This is actually the tricky bit.

SQUiR appears to not have an IP license usage agreement with the owners of the original likeness - i.e. Jaguar, GM, Ford etc. And as such if they try enforce a restriction on use they may run afoul of the same IP laws they are trying to use to stop folks from using the models as game assets.

Without an agreement signed and license fees paid to GM, as an example, they (SQUiR) have no right to commercially trade the likeness of the Corvette models or Tahoe models they sell.

Anytime someone loads a 3D file into 3DMax and then renders the file out into a scene they have "changed the model" which is technically in violation of the use agreement - all in all SQUiRs use restrictions would appear to be unenforceable.
Well yes you do have a point, i know he is a licensed artist for Ford so he is find with that but its a very gray area for the other parts of it.

@RC45 - No need to triple post; the Edit and Multi-Quote features work just fine. đź‘Ť
Sorry about that - my Tablet was acting up.

I will put them in one post and you can delete the empty ones left over.

*edit* LOL - you already did. :P

And also for SQUiR models purchased via 3rd party resellers like CGTrader, the license is more defined:

The models are sold as Incorporated Product, that may be used in games, movies etc. As long as the used format attempts to protect the purchased assets form direct access by the games users.

I have purchased many such 3D assets for personal use in games - and I have no worries about releasing the models as part of a mod - I never have but know I could - except for the risk that GM, Ferrari et al might try get me for not paying them LOL

Anyway - to get back on topic, I have a number of models waiting to be adapted to AC - including a couple SUVs :)

Yeah ferrari came down on us hard almost the second we.released our F300 mod and updated the F1 concept. Well it was a little suspious how close it all was so after a bit of digging around we find out some blog pretty much did it, i went on the offensive and they tried to destroy my name. I seriously struggle to dislike people but those bloggers, they need to be put in their place. Voiding 1000 hours of work isnt a nice feeling.

Wait a minute....So you're not a double-double-double-agent? But he's so reputable! You know what really ticks me off. Everyone goes "Oh...that place is so lame. He's such a loser..." but then they know what he's talking about each week, so obviously they're going there and basically supporting the guy. I can honestly say that I haven't been there since maybe a week or so after he did that to you. And it wasn't even necessarily because of that. I was just sick of him crap. He knows he's full of it. He just likes to push buttons and I won't be a part of that. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I don't even think he believes half the stuff he says.

It took serious self restraint not to ruin his life, i could have easily made him lose his job or hired one of my shady friends to engage in digital warfare(take down the site, destroy his pc,mess with his bank accounts, dox etc etc). It was so so tempting but in the end I bailed partly because im a wuss when it comes to anything remotely illegal and attacking back would just put me on his level, im better than that.

Though I did send him a nice email saying if you pull that crap(more colourful language was used but i dont wish to get banned for saying it here) again I will sue, here are the list of things you have done, here is documentation and you would almost certainly lose whether in a few months or a few years you will lose.

I can only hope he gets his act together for his own good else he may cross someone less tame then I am.

You're right. He probably will tick off the wrong person. He could be dox'ed quite easily based on even the limited information I know about him. So I can only imagine what other people who've been in this world much longer than I know about him already. Like I said, I've already removed him from my life - occasionally I laugh at him on RD, but I absolutely refuse to give him the satisfaction of reading anything he ever posts again. I know, I'm sure he's losing sleep over that. But, if everybody else who condemns his behavior would follow through and boycott him it might make him reconsider his childish behavior. Like I said, he is absolutely entitled to hate AC. He is entitled to think it's the worst sim ever made...all that jazz. It's the way that he does it with distortions of the truth and outright lies. Like what happened with you.

If I wrote that my Grandmother tried out AC for the first time last night and passed away 10 minutes later, there would no doubt be a headline, "AC is so horrible it can kill you!" with a screenshot of my post. And he would have technically done nothing "wrong". Those were my words. But there is absolutely no correlation between the two.

Make sure you guys delete all your mod cars, and SFX folders from the stock ones where you had mod sounds as they will be mute when 1.9 hits this evening.

Run a steam integrity check afterwards and replace those files with the stock Kunos ones again đź‘Ť

Interior sounds worth, exterior will not.

Aww crap. I can't remember if I did any sound changes to Kunos cars. I know I was using a few of Fonsecker's sounds before, but I'm 99% sure that was before I reformatted and had to reinstall AC. I don't need to do anything, right? I can just let everything get written over by the update, correct? I mean, if I did make any changes I don't care if I lose them from the update.

Delete the guids in the sounded cars and you are good to go when the update comes.

Pretty sure I have not installed any sound mods. I did install one vehicle (not just skin) which strangely enough was a Porsche. I remember having to execute an app that extracted the car from a "mod" directory that I had to create.

Not sure if that car mod had any sound enhancements over stock. Cant wait to get home and try this out.
And vintage Silverstone!:D

1967 Silverstone is rather.. brutal.... The barriers are close, there is no room for error. Fun :)
I love it! It's not a challenging layout, but it can be. You know? It tempts you to try and push it more and more and then you're in trouble. That's going to be a fun track for medium/lower speed vehicles, I think. Maybe even race cars, who knows?

Wiz
What an awesome track, huh? Lilski does some great work. I can't wait to try it. We haven't had an update in a little while.

Transfagarasan has been updated to 0.8 as well. I spent a good chunk of time driving that yesterday. I've never done the downhill run, only the uphill run which is one of my favorite roads in AC. I need to give the downhill run a chance. It must be quite fast.

Did they said they are going to fix this issue soon?
Is there a way to force interior sounds on exterior cameras?
