I know I've asked this before and I did write it down somewhere, but... somebody please remind me:
How do you keep two different versions of the same vehicle?
I know you need to rename the car folder and the sfx bank, but what else? LoDs and kn5? Anything else?
I've done it before but whenever I try it now I get all sorts of 'broken car' data errors in CM.

Btw.......just did a 20 lap V8 Supercar race at Potrero.....that's a freakin' workout!!
Of course its a well detailed track so the filesize can be really big if its uncompressed.

As for the car, yes its part of the Vision GT project, AKA: Polyphony's Concept Car Emporium, where you get some really cool looking 2 seater race cars to grace the track at high speed.
 
Looks like I've been doing it wrong then. Since some mirror's on car's appear broken. Either way I can do it my way or gladbecker82's way.
 
Since the Assetto Corsa modding community started, has any actual malware or viruses ever been found in any mods?
Not directly but the hosting sites for the mods at times were really bad. adfly, depositfiles etc etc would regularly bring up dodgy pop ups.

There was also a mclaren mod back in 2014 when the support forums hosted mods which used an exe to install and by default it would try to change your default search engine to yahoo.

There is a 3D model available for it over at Hum3D. That's if anyone was wanting to put it in game I guess.
 
Does anybody have any tips regarding ai flood? I'm trying to do track day traffic runs on shuto revival but no matter what I do cars seem to crash, stop, freeze in the road. Read a few things saying it happens once they have crashed but I've tried all different settings regarding ai performance and aggression.
 
You can also use cm replace sound to cut out renaming all the sound files, just replace with the original mods sounds if that makes sense.
Of course! Why didn't I think of that? The GUIDS file needed about a dozen edits. Quite quick with copy/paste, but not as quick as CM.

Another option :lol::

With Assetto Corsa Car Tuner, you can make a new tune of the car you want to copy. You name it as you wish, you close the program and voilá. Later you can make the car independant in Content Manager of course.

Total time of the operation: 3 seconds :)

Thats great fun Shuto revival at night even more like NFS but with great physics LOL.
Im still tryin to find best settings for AI as they crash a lot...I set up about 12AI cars with simillar performance with low agression and difficulty I think thats best way to keep them not crash a lot as I saw very fast cars crash into slower ones.And I let them all go then I chase them....
Also I saw somewhere but I dont have link that guy made a traffic cars who can drive thru each other so they dont crash...but I didnt save link as I like to see some crashes LOL
If I find good solution I will post it....maybe try to play with spawn settings in AI flood in CM...

Wow, I've got 28 Ford Escorts but that's the first Mk3. Thanks! It's not too shabby. Looks like a conversion from LHD judging by the rear-view mirror angle, lol.

The Marcos got me excited but man is it rough. It drives OK but looks like someone's first attempt at a car mod. Seems made from folded paper, lol. And what's with the driver's floating hands? Spooky!

Maybe Gladbecker82 or someone could work his magic on the Mantis in the future, until then it can help flesh out the grids.

I found the escort as I am converting the FH4 model myself. Could be the same model but I'm not certain, same bizarre mirror angle though although this model is missing the blue graphics down the sides so could be different.
 

Classic example of why being too prizzy about mods is a bit joyless.
It drives really well, but it will have nothing close to the real thing data numbers wise and uses kunos bits.....but it's FUN, looks good and i have never ever been one of these types who go check 'real life lap times' and compare and moan about it....
I don't use a 'sim' to see if i could drive a racing car in real life as i know i could and have (i am yet still to find a sim racing car that anywhere close to the grip of a real racing car or car for that matter).

Stuff like that Panoz do the job thanks, well worth having despite being what some would mock. Keep going!

yeah the escort looks pretty good, almost identical to my brothers real life one. Any easy way to fix that mirror? kind of a must in VR :)
 
So here at GTP with regards to car mods, it seems anything goes. Ten versions of the same car or a poor rip, as long as it looks good in replays and/or is fun to drive, it's a keeper.

What about tracks? If there exists two otherwise equal versions of a track, but one is less accurate than the other, which track is best? Is there room here for two Le Mans? Would you keep both and actually use them, or would one get deleted?

i mean, i dont get the complaints about using kunos physics really, allegedly the departure of a physics guy is what is holding URD back from releasing stuff, and its a matter of better be safe then sorry in that regards, every set of physics exist in kunos world, front, mid rear engine, where it is positioned etc.

and i rather drive something that is known to work, looks good, and drives atleast somewhat relatable.

not to mention that grid filler part, if you do some ai racing, you just wanna spice things up without even driving these things yourself.

and besides, look at the latest RSS release, and how many said under braking etc the cars dont really handle reasonable.

So yeah, i dont understand the reason for 5 different versions of cars, but to each their own, my only car duplicates are M6 and R8, for tracks it depends really, i have some tracks twice, but for others i remove the older versions. always depends on quality or performance.

It is one of my favourite things to do on the game but just turns into random parked vans and trucks all over the place while I'm trying to blast through at near 200mph most of the time. Its not so bad if the transits have the police skins, makes me think I'm dodging roadblocks haha. Seriously though, I would love a fix, tried all kinds.

Like I said I think problem is AC well known AI dont overtake as fast as human...but most strange thing is they crash into slower AIs at full speed lol like slower AI isnt even there.I dont know why AI dont just slow down and wait for the overtake...so I try to bop AI oponents with custom CM AI streinght....I have an idea to make some tracks,vans itd faster with car tuner so they dont drive so slow compared to some middle sportcars but not that fast to look silly fast like an Hyprercar speed van lol...so they will not "slow down" sportcars that much...Transit is just to slow to be there IMO ...
