When I remember correctly, you have to start from the pits to have a correct laptime - like with many Rally-P2P races.
That makes the timer count during the track, but doesn't save it. It's weird.
I'm guessing one of the problems is related to where the timer starts. Not sure about the other.

Are there capital letters in the track or car folder name? IIRC that can cause issues with laptimes not saving. No idea if thats still an issue or not

I tried this track today for the first time, and I wonder if there has been any fixes after the release?

What I noticed was that you don't have to care about the chicanes at all, you can just drive full throttle past them using any route you can - as long as you stay on the tarmac.
I tried this with 84-87 layout and 92-96 layout, same thing with both and I didn't care anymore whether the 88-91 layout works better or not.

Hmm, you may be on to something. Has capital letters and a ".". I wonder if that's it. I'll try renaming the folder (and I think I also need to rename the kn5, right?).

Not sure, folder name might be enough
Hmm, tried both but no luck. Neither time nor distance are being recorded.
I found a post from a while ago saying that AI lines are needed for this, but they appear to be present, so that shouldn't be an issue either (unless there's a problem with'em).

Go on, you know you want to do the rest of them.
I can do the variant to the one i just done with the bit of green on the back e.t.c i will tackle that in a day or 2 i forgot about it tbh.

The rest i may have a crack at but some are going to be potentially a little more in depth and i can see some being a fair amount of work, any logo that goes over a peice on the rear lower quarter panel will be the bit to look out for due to the angle it's at and if i remember correctly the mapping was a bit off on that bit its do-able anything is to a point the overall mapping is good ive enjoyed it. I will say whoever did these skins i no there "fake" but there is nothing fake about the quality and over all finish there done very well indeed, above my pay grade thats for sure. I need a day or 2 away from paint.net 🤣

edit i remembered incorrectly there is nothing wrong with the mapping really i dont know why i thought that, so yeh may tackle the rest soon

@DaWallace thanks for the Viper, it's an absolute beast. I think I missed the release during my spell on the naughty step.

Had a v1.6 update via Content Manager but spotted a few things that needed tweaking:
  • the driver's hands rotate a lot faster than the steering wheel
  • the driver position and shifting animation/timing aren't a great fit
  • the MoTeC digits float ~10mm in front of the screen
  • the windscreen banner has a weird holographic reflection from inside the cockpit
  • the bonnet catches lack a metallic effect (minor point, only mentioning these as they are right in the eye line)

Hope you don't mind but I:
  • fixed the hand/wheel synch in driver3d.ini
  • substituted a new driver model in, repositioned/rescaled him, added a new shifting animation and adjusted the timing and preload in driver3d.ini
  • seated the floating digits in digital_instruments.ini
  • fixed the holographic banner by config
  • added a metallic effect to the bonnet catches by config (which also affects other external chrome)

Feel free to fold anything you like into the next update.

And finally, if anyone wants to give the Wekangcai Isle of Man a nice polish in terms of colors and CSP options (the dark walls on the first minute of driving are pretty ugly), Wekangcai told me he'd be happy to have anything improved on his work.
I threw this together awhile back for a league race we ran here. It's not perfect but everyone was happy with it for the race. I added GrassFX, RainFX, some basic night lights, tweaked a lot of materials and some other little things.

This is a *.zip file, so rename *.txt to *.zip and put it in the extension folder. Hope this helps!

Fixed a bunch of floating digits on the dash and MoTeC.
Can't work out why the lap timer on the MoTeC is borked though - the digits overlap the m/s/t colons?

Also: any way to get a different number on each car? It's a little odd them all sharing no.1
Edit: it's just a case of editing the number sticker 00_0_065.dds (need a good match for the font?) and dropping each individual one in the corresponding skin folder.
Any volunteers?

How the hell does a 20kb file changes so much about the track. I included it in the track download.

Here's the link for anyone interrested : https://www.mediafire.com/file/rl193zmqjyr4mz1/Wkai_isle_of_man_tt.7z/file

Thanks a lot @Haunebu52

BTW if you want to take care of the Dundrod one you'd make me the happiest wife in the world! https://sharemods.com/vo3js6cm5neo/dundrod_by_weikangcai.7z.html

I hope I did well... 🤨

haha I'm glad you liked the fix - I'll see what I can do about Dundrod this weekend. I don't remember if it was as bad as IoM tho, I haven't raced it in awhile

I'm working on finalizing my career mod and would like some help/feedback

This is currently how it looks:

career.png
What I would like to know is what series fits in the red marked box and also potential MODDED cars and if the "sport" series is somewhat decent overall. This career is meant to be 100% modded, to shine some extra light on all the great creators before EVO drops, so please point me in the direction of some great cars =) (V8 SC and TA2 are already pretty much locked in, if the series are considered good)

Released for free on my Patreon, the next car in the 1988 Indycar series, the March 88C.

Credits

This car would not be possible without the great ISO team, who were very kind to give us permission to convert their cars over and have also been helpful at solving a few issues along the way. In particular we wish to thank David Sabre, Jason White, Richard Wilks, Richard Coxon and Alberto Ibanez for their work in the original mod and their permissions to use it again in AC.

ISO still runs a very active series of leagues which is worth checking out - https://intlsimracingforum.boards.net/
Model - original model by David Sabre, converted by BruceD
Sounds conversion - original sounds by Richard Wilks, converted by BruceD
Physics - BruceD, originally based off work by G0D
Engines - BruceD
Skins and textures - David Sabre, Jason White, Alberto Ibanez
Goodyear tyre textures - ozzy98 - available here https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/nascar-goodyear-tyres.49988/

Also available at the same link is the latest update of the Lola T8800, featuring a number of bug fixes and updates.

you might like this Dundrod more... or not.
shame it doesn't have anywhere enough spots to be useful for running realistic grids.

Here's an alt skin set for the Lexus IS F CCS-R 2011 to add more colour to the grid (almost all of the original skins just had a white base with coloured accents), including @Perico Lospa 1-20 car numbers.
CSP seems to have the worst memory leak it's ever had at the moment so I could only add five cars to each image before CM crashes.

I've been testing it a few times, not enough to make a vid. I'll give you a complete feedback. So far my only issue with this version is the road mesh that i found to be too flat. Same goes with Sydney.

What a bunch of beautiful tracks, and yet driving oldschool ATCC cars on Sydney i can feel there's a road mesh, but not enough to actually care about changing my racing line.

It's my main complain about assetto corsa modded tracks, i don't know if it's my ffb settings or the fact that i only drive vintage soap bars, but so far i care more about the road feeling than anything else. Other games do not feel as flat, but somehow when it is done properly in AC it gets INSANELY cool.

Some late good examples of a proper road mesh are in Port Newark, Rainmaker Snetterton (that for some reason is not included in every track he makes, i would absolutly love to experience this in Clermont-Ferrand or on the schottenring), i enjoyed Bikernieki a lot thanks to this.

If i was to get into blender and modding, that's the first thing i would specialize in.

It's probably hard to work on and i don't want to be an ungrateful brat, but i would just look at the Weikangcai dundrod conversion, grab the road physical mesh, and copy it to every single track out there, just as a starter. Then whatever the hell is going on in Port Newark, Bremgarten, the kunos Nord, spa66, Longford67... Add some texture everywhere.

Most of the time it saddens me way too much. I dl a track for testing, play a lil while and cries out because everything is perfect...apart from the road details : patchs, bumps, dirt/grass, changes of grip depending on the surface etc.

I would play all your tracks all day long if it wasn't just for this. Hell, i'm actually pretty sure you could start a patreon just doing road updates for ac modded tracks.

Please don't hit me, it's just a feeling that i hided for too long! I am super happy about all the content created. If you ear my old voice mumbling in the dark and just edit those, i would be your sex slave. Or something similar. Ok, i'll buy you a mcdonalds. With milkshake and all.

Help who knows! On some tracks, the display screen looks very light. Is there a general setting for all tracks or is it necessary to adjust the brightness of the displays in each track? CSP 0.2.5 - 1.

will be fixed with the upcoming Pure LCS + Gamma. CSP needs a HDR to LDR conversion ratio which is not properly set in Pure right now...
