Ps: Steam winter sales 2016 starts in less than 1 hour, so you can buy some cheap games.

I'm trying to keep my mind away from it and you guys are doing the perfect job of not helping. :P

Seriously now, I barely have time to play nowadays (2 hours per week, at best), so such a move would be silly.

Give me a couple of years - for my 2-year-old to grow a bit and for my current PC to be outdated - and I'm all for it. :) 👍

How often do you get to play, with two small kids around?
With permission of the misses i can mostly get an hour or two in during weekdays after the small hooligans go to bed.
And in the weekends I stay up late after everyone is in bed.

Mancave would be perfect for a quick half hour whenever the opportunity arises, but i need to set everything up in the living room so that's why i have become a 'night rider'.

6 to 7 hours of sleep is enough for me 👍

I'm in the same situation, and it really limits things.

I also play at night, during weekdays, after everyone's gone to sleep and all the house duties are done. I usually get away with doing 1 hour stints, 2 times a week (I also have to setup everything).

Weekends are a no-no for me. 👎

Wheelstand Pro helps, just fold it up and put it next to the seat.

K.I.T.T, I need you buddy! Some guy on the interwebs is saying NFS Shift is the only true sim and I must punch him!!

Best gif ever
David Hasselhoff is such a convincing actor.

Best GPS ever! I had one of these for a couple years, it's voiced by the actual guy who did K.I.T.T.'s voice and your car on the map is a black t-top.

You seriously had that GPS unit? That's awesome...

I think I would intentionally drive off a cliff if I had to hear that voice for a 20 minute drive.:D

I remember these popping up about a year ago, seem to remember some drama about them being ripped and not of great quality. Have you tried the new ones, and if so are they any good? These are exactly the kinds of cars I highly desire in a sim, even if they're ripped. I have the other ACL pack (though I haven't got the newest update yet) and thought they were decent.
I think I know what you're talking about.

I thought I already had an AC Legends car pack installed and it turns out I did. The cars are different and my pack has the cars on TM6! So, of course the exterior sounds are broken (EDIT: I just found this entire pack fixed for v1.9.3 sound, meaning the new FMod - downloading now)(interior work fine)...but I'm sure we could use the sounds from this pack to fix the older pack's cars. The contents are:

BMW CSL 3.5
Corvette 1969
Ferrari 365GTB S3
Ford Capri RS3100
Mercury Cougar
Missam GT-R 2000
Porsche RSR 74
Shelby Daytona
Detomaso Pantera

I also have a Trans-Am (Vintage Racing) car pack with working sounds on TM7:

AMC Javelin 1971
Camaro 1969
Camaro 1970
Mercury Cougar 1968
Opel Commodore 1970
Plymouth AAR Cuda 1970
Firebird 1970
XB Pursuit Special (Australian car??)

The AC Legends Pack released today is obviously the best. Oddly, I think the last cars I listed are probably the lowest quality, yet the sounds work and they are on a new TM - so go figure. Maybe different 3D artists... I've been enjoying the heck out of the new Legends Pack. 👍

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to add. I also have a Ferrari 330 P4 from AC Legends - I'm not sure if it belongs to yet another pack...I'll have to look into it.

There was a Mustang Boss in the original trans am vintage racing pack, I would not mind getting it, I still have the old one, but it does not load in game any more, I tried all my tricks, I usually get them going, but this one stomped me!

On the ac legend pack, the RST, the BMW and one other are on a different scale ( bigger) than the rest of the pack and than all other car in AC, have you noticed?

The Ferrari 330 P4 is gorgeous in VR.

Where do I get ac legends pack?

And on thanksgiving I bought Alienware alpha just for assetto corsa. Now I have two year subscription to iracing, all assetto Porsche packs, about to get rfactoe 2, and a wife ready to divorce me for neglecting her. Life has never been better!

I know the exact Mustang you're talking about. Same deal here...I've tried every freakin' thing I know and I can't get it to load to the track. It errors out and it doesn't give the old aero error or any mismatched filename errors. It's got me stumped.

However. I found a Boss 302 for you. It's a work-in-progress based on the file name (Release Candidate 1). The wheels are terrible. It's not the highest quality car, but it works - sound is working 100% (inside & outside). I'm sure you could change the wheels with a few image files...these babies are not pretty:

Has anyone tried any of those 3 cars I posted? I'm just trying to get feedback on whether you think they're good. Okay. Not so great. Or terrible. I have nothing to do with the creation and I don't know the people who are -- I'm just curious as to what people think about them... The Carrera GT, Aventador J & Ferrari 330 P4. It's the 330 P4 from AC Legends...So I know @Cote Dazur thinks it looks good in VR. I'm curious about physics/driving feel of the others.

Wait a minute. I must be losing my mind. The new AC Legends pack has the Boss 302 in it. Tire Model 10 - Sounds 100%. What the heck was I thinking?! This one doesn't have awful rims either.. 👍

I am looking for the NSX mod, the one on race department as been abandoned and does not even load into the game, anyone with a link to an updated version?

Oh gimme a minute. I'm certain I have it....but the sound is probably broken because of the FMod update. Lemme check.

Ok...I was experiencing the crashing too. How odd. I assumed the sounds would work in the cockpit, like most mod cars that haven't been updated to the new FMOD, but the external sounds - like when you watch a replay - would all be broken and you wouldn't hear a peep. But crashing? WTF?!

Luckily, I fixed it. I found a solution...the solution? You're going to laugh. I'm sure you checked the log.txt file and scratched your head as I did. But, I noticed something was amiss so I took a shot in the dark and now the car doesn't crash. It loads to the track just fine.

Go into just about any mod car's folder. I used the nice Honda s800 because it's folder name is at the top of my cars directory - a3dr_honda_s800

You should see a folder called "texture". Inside that folder is another folder called "flames" but no files. In the folder called flames you should see two files 7.png and 8.png (if they don't have 7 & 8 look for another mod car, most do).

Go back into the main directory for that mod car - a3dr_honda_s800 and highlight the folder called "texture". Right-Click > Copy.

Go into the main directory of the broken NSX which should be called, "honda_nsx". Right-Click > Paste - the folder called "texture" should now be in the root folder of the NSX mod car.

That's it.

Are you freakin' kidding me? THAT crashes the entire car?! Apparently so. You can't copy the folder "texture" from a Kunos car because theirs have empty "flames" folders inside. It's gotta be a mod car and it needs both 7.png & 8.png...

You will now be faced with the broken audio problem. You can drive around in cockpit view and listen to the engine rev and the other noises that are internal to the nsx audio experience. However, something is wrong with even the engine sound. It sounds crappy. You will get no sound on watching Replays unless you only watch them in cockpit view - you can't use the track cameras and such.

So, the solution is Content Manager. You have to copy the existing sounds from one car onto the 4 Honda NSX's (if you want all 4 to have sound, that is)...I can't think of a car off the top of my head that has a similar sound to the Honda NSX or the Honda NSX-R. I'm sure we've gotta have one. Another Japanese car will probably be closest. I don't know if the Nissan R34 Skyline has a similar sound...I've only driven it a couple of times, months ago. It probably doesn't sound similar.

If anyone can think of a car that sounds similar to the Honda/Acura NSX's (1st Generation), please let me know in this thread. I hope everyone can understand my solution to the broken NSX. And hopefully the author(s) will fix the sound files soon.

I posted this "solution" on Race Department & Official Forums. I really freakin' hope they do update the sounds. No one is asking for new recordings/samples or whatever...I might be talking out of my butt here, but I can't imagine it's that hard to import an older FMOD project into the newer version and build a new .bank file. I mean, they put a lot of work into those mods....I would think they'd want 'em to stay alive. It was very well received. I loved drive that car.

Let me know if you come across a car that you think sounds suitable to use as temporary sounds.
