Has anyone installed the Nissan GTR GT500? I've been trying some different suspension & damper adjustments - do you have any suggestions for adjustments on a track like Nordschleife? I tend to clip curbs... I don't know if I should leave damper rod length where it's at and just soften dampers a touch. This stuff drives me nuts. I never mess with the travel range or packer rate. That would just make my head explode. I just need the car to be a little softer to accommodate my terrible driving. I know it's better that I fix my curb hopping...I'm trying. It doesn't help that they put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car! :P

Oh, I was making small adjustments to bump & rebound but leaving Fast Bump/Fast Rebound alone. Then I was reading that I should probably be adjusting Fast Bump/Fast Rebound instead. Anyway, if you've driven this car on the Nordschleife or somewhere else that might be a little bumpy, a couple of suggestions would be appreciated. For the most part, I like the way the car drives in its default setup. It's not super aggressive which is good for someone like me.

EDIT: If you have any fearing suggestions...don't be shy! :D

If you need just a 'touch' softer, lower the 'packers' to the minimum, especially if you're running a relatively light fuel load.

Also, where can you get the GT500?, I'd like to try it this weekend if I find time.

Ahhh sweet! See...Never in a million years would I have even considered adjusting the Packers. I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I really like what i see, looking forward to test it myself.

Hopefully it does release to the masses. If you notice it says "will need authors' quality approval before release". If I'm not mistaken there was already one group that got turned down on the Targa Florio conversion. It was quite a while back - this was when the Mods section was alive & well on the Official Forums. I might be thinking of the Isle of Man map...can't remember. :banghead:

I have a mod of it for AC, parts of it are ok but stuff in the far distance like mountains has some serious graphical issues that are bad enough to make it unpalatable. I watched about five minutes of the video and didn't see any of those issues so that's promising.

Yeah...I have a version of it too backed up somewhere -- probably the same one you're talking about. What I saw in that video is definitely a lot better than what I had installed.

I tried TRANSFAGARASAN / DN7C / (Romania) from SIm traxx and i really like it. It's still beta and little things like the track map are still missing but it has a big potential.

Hmmm Did you download it from Race Department? I think the most recent version is 0.8 -- I'm 99% sure I have a track map with mine. Well, I should say I'm 99% sure I have a map for the uphill portion. I've never attempted the downhill. I'll check mine later -- if I'm correct, I'll get you the track map. That's one of my favorite roads. Challenging - high speed in sections - technical in others...kind of like Nordschleife's older bigger cousin.. I like the Ring better, but I still LOVE that Transfagarasan road. :)

Just checked it, but no track map in both up and downhill. I downloaded it from RD version 0.8.

I can't tell you how many times I've wrecked at that same exact spot. It's the first section after a long while of twisties where you can really open it up. I thought I had slowed enough to make it, but the laws of physics had other ideas. I'd bet that at least 80% of my DQ'ed laps are because of royal messing up this same section...over and over.

There is a fairly newer mod on Race Department (I think less than a month) called Forli Ring. I had never heard of it, but I've really been enjoying the layout. You can't race or track day it yet...I tried yesterday. Loaded up like 35 AI drivers and they all try to do 90 degrees from their pit box and then ram straight into the wall dividing the pits from the track... It looked like a suicide festival. ::sigh:: I really should learn how to do my own AI lines as well.

Nice timelapse of F1 cars (mods):

I like taking that Ferrari 312T out for a spin. The size difference in tires cracks me up. Do you know why they used such small tires in the front for those generation vehicles? I downloaded the same era mod cars by McLaren so I could have a little variety on the track. The McLaren M23 & the M23-5. Those are fun too. The Ferrari is a little more powerful overall, I think. I never did a true test.

I like the 60s & 70s open-wheel cars, but that's it! No 1980s or new for this guy.:nervous:

Don't forget the Lotus. Good question about those small front wheels. Wouldn't know actually.

Good call! I did forget. Thank you...I'm adding it to my custom Content Manager preset (RACE - Old F1 Only) so, whenever I'm in the mood I can just load the preset and hit Go! I love Content Manager. It's been a godsend!
I was talking about it with Brandon yesterday, so far i discovered that you can update mod cars avatars in the garage but i have to delve deeper into all the other possibilities.

Any more features that you use in CM that I should know about?

I have been using it for awhile as well and it seems every week I discover some new fonctionality in Content Manager that makes it even more indispensable.
