Thanks for the update to this track , one of my fav's

Just wish someone would update the track mesh , its just to smooth , the real track looks quite bumpy

If you anyone hasnt tried the track it reminds me of Silverstone , flat and high speed corners , its a lot of fun

Thanks

Pretty clear the break in reflection between lods

And if that wasn't obvious enough,

As mentioned practically it's not super important. Hardly likely to see these things at the regular distance in game. LODS should be included sure (unless the car is ~<100k poly, not really needed), but it's not wrong to say a "quality" version having (unnecessarily) larger texture size and only a single lod. Those aren't meant for racing anyways (unless you like to pointlessly waste resources)

The biggest issue with this is not everyone is aware of how to modify data files (even if it is a simple procedure) and trying to get people to read and apply instructions is a challenge in and of itself. Just look at how many people still are confused about Sol and rain even though on the RD page one of the first things it says is sol does not bring rain
Oh yes, at that distance, ofcourse the visual differences are striking. But like you also said, not hardly likely to be noticed at normal driving distance, so not really an issue is it? Unless the user has LODs disabled or the opposite, set distances really close between switches. In either case then the user is obviously competent to sort out any issues with bad LODs on a car (such as edit data for farther distance etc)

Also regarding this F50, 2 separate cars that are basically the same thing? One somewhat optimised and the other not optimised at all but looks a little better? That little gain in looks can easily be achieved by a skin, so why include a whole new car @Young78 ? Put the bloated textures in a skin folder and name them high quality xxx or something? Also PNG textures, especially large ones, should not be used in a mod, DDS should be used as advised by Kunos themselves, maximum quality can still be kept if so required.

I have not tried this car yet, and I know it never raced irl, but I can imagine there will be some people in AC wanting to race it in large grids, not really sure how it will perform especially with LOD_D being so many objects? D should only be 2 or 3 objects really.

Hi, Does anyone know if there's a helmet model that fits with this DDS files in Assetto Corsa? I think the original helmet model comes from rFactor 2 GP3 mod

Does anyone else have any issues with the 101 Creative Porsche Cup cars from 2004? I can race 30-40 car grids round le mans, but i cant even get a grid of 12 with these cars, im getting 99% cpu warnings, are they a particularly hi-res vehicle? It doesnt matter which circuit, what settings my computer just wont have it.

The car leans heavily into extended physics, the tyres will probably be the cause as they use the new multi ray collision detection.

Hello friends! After receiving a link to Breathe's track listing last time out, i've been filling out my SSD in record pace. 1 track that i have not been able to get is Palm Beach Raceway V1.4, as the link is unfortunately dead, including in Gutbomb's review post, and numerous further google searches result in the same dead links. If anybody has this track for me I'd truly appreciate it

I did the same thing a few weeks ago, couldn’t remember where I’d found it but kept it just in case:

Does your update include, or improve, DaBaeda's update?
as much as they are similar, the neil shaw version is closer to the real track (no offence to Dabaeda intended). In all the years I've been to the track, I've never once seen a balloon or blimp, plus it's billiard table smooth in DaBaeda's version, Neil has give the track a more realistic feel with it being bumpy. Neil being from NZ, has been able to capture the actual feel of the track, that just isn't there with the Dabaeda version, Highlands Motorsport Park versions are the same, though Neil's version only has the one layout, which I hope we can get him to add the extra layouts.

Balloons and blimp can easily be removed, but I have to disagree about the track feel. Both feel the same (DD wheel here) and when you compare the surface.ini files you will see they are identical too.

to me they feel different, and that includes the atmosphere. Through my wheel in same car, they don't have the same feel, Dabaeda's just has something that feels different, like its a track I have never driven before, Neil's has a feel more like the track I have raced on. I cant explain it much better than that, maybe it's the balloons or something throwing the senses out, but the feel just isn't there and it felt like a billiard table to drive on where Neil's didn't. To me, i prefer a track that has the right feel, and neither Dabaeda's Southern NZ tracks feel right to me, having driven on them. No offence meant to Dabaeda at all.

I'm glad you deciphered that, I meant to say, I CAN race 30-40 cars at Le Mans, but only 10 with these cars. I have edited the original message just in case others wanted to give feedback as well. So does that mean I need to upgrade my CPU going forwards? Surely more and more cars will begin to use this multi ray collision system.

1) car setup: could be you have made a setup change on the one track (which then loads always per default as last used setup for that track), and on the other track your car has a default setup still?
2) on one track you drive with extended physics turned off , on the other on ? (if you use presets open them both in Drive tab and see if the checkbox is same for both)
3) the ffb multiplier : I'm not sure it is saved on car , or on combination of track+car ...
make sure you have ffb multiplier % the same on both tracks. (if you didn't do already , assign buttons on the wheel to change the multiplier on the fly... pretty handy!)

Check those 3 cases , otherwise I would not know how to explain it... maybe someone else has a 4th possible road to explore.

same conditions on each track, same car, same FFB, same setup as it was the default setup for the car. That doesn't change the atmosphere that just feels off, but it's all good, I have the Neil Shaw version which Rainmaker did the update for, the dabaeda one went to trash since there was no point keeping them both
