THX for the Rusty Valley update. Now it's running smooth on my system.

EDIT:

Orschwerbleede...*

Andre "f1_edition" Streu gave me permission for overhauling his tracks from the DDR (GDR)! We are now beta testing, release of the gems from the east soon™. Thinking of a part 7 for GPLmania with a special car for the tracks.

Anyway, I found some mods that might be worth checking out:

Honda Civic SiR-II
This might be the best version of the SiR-II that I've seen so far. Nice visuals inside and out, a choice of three rims (steel wheels, stock alloys and rims from the CR-X) and the handling feels pretty good from what little I've tested. It's not fully stock, but the stuff that isn't stock are trivialities like the seats (again from a CR-X) and the headlamps. Also has one of those sun strips on the windshield that were popular back in the day.

S13 Silvia
This is a three-pack and is the only place I've seen the mid-range Q's model instead of just the high-end turbocharged K's. It also includes a tuned version... but I've seen someone completely ruin a pristine S13 Silvia in real life like that, and I have even less interest with that kind of stuff in Assetto Corsa. I haven't tested this pack so I'm not sure how they drive.

Honda NSX-R
Another 3-pack, again including an (in my opinion) extraneous tuned version. Other than that, it includes both an NA1 and NA2 NSX-R. We're already pretty well-covered for NA1 NSX models thanks to the some1 mod, but this is the first NA2 model I've seen with all the CSP bells and whistles. Threw it round Suzuka for a few laps and I really like it - it conveys a sense of speed unlike basically any other car I've tried, which considering it's just a stock NSX is quite something. They are asking for money for this one, so bear that in mind - and the model is encrypted so be warned.
Great find with the Honda Civic SiR-II, I've been waiting for a decent gen 5 Civic for a while. Turns out I'd actually deleted all previous versions in a recent purge, but this one's definitely a keeper.
The model is encrypted but thankfully the driver posture, position and shifting animation are pretty good (can't unsee his invisible wrists though...) and the dark detail-crushing cockpit materials are easily lightened in the config.
Data can be unpacked to tweak the shifting animation timing and increase FFmult too.
Thanks very much for posting it.

it's a pity it's encrypted, in custom showroom it looks terrible if you wanted to make your own skin. Looks ok on track though.
Im not sure why it looks like this in CM showroom when other encrypted models like RSS ones show up fine.

Now the adaptations of the Ford Capri 2600RS/1972 and Ford Capri 2600LV/1973 are a little better (cockpit problems appeared as usual, overlapping of the "imported" panel), at least now the bodies are better (it would be missing to add the extra headlights) , who knows later ( I wouldn't even know how to configure later ).

Now it's time for tests on the track (to know the lap times in Le Mans) after the more detailed modifications in the "DATA" folder and in the "ui.car" file

I'll be sure to try this one, if it's an encrypted one that you are not binning for once, that says alot
please share your tweaks once you've done 'm?

Because these guys don't want EASY to molest their mods. I get it, a necessary evil... But hard encryption ain't for me so these kind of mods just go into the bin.
MNBA do it fine. Encryption, yeh, but at least it is usable in CM otherwise why bother ?

I don't get why Easy and ACTK garage is considered evil...
It's in my opinion a perfect download site for car mods , with nice visuals and mentioning of what's newly added.
Yes, he makes improvements to the cars (don't we do that as well here, and then share them ?
I do get it if you were to say his 'tunes' or updates are done on the same mod (instead of creating a seperate child tune)...
Then again having each car doubled (one the original by the one releasing it, and one improved/tweaked version)... my SSD would explode.
Oh and I recently discovered this: hovering over the preview pic will pop up the changes he made in a tooltip!
(so no need to backup , download and install to check in CM what was done). So that makes it again more easy to decide if you wanna stick to the original or try his mod.)

ps: speaking of overwriting mods , beware of the Supra posted on RD , it overwrites the original Kunos mod...

In fact, Easy and AcTk should just ask the permission or give credits.

Improving the mods is the best of the world, but with the v1.0 , v1.1(modder a), v1.05(modder b), v2 (modder c) we can't have a unified version for all,

thake exmple for the BmW m1, they are all different

I'm guessing you weren't here when Easy would ignore or flat out insult people asking him to remove their mods / remove his name from their mods when he had simply added a (often worse) VAO patch or a few skins from Race Department (without giving credit to their author)?
There are several examples of this.

Or how he would upload other people's mods, without their permission, to his own Sharemods links to make a bit of money for himself?

How about that he repeatedly got a rival (and much longer-running) website taken down for copyright abuse when he himself is doing exactly the same thing?

He disrespects modders and has one goal in mind: Grow his own website to make money from other people's work.

You can go back a couple of hundred pages and see it all for yourself (before he got banned for these practices).

Improvements he doesn't ask the permission for then put his name on the mod as if he was an author and reuploads it on his own website...

It's not evil, it's just being an all around... Can't say the word but you get my idea.

"Improvements"..... as Marneus_boss mentioned with the M1 Procar. I reworked the whole interior and added new self made textures and Pfalzdriver worked with me together and had done an overhaul on the physics. Then EASY grabbed all my work and added it to his M1.... and it was awful and horrible, because he hadn't properly implemented my stuff in his M1. And.... oh wonder... no credits for all the new things he implemented in his M1 wich were all made by me (textures, whole new interior mapping and so on...). After I asked him about his move on his discord, I got banned without comment and blocked by him. Really nice guy.... NOT.

btw. his "improvements" are mostly some copy&paste work, sometimes functionally, sometimes awful... his "improvements" are 10 mins. of work. main thing is, he can add his name to the mods without credits to the modders which worked really on these cars. his page deserves to be blocked.

This is really great. The "dry" version is very close to how I remember it. Thank you.

indeed I wasn't ...

Sorry, I always want to see the good in everything and everyone , and I hate conflict...
I write this as an attempt to understand why such a - in my eyes - good service, gets such negativity thrown at it.)

The part about him having a rival website shut down, if true, I wouldn't know how to rationalize that though.
I could understand the negativity towards him for such a thing (although I could spin it and say I spend too much time as it is already downloading new mods each day, so having to check yet another website would increase my workload ;)

Regarding the earnings:
lets say 10.000 downloads on Sharemods makes him an avg of 20 dollars.
Would he even clear the costs for keeping up his website?

Do I need to ask permission from the owner of a mod , in order to improve on it?
(for instance to create extra skins, swap a better sound or shift animation in , or fix some misalligned digital instrument texts and make the instrument texts more visible by changing the color or brightness)
If so , I did not know that... and I'm also being a dick
Seriously is everybody asking permission from the modders to change stuff in AC to their liking?
By releasing it unencrypted they implicitly give that permission, no?

Regarding not crediting:
He does keep the original authors in there it seems (maybe changed his ways I don't know how it was before).
As recent example he uploaded the reworked version of the F1 I posted here a few days ago,
and he did leave the original authors and credits...

1687939084741.png

( so I think he's still on this forum, under a different username then perhaps)...

He added LODs since the mod had only LOD A... which even if badly done is better then having none at all, right?
And I forgot to repack the data folder into data.acd, after adding TC and he fixed that.

Don't forget the ****** AO. There's always the ****** AO.

I didn't meant it was great his work, I just say that the way the modding community of AC is a mess, everyone make the same car, but without the same base, as we have for exemple the M1 with 2 or 3 differents scales, it's the same for the F1 GTR longtail, no one have the good wheelbase,n and the update don't go on all the other one.
And no one seems to care to have a good version of cars, a unified.

Back in rF1 days, it was the same but less.

It's a pity, Easy is a grabber, a bad grabber. And he win money by stealing mods it's a fact, but a aim to make one mod to rule them all is not a bad one, but very badly executed.

maybe i have a fairytail mind.

I bet that when I release my rework of the Marcos Mantis and Gillet Vertigo, it won't be 24 hours and there will be a "new" version of these vehicles on his page. 🤪
you can be sure it will, a new version with "new ui data" and that some ***** like that. but sadly you can't stop him.

this is the problem, everyone wants their own custom version , already that irl there are differences between the asian, europe, usa, england versions
then the big problem is the imcomplete car packs of a same championship, with too much difference between them , we could be much stronger together if everyone united by putting all the mods free, not private and not just encrypt on the donation system, but so is the world (capitalist and egoist)

that my cars are stolen, I don't care !! do what you want ...

Any idea what factor might be causing issues with certain cars struggling in low grip situations? I'm running Pessio's historic cars (Mini, Mustang, Ferrari, Capri), if I make a "wet" version of a circuit and lower the grip levels in the surfaces file some of those cars deal with it fine. Some like the Capri drive round in first gear revving the nuts off the engine. Would it just be case of swapping out the tire files?

In my mind with only "paid quality" mod, such as RSS, VRC, URD, alongside the Kunos Car roster, the car list is already mega!
You add some kunos modified like the 488 gte, c7r evo, 2018 911 rsr. the grid are quite full , even if not complete.

with balancing you can have a pretty full game.

yes sadly everyone think they can do better than the guy nextdoor so they do a v1.05 etc.

Hi yall, recently I took some time and collected a lot of technical data for cars from various brands, in case you ever wanted to make a stock vehicle, and I put together a spreadsheet where you can find what you want/need in one central place.

It's pretty barren at the moment, with only a handful brands and model, but I'll try and add more data later on in the future.
If you have suggestions or you have some car data that I don't have, feel free to reply to this, or shoot me an inbox!

Costs? I have a private server myself at which our races in AC are done. This thingy has two cores, 10GB space and is enough to run ACSM, the server and some tools. Why? Because you only need a potatoe to run AC server client. €2,50 each month, so basicly one beer less each month at my local pub. Hmm? I should prioritise more. :D

And for sure he doesnt need more. TK-Domains you get for free and all the files are hosted at external storage services, so no space is required. So basicly there are no real costs. :)

Sharing a mod? Host it on GTPlanet Downloads. Free, public hosting for files up to 10GB in size.
