Meh, the sounds on that mod NSX isn't that great anyway. Someone should convert the sounds from Niels rFactor NSX to this. Now that's how a real NSX should sound

In the meantime, any Ferrari V12 should do the job nicely if you want to swap. As a thumb rule, engines with cylinders that are multiples of each other should sound reasonably similar. For example, V6 is similar to V12, V4 is similar to V8, I5 is similar to V10, etc.

What a nice wheel he has! Looks a teeny bit smoother than my DFGT. Tiago Lima converted some very small/short tracks a while back. I think several are Asian, if I'm not mistaken. I always tend to over drive on them. No matter how much I tell myself to just keep it smooth - like in that video you posted - I tend to put down too much throttle and next thing I know...

Guys, the S800 RSC and the Shanghai Tianma Circuit are worth the download?
The Honda S800 RSC? Absolutely!!

The track? I would have said no if you asked me the first day or two I had it in my list of tracks. It's a very technical track if you drive anything powerful on it - like a modern sports car. I don't even know if I would enjoy driving actual race cars, like GT3's, on this track. The author has done a great job making this circuit. You can tell he put in a lot of effort. So, I say go for it!

Thanks for the answer! Well I actually love small technical tracks, so I guess I'll have two extra mods to my collection!

I downloaded content manager today to see what all the fuss was about. I like it, so I donated. I was worried that it would be a pain to set up with Simvibe but it was a piece of cake, so now I'll be using content manager as opposed to the regular UI.

I have a question though, and I've sent this in an email to the developer too.

Because I have a sequential shifter that I sometimes like to use for certain cars, and also a BMW rim and Formula rim that have completely different button mappings that I swap between, I've made multiple control profiles for the equipment I want to use. For instance, one labelled 'GT rim with Shifter', one labelled 'GT rim with Paddles' and another labelled 'Formula rim'.

That works fine, I just have to remember to go in to the control settings and choose the profile I want for the car I'm driving.

I want to know however if there is any functionality within Content Manager to set a default control profile and then a different one per car if you want that car to have different controls. This would automate the process.

iRacing has a similar functionality. You have your default control setup, but then in the settings for each car you can tick the box saying 'Use custom controls for this car' and then you can select a different shifter, button layout, whatever you want. It's handy as you don't have to remember to swap to your different control settings when you drive a different car.

So, is there an option for this? If not, hopefully it can be implemented one day.

Not sure if it's an option, but I'd love this. Hopefully he can make it work (if it isn't already included).

@Punknoodle . It is not there at this point in time, but I would also use it, even though switching set up in CM in only a few clicks away.

The moddable aspect of Assetto Corsa is rarely mentioned when some one is comparing SIM, but to me, with the superior driving/FFB, it is the strongest feature.

Yes Kunos is a small team but the community is huge and very active, adding features and content literally every day!

@Punknoodle - Hmmm I can't help you with that one, but if you ask that question in the official support thread I'll bet you get the answer you're looking for:

http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/content-manager-aka-alternative-launcher.33824/

There are some very helpful people who are around just about every day in that thread answering questions.

EDIT: Oops. It looks like I was beaten to it...someone answered it in here! 👍 Still, thats a good thread to subscribe to especially since new features are popping into CM all the time.

The latest development on how to browse multi player is outstanding!
Does CM update automatically?

I don't think so. You should see a green arrow, I think it is, next to the minimize button when there is an update available. If you go into Settings > Content Manager > General there is an option to change the frequency of checking for updates. Default is "On startup only". I don't need it checking every 30 minutes for god's sake. LOL

There is also an option called "Testing Access" to Update to non-tested versions. I'm sure that's like beta versions that haven't been fully vetted.

Does Pure's MX-5 mod not work anymore? It seems to be the only car mod I have that always crashes the game back to the menus.. No matter the track chosen, etc..

Nope. It's supposedly becoming official content so it probably won't be getting any more updates either.

This thing is a lot of fun! I can't complete a single clean lap...but it's fun!

I'm trying to put together a grid of old classics that are BoP'd fairly but when you spin out all the time it kind of hurts the laptime!:banghead: James Bond I am not.

The suspense is killing me!! :nervous: :nervous:

I've just been cleaning out my AC mods. It's so sad that a lot of old cars don't work anymore. Most of them don't have sounds in exterior view and missing downshift sounds. Still drivable, just annoying. A few don't even work at all and crashes into the main screen when you try to enter a track. Like the hilarious Reliant Robin mod which can't be used anymore :(

A few cars I manage to fix by adding 7.png and 8.png into the textures/flames file. But others don't work even with this fix. Sooo annoying. I wish Kunos would have kept backwards compatibility even when they update the physics engine. Surely they are not that different with each update? It's one thing to say the game is moddable, but in reality every update renders 50% of those mods useless.

I understand your frustration. I'm pretty ticked off about some of the mods needing their sounds fixed too. To say that every update breaks even a single mod is disingenuous. I bought Assetto Corsa in October 2015. In that time there have been two updates that broke* mods. There could have been others before then, I wouldn't know since I didn't have the game yet. I believe it was November or December 2015 when an update did something to the mods (I was so new I didn't fully understand what it was) and then it was the v1.9 update because of FMOD changes.

*When I say broke, I generally mean the sounds either stopped working or partially stopped working.

That's twice and we've had several updates in between those instances and we've already had a couple of updates since the last "break" of mods. Plus, the only reason they're breaking mods is because many modders don't want to keep their mods current. The game gets improved, and the modders could easily update their mod - the same way that Kunos has to update 100 cars! Modders choose not to.

It's the same thing with Tire Models. Look at how many mods are on tire model 7 or even lower! Heck, I think I came across one that was TM5 the other day. That was deleted immediately. Also, a very large percentage of user created mods were made with very lazy sound creation, ie. they re-used the sounds from an existing car. Hey, it's better than nothing. Who am I to judge? So, I have no problem with taking 15 seconds to "fix" broken sounds in Content Manager.

Finally, I can't believe out of all cars this is the car you're upset about not being able to use anymore:

Is someone going to be screaming bloody murder over the Flintstone mod not working?

@ALB123 what would be nice is to be able to update tires like we do sound in content manager. The latest version of the tires is a great step in the right direction!
I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, I'm planning on asking in the official forums just how modders go about doing that. If it's just some changes in the data.acd file (or data folder for people who didn't pack together a data.acd file) I'm sure I could do it no problem. I can't see why it would be contained within the car's .kn5 file.

It's ok if it's just sound, as the cockpit view is still unaffected. And you can replace it with another car as you said. More problematic if the game can't load the car at all.

I don't know how AC's physics engine works, but it's a bit unwieldy if for every update Kunos has to update all 100 cars (and more will come in the future). That can't be good for productivity. What I had in mind is every car has a physics file that is set in stone (the car's data isn't going to change is it), but how the physics engine interprets it change. When Kunos updates the engine, there will be no need to update the cars because it's automatically applied from a higher level (if that makes sense). Sounds are a bit more complicated and I can sort of understand if it can't be fixed automatically.

Haha the Reliant is just an example I have off the top of my head. There are a few other cars but they're no big loss, or they are not so good in quality anyway. The Reliant may be a crap can but it's hella lot of fun. It's one of those cars where you bust out when your friends come along to get them into simracing, just because it's so weird and anyone can have fun without being good at the game. The Blue Falcon from F-Zero is another one that's broken :(
