Feeling really proud, and thanks again for all the help to Buja, Masscot, Graveltrap, Fanapryde and Norms!

wow your video gave me chills ... absolutely stunning!

you are right to be proud, this is a work of art!

The level of detail , for example the engine shaking when reving... it's beyond words.

only the wipers they need a bit more tlc , as they are they really stand out (in a bad way) compared to the rest.

Instant favorite for me!

Thanks so much for your dedication and for giving this mod to us for free!

In short : No.

Upgrade, well, I don't see why would you, except the G29 maybe. But that's not graphics related ^^

@Rainmaker87 You probably already know that but there is a "TED edits" version of your track, from earlier than the new upgraded one. Graphically it is a bit messed up, but It seems to have new objects on it, Looking pretty decent outside of the coloring, and a slightly more stable AI (same group of various 60's cars I want to BOP : around 10s +/- for his, more like 15s for your's, with a 2/3 sec gap for the top group, which doesn't happen on his).

Did you had a look at it ? I probably wont keep his version after that but maybe something is salvageable.

EDIT : nevermind the AI part, third test on both and results are not significantly different.
Yes I checked this version.

  • You should be able to copy the files straight into you assetto corsa folder as long as you have the track installed. It will ask to override - backup your track if you want to keep the original files.

  • If the new grass still won't show check your assetto corsa folder: extension/textures/grass_fx. You should have a "highlands.dds" file in there, otherwise no grassFX

  • This one includes a track skin to make the grass work.

Hi guys

My current system is as follows, and I generally enjoy a solid 90fps in vr with pretty decent graphics, and shadows and reflections low.

Would I see a noticeable difference upgrading my gpu to a 3080ti? Or would you upgrade another part?

CPU - i7 9700k
GPU - Palit 3070ti 8gb
RAM - 3200 16GB (2 x 8) CL16
Samsung M2 drive
Quest 2 headset (hardwired)
Playseat with G29

Thanks in advance
You have a pretty solid PC right now. Just upgrading to a 3080ti won't give you the performance boost you're expecting. The processor is a little out dated, but won't bottle neck anything on your PC. I would hold off until you're ready for a complete rebuild. I had a similar build with a 10700k / 3090 and I'm sure my settings weren't far from yours. I just recently upgraded to a 13900k / 4090 and it made a huge difference.

This is kind of a rhetorical question, and hopefully not to start another "why can't modders do what I want" debate (since I know I've gone on this tangent before), but this keeps nagging at me as I go through my latest iteration of mod collection and test-driving. I've been thinking about the massive projects I've seen teams developing for earlier-gen sims like rFactor and GTR2 -- stuff that's still ongoing and free-of-charge, like the Brickyard Legends-derived GTG5 collection -- and wondering why this kind of thing isn't more common in AC despite it being a significantly more active title with a much larger modding community. Obviously this level of work is a lot more involved than the easy and common route of slapping some Forza/Shift/GRID/PCARS rips together and BOP'ing them into vague approximations of "close enough" credibility, otherwise there'd be a lot more car mods to choose from on RaceDepartment. But the fact that there are still people out there doing deeply researched and painstakingly recreated mod projects for an increasingly niche playerbase of games running on a nearly 20-year-old engine instead of the vastly more popular Assetto Corsa makes me wonder if the difference between older modding communities and AC's is one of time, effort, and difficulty (building a model with 250k triangles vs. 50k; the depth of isiMotor vs. Kunos's physics), or if it's something else. Maybe there's something about the broader playerbase and the idea of catering to some notion of popular demand that sidelines these labor-of-love historic projects in favor of people cranking out whatever the perceived No Hesi / drifter / hypercar-hypebeast is supposed to be into, but I'm getting kind of discouraged waiting for somebody to finally make a '60s Ferrari Dino sports racer or any of the '70s Le Mans-winning Matra-Simcas, much less a sweeping full-grid overview of a racing series established before most gamers were born.

I came across a couple of mods that I tried out and the car tires spin but the car doesn't go anywhere, at least one of them seems to inch forward.

From Googling a bit, it seems like the radius of the tires are off and I need to change it to fit the model. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do that and find the appropriate values?

I thought I found one and updated the numbers in the tyre.ini manually but oh god it's so much worse

View attachment 1256821
If it's tyres spinning and not moving the (likely) issue is that there is a misspelled .lut in tyres.ini

There seems to be a lot of reports of cars spinning their wheels but not moving recently. I haven't installed it, but is the most recent CSP preview to blame? I remember reading that it enables extended physics by default, which I know breaks some cars (such as my beloved Pessio Ferrari Daytona) in that exact manner.
(Edited to clarify some details)

In the Car Mirrors Configurator console, when you select the monitor option, you have (among others) a tab to change the shader type of the monitor (Disabled, TN, VA and IPS) which (I suposse) try to mimic the images that shows those type of screens.

When "Disabled" is selected, the image of the rearview monitor is like your screenshot; when you select some of the other options, the image looks atenuated, with less bright.

Keep in mind that these options don't work with some mods.
Thank you for your response! For some reason I've never noticed those options before, despite having used that app numerous times.

From the little I can remember:

confront the tyres.ini file with the wheel measures (visible in REPLACE TYRES)

example: 225/20/R19.9
  • first number is tire width in millimiters
  • second is the height from the rim to the very end of the rim, expressed in percentage of the rim width
  • the third (with the R) it's the diameter of the rim in inches (19.9 inches converted to 505.46 millimiters therefore 0.505 meters)

I used https://www.calculator.net/tire-size-calculator.html to obtain the diameters for tyres or rims (just remember to /2 for radiuses)

Hope it helps, worked for me on 4/5 cars last year.
Still having a bit of trouble. I decided to go through my cars and go through make sure my mods are ok and I'm having an issue with the Assetto Garage Audi R8R

I can drive with the 90's tires and the Hard tires , but the Soft tires and the Wet tires are just not working. I don't even see the data for the wet tires in the file, but the soft ones are just not lining up to make it work

Tire replacement says the tires are 300/25/R18 (F) 300/25/R18 (R). I updated the Soft tire measurements to be in line with the working tires and got no results, even if 'replace tyres' is saying the new measurement is all good

I also checked to see what @Short_Circut said regarding misspelled .lut files and it looks in order.

Any ideas? Should I learn to just straight up replace the tires?

EDIT: Reinstalled the mod and it works :|

My Bilsterberg doesn't look as nuclear as yours, but the grass is too bright on mine too.
There was a old config in tracks/loaded, I removed that one and I'm using the config v1.6 from nobody & atrip3.
With latest SOL and SOL_extra PP filter I get this:

View attachment 1256916

Some other PP filters (which I almost never use, as SOL_extra is always active on my system) make the grass a little bit darker (not greener).
I checked and do have version 1.6 of the config so I have no idea why I see such a different looking track. Honestly, it's not worth trying to figure out anymore because I don't know what else to try. I tried different filters, reseting sol\pure, etc. and it still looks basically the same. Different filters do make a small difference but not to where it looks like @slider666 picture. I'll just use my modified version for when I drive\race the track. While not as nice as @slider666 picture, it's good enough.

This is a quite remarkable achievement from someone who was absolutely brand new to modding just a few short weeks ago. The car itself is impressive enough, but what's impressed me more is your willingness to embrace new challenges. Case in point, and just one example of many: I couldn't find a good enough steer.ksanim and shift.ksanim to do the car justice, so you went ahead and learnt how to create them from scratch to fit the cockpit perfectly. Amazing patience and enthusiasm.
Also worth mentioning: no gumroad shopfront, no encryption restrictions, and no arrogant demands about modification permissions.
Just modding done in the original spirit of modding, for the love of modding... which seems to be a rarer and rarer commodity these days.
Bravo @Tummie555. Keep it up sir!

I have the same setup the difference is the RTX3070, I have 32Gb faster RAM and using WMR.
Always check out were your bottleneck is, before upgrading. In my case, ( single player), the GPU is always the bottlenecking btw. Personally I would like to go for something better like the RTX4070 to reduce graphical artifacts, like shimmer and jaggies without loosing the 90fps.

UPDATE 1.01

Couple of replay cams I made for myself for Bilster Berg 2020 Full Course layout. Thought i'd share them. You may need to rename them if you have more cams in the data folder than just the one that came with the track. They might work with the original track as well if you don't have the 2020 version.

WoW Great Mod Congratulation for your 1s mod and thanks for shareit with us

Super!

The Forza model seems to be a standard Opel-GT 1900.

The SD model appears to represent the "Conrero" version that was specially built (with pre LibertyWalk over-fenders and not the more unattractive "street Conrero" version).

Last evening I bumped the HP to 200 to represent this model. Fortunate that I have also an engine for the standard model as well as the proper gearbox/gearsets for it. (most of the Conrero physics will translate)
