhere else.

I specifically registered an account just so I can stop by and thank everyone involved in modding AC as a whole.

I want to sent my heartfelt thanks to Bazza, Breathe, Gutbomb, Zwiss, the Reboot Team, RMi_wood, names I see here and know from RaceDepartment and other placees online, and god knows how many more dozens of people that I can't remember right now.

You have created something extraordinary over the years and keep doing it in the current year. I just felt I had to stop by and post here, as some way of communicating my gratitude to that entire body of talented modders, content creators and listing curators.

For all your passion, work and dedication, and for giving simple consumers like me access to all this amazing content, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Hope that wasn't too sentimental, but I felt I had to let it out! :D
You put into words how most of us feel I think. Good first post! 👍

Hey guys, does someone know why my tyres look like this on the SF15T and the F138? Its only when Tyre FX is on and with only this 2 cars. How can i solve this horrible look of the tyres? Thanx

Updated VIR skin\ext_config test: VIR track skin\ext_config V4b test

Notes:
-- More grass color tweaking and added bare spots around most of the kerbs where I felt drivers might cut the corners and kill the grass. Some tree color tweaking as well.
-- Sorry for the file size. Went a little nuts on variations. If you know my past skins, I do love a variety so that the track doesn't always look the same. You can delete whichever variations you don't want. Spring and Fall is pretty much all green except for some brown spots. Early Spring and Fall shows hints of lighter grass but no bare spots. Early Summer starts to show hints of bare spots. Mid Summer has more bare spots, but still some brown\yellow grass. Late Summer has anything not green as bare spots.
-- To keep file size down, I made the trees a separate skin. Just copy all the files from the trees folder into the other skin folders if you don't want to activate multiple skins.
-- Tried hard to get a good color balance between cool and warm. I made a color neutral filter to test with so on my system things look about right. Can't guarantee things won't be too yellow or blue on yours depending on the ppfilter you use.

Hope you enjoy it and please share any critiques...
Just tested the Mid summer skin. Looks awesome. VIR is definately on the VR list. From the grass to the spectators at the clubhouse... Beautiful. racingjoe013, don't worry about giving me too many options... I can handle 'em! I kept your earlier skins too... waste not :)906-VIR-03.jpg906-VIR-02.jpg906-VIR-01.jpg

Thx for that Peter, I learned a new way of playing w the pp filters because of this...

But my initial question is not answered, as I do not use PP (disabled in in video settings).
So autoexposure in the pp being on or off should make no difference... the super bright tunnels are when NOT using any PP filter.
When I enable PP filter, it's fine in the tunnel , even with Autexposure on (but difficult to maintain perfect stutterfree smooth visuals in VR, hence i like to get perfect visuals without using PP)
You tried Pure already? It has an autoexposure like control even in PP off...

Hello guys. I have a (maybe) weird question.
As we know AC have already almost everything. I mean tons of cars/tracks etc. It's amazing ofc but I think I got lost in it a little.
So the question is what do you guys are doing in AC ? I mean you back from work, want to relax in AC and what cars and tracks combination do you use ? I have a lot of cars and tracks and at the end I usually choose Nordschleife with gt3/gt4 cars cuz on many many different tracks ( fantastic tracks ) driving with AI is just impossible.

I tried to do custom championships with I think interesting cars and tracks combinations but again - AI problems.

Hope u understand what I mean : D

For me, AC is the vintage sim of my dreams. Actually, with tracks like Fonteny, it's better than my dreams.

Basically, what immerses different people is different. There's no right answer to "this is the most immersive detail" because it's up to the individual, in the same way as any subjective thing. For some it's fidelity in a tyre model nothing else matters, for some it's the realism of graphics. Nothing wrong with either.

But for me, one of the ones that gets me is the setting and location for the tracks as well as the fields. There are several games with believable vintage content but none with the quality and breadth of tracks that, in particular FatAlfie has produced.

For example, just off the top of my head, we have pre-80s versions of:
  • FatAlfie (Fonteny, Thomson, Deutchlandring, Bremgarten, Battenburg ring, Feldbergring)
  • Lilski (Bridgehampton, Riverside)
  • Sergio Loro (Stardust, Watkins Glen, Zandvoort, Rouen, Hockenheim, Norisring, Sudschleife and many more)
  • Reboot Team (Spa, Monaco, Interlagos)
  • Tiago Lima (Longford)
  • Terra21 et al (Le Mans, Imola)
  • @Zwiss (Spielberg/Osterreichring)
  • WilliamTRiker (Fuji, Nurburgring)
  • Tyrone (Sebring)
  • @Italotracks (Napoli)
  • THL (Russelsheim, Gelsenkirchen)
  • Thrashy (Lake Garnett)
  • @GaryUK (Bryar)
  • Jim Lloyd (Donington)
  • @RMi_wood (Keimola - and countless other bits of help on others)
  • PatriceCote (Mont Tremblant)
  • Abulzz (Targa Effing Florio!)

And sorry to look the gift horses in the mouth, but so many more in the pipeline! Such as Zwiss' Crystal Palace, Italotracks' Pescara, THL's Tulln and whatever Sergio and FatAlfie may surprise us with.

And then to match those , we have some glorious vintage cars and car sets. Even aside from some of the great Kunos content, we have amazing vintage cars from the likes of Pessio/, Stereo/aphidgod (seriously, that Chinook!) and then the superb ACL packs (particular shout out for the 60s GT cars in the GTC pack) from Bazza/DrDoomsLab and their supporting cast. And there are too many to mention here, so sorry for only selecting a few.

So TLDR, there's nowhere else that would let me run a realistic-feeling, period correct grid of GTs and sportscars, with appropriate liveries and drivers, on period tracks.

And, for me, that's immersion I've never had before.

Sorry, I rambled a bit there.

Couldn't agree more, for the most part I play Assetto for just vintage content as that's all I'm really interested in and it's just the best sim by far in that regard. Just so much content and great thing to be excited for more work in the pipeline by all those mentioned above and more. It's like preservation especially when it comes to recreating historic lost or never completed tracks and to experience a impression of what it is like to race many unobtainable cars for people like ourselves and get to drive them in anger.

Many Many more years ahead of content to be made to add to all this, makes it so exciting and grateful to many in the community which is why i'm still here checking in.

sorry, only idea was that it could be videocard related
RMI thank you for the reply. I'm really stuck with this problem I can reply a race straight after the race once I've exited it but any saved races I cannot play, game crashes and the Image I've shown is displayed. cm is version 0.8.2441.39642 (x86) csp is 1.78 preview 5 and I have 1.25 tb free so its not lack of space, I've run integrity check (no change still crashes). Rest of the game plays fine I'm running at 142 frames per second that's from the last session.

Indeed, this is it in a nutshell.
Much the same as rfactor was/is, AC gives you the opportunity to make games that don't exist.
By that I mean there isn't and won't ever be a stand alone game for anything close to a vintage 1960's era touring cars, or 1980's touring cars.
There certainly won't ever be a Brisca stock car or UK oval classic hot rods stand alone game, or a UK grass track game.
Or a Citroen 2cv series.

This is where you can make AC your own stand alone games, with niche series that will never ever be represented other than if you are lucky as the odd single car in a forza DLC etc.

The only thing it's missing, is like in rfactor where you choose a series and the whole UI changes (if you know what i'm on about you know).

But yes for me this is where it shines and always has, racing stuff that you'll not get anywhere else bar the older titles and where starting out on a converting journey it opens up even more opportunities' for randomness and niche.

There’s a Reboot Team Monaco? I’m always looking for a fresh Monaco.

You tried Pure already? It has an autoexposure like control even in PP off...
yes I installed Pure... and it's gorgeous! But trying to get even lower GPU stress and to get the max smoothness in VR, I was testing with the Controller and Weather scrip back to "Default implementation" (and no longer on Sol 2.2 and Pure).
It is then I encountered thsi bright tunnel syndrome. :)
Instead of image going darker initially when going in a tunnel and then restoring slightly (simulating eyes needing to get used to darkness in the tunnel), the initial brightness stays the same , and then the brightness is intensified when couple seconds in the tunnel (but since brightness never dropped to begin with, the image becomes way too bright).
At least that's my pressumption... maybe part of Pure is still at play even when Weather script is not set to Pure anymore?

No, If Pure is not selected as weather script and non of its code is active.

In short: that AC is (insert your favorite swearword here) good.

Yesssss, it is, even with its little flaws that, for me, are outweighed by everything it has to offer.

Well, it's a combination of AC, CSP, Content Manager, Sol/Pure and the work out countless amazing modders to make it (insert your favourite swearword) good for whatever your chosen niche of racing driving.

Sorry, I know Spielberg as Zeltweg because that's what they originally referred to it as for the World Sportscar Championship rounds. The new circuit is literally about 5-10 minutes away from the old airfield one. Still, I realise that's confusing so will edit the post!
