Hi yall, recently I took some time and collected a lot of technical data for cars from various brands, in case you ever wanted to make a stock vehicle, and I put together a spreadsheet where you can find what you want/need in one central place.

It's pretty barren at the moment, with only a handful brands and model, but I'll try and add more data later on in the future.
If you have suggestions or you have some car data that I don't have, feel free to reply to this, or shoot me an inbox!

thank you mate,

you have looooot of homologuation sheets on the fia site, for road and race car, with lot of mechincal details

Great find with the Honda Civic SiR-II, I've been waiting for a decent gen 5 Civic for a while. Turns out I'd actually deleted all previous versions in a recent purge, but this one's definitely a keeper.
The model is encrypted but thankfully the driver posture, position and shifting animation are pretty good (can't unsee his invisible wrists though...) and the dark detail-crushing cockpit materials are easily lightened in the config.
Data can be unpacked to tweak the shifting animation timing and increase FFmult too.
Thanks very much for posting it.
I'm pleased to hear that you like it! I'd been on the search for a good mod of that Civic for a while myself, but all the ones I had hitherto found were a bit ropey.

For the other folks, I do wish the model wasn't encrypted (at least not in such an awkward way) but that seems to be the way these things are going. If you want to make preview shots though, there is a kind of workaround: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/preview-as-a-photomode-location.59498/

I've had pretty good experiences using this method, and the bonus is since it loads into the game, all the nice CSP visual effects get applied to the model. Here's an example:

I'm considering either doing it indivdually (most likely not) or making a seperate row in the sheets that has links to sites that has a lot of data like the FIA homologation site.

I'm also considering allowing other people to volunteer and add the data themselves when I'm offline as well. (If anyone does want to btw, reply to the thread)

I like your track updates, but just one thing: could you please include the original road meshes with all the updates? Fortunately this one has the original road mesh, because these smoothed pooltable surfaces are just terrible.

THX for the Rusty Valley update. Now it's running smooth on my system.

Andre "f1_edition" Streu gave me permission for overhauling his tracks from the DDR (GDR)! We are now beta testing, release of the gems from the east soon™. Thinking of a part 7 for GPLmania with a special car for the tracks.

I too feel your pain, i cant stand perfectly flat surfaces, HOWEVER, you can add some noise to your wheel. Go into the data folder, then find the surfaces.ini file and where it says ROAD add something along these lines...

VIBRATION_GAIN=0.098
VIBRATION_LENGTH=1.15

Its canned, but its the best you can do in this situation.

here is a civic with a proper vtec sound (i have owned 3 b16's and 1 h22 conversion) and can clarify this is the correct sound for the car. the car being in the game made me happy the sound in the game made me even happier

its a full car so if anyone wants to use the sound just swap it over in CM as everytime i change sounds over without CM.......it doesn't end well

I don't often write here because when I see this war between modders it makes me want to vomit, you download a mod you don't like, you delete it and you move on to something else, peace en love, by the way I keep quite a few mods from ACTK for adding LODs which allows me to have many more cars in play on my modest machine. not everyone has a nuclear power plant at home to run 24 cars that exceed 1 million polygons when not at all optimized

Relax, no need to empty your stomach. The never ending debate is about the way he does it, not about what he does. There are 2 sides on the coin, on one hand he provide a well structured and well archived list of cars (having 100% control on the links is actually a quality as a website, in my opinion), with a few updates here and there when it's a basic missing thing (basic lods, for exemple). It is a good source of content, whatever you may think. On the other hand, he has quite the tendency to take and put his signature on what's not his, with a few examples in the past of some pretty nasty moves (and still recently, apparently). The "noble" way isn't exactly a priority, you see. In his defense, I see more and more author's name on his shares instead of nothing or just his own, which is a start. So many blogs and websites just put "unknown" or litterally nothing out of laziness when they would just have to look at the readme file to find the author's name... Duhh!

Anyway, I personally hold nothing against him. I like what he does, I don't like how he does it. But at least he doesn't encrypt. 5/10, can do better, could be much worse.

for adding LODs which allows me to have many more cars in play on my modest machine
I guess noone would complain if he ads LODs to a car which has none. That would be either a very old car or a car done by someone who gives a rats ass. But adding LODs with more vertices outside of the Kunos specs to cars with LODs already created nearly by the book, just for increasing the version number and putting his name into the credits, makes my blood pressure rise. Why did I wrote "nearly"? I usually use another distance for B, C and D because it looks way better in replays. That was my decision based on reasons and not his to change.

Or adding skins, created by other people too, which requires a new version number and his credits for sure. For example, for every GT2 of the GM I have a least five or six extra skins. I should increase the version number and put them online. Marcel, Timo and Imma would kick my butt very hard.

I can only speak for myself, I have absolutely no problem with the fact he's making a smal buck with MY work. As long as he doesnt change anything, he can host MY work at as many hoster he likes. But that is just my opinion.

hmmm ... contrary to what was said here about RD removing posts of altered copyrighted stuff, the Supra which overwrites the original Kunos (JP) mod is still not taken down ... it's been online since Saturday!

So maybe the criteria are different ? Anyway , be aware and make a backup before (and if) you try it!

I've updated my simple conversion guide. Now there is a extension file for CSP related fixes with short explanations what it does.

Further to recent posts, the original modder stated that the pack was "unencrypted, feel free to use it for whatever you want, I don't care".
So here's all 16 cars updated to 1.26m, complete download, with original credits intact and:
  • LODs added, specific for each car to include different body kits and spoilers, roll cages, deleted seats etc. CM/Simplygon generated, so not as good as hand-built but certainly better than nothing.
  • All cockpit glass changed to now allow shadow-casting light in, which makes a huge difference to the ambience and immersion in the cockpits when driving.
  • Race suits/gloves/helmets added by config to every skin.
  • Shifting animation adjusted for a more natural action.

It'd be good if the texture mapping on the dashboard could be improved, especially in front of the passenger seat. Hopefully the original modder will continue to develop these cars.

Sharemods used not to make pennies, but for permanent hosting and to avoid 'yo fam reup plz' begging from drive-by posters in three months time.
Edit: forgot about the new GTP hosting service...

The original mod has been updated to version 1.27. Has he implemented your updates?

The moderators there seem to take a "hands-off" approach to AC content if it is stolen or making use of copyrighted material. A lot of exceptions have been made for the AC community over the years. They also don't seem to apply or understand their own rules in other sections from discussions I've had with them over the years. Practically begging for someone with money to sue them one day.

Hey boys

Quick question: does anyone ever did (and if not, want to do) a skin for Eddie Keizan´s Lotus 72? I know that some time ago someone did a SA skinpack for the 1975 F1 season - and I have it. But this one would be for 1974 version/skin of the car.

I believe it´s the only missing Lotus 72 skin for AC.

This happened to me once, with KS Monza. What caused it was a 3rd-party skin, which broke the original kunos asphalt texture. I had to delete all custom skins of the track to make it work again properly.

But since you said you're using only the kunos track, with nothing, I don't have any idea of what could be the cause.
Thanks!

I was under the impression that these two tracks were original.
After a closer look I noticed they weren't. Even my backup wasn't.
I reinstalled AC on another location, copied the two tracks and all is right with the world again!
