Before and after is pretty nice comparison, F1 and F6 cameras are also fixed.
Not sure if I understand this picture. Is the cockpit of this mod now correctly RHD? I can't seem to find the RHD version. I was driving tonight at LM and when I pitted it dawned on me that if I was going to get out that I would be on the left side, not the right/correct side of the car. I downloaded the final version from 6/19 a while back, but now most links seem to be expired.

You change driver on driver_80? Why? After all driver_80 without HANS system..
My rework is not perfect, true no hans, but almost of 3d car model don’t fit a driver with hans and i like the 80 model, the 3d of helmet and the painting friendly comparate to the driver or driver_2016

@P1ButtPlug

If It's the Mercedes CLR RM from "URD", make your day with some other skins ! ;-)

My pleasure ! ;-)

It is, I can hardly wait to look . Thanks for sharing that. Searched far and wide outside of RD with zero luck.
edit: I have those, most are the same with just a color change but thank you for posting 'um. :cheers:It's like these are the only ones that exist, which is strange beings that I think the template comes with the car.

The final Version was right side. The mega links should still be around as they dont expire.

You have to have rtm-Audi-r18 or something

Highly interested here ...

NP. I'll upload it here, but there are no wipers :P ...and I forgot how it drives... it was one of my first mods for AC, so the quality is questionable.

the engine and suspensions are from the porsch of assetto drive and the body is a mdified version based on the assettopedia take; and another version of the body is the from the first original mod.

here it is... hopefully it still works :P

It is a mess in the skins folders, since every car was different.
The shaders are wrong, the suspensions are just a copy paste from somewhere, the collision boxes are wrong if I recall well, etc, etc. but despite, it was cool to make a few laps on the nordschleife.
was experimenting at the time how things work in AC.
Whoever wants to clean up the mess and/or modify something; be my guest... no credits needed for me.
At the moment I have no time to retest it and cleanup ... honestly, I don't think it is a keeper, but it is fun to take it for a spin or two ;)

ZMhack, AP and Assettodrive are the ones to be credited. (credits in the car.json)

It does work, and how !
I only tried the Custom for now: it's a howling, fire spitting monster :dopey: It looks good (much better than a Karmann version I used to have), it has nice skins, and it behaves pretty well as it is.

For me a certain keeper. Thanks for sharing that.
Now off to try the other version... :)

Edit: the Porsche version is very nice too (I like how it moves under braking).
Nice touch on the wheel :D

Didnt you say a few months back that you design real life liveries for cars? I still would love to see an AC skin from you because I still remember your "critic" on other skins.

I am just going to put this out there.... for me the karman ghia is the most perfectly designed car ever in the history of cars....... any angle, it's just perfect.... most cars have at least one bad angle IMO.
I know this is off topic but anyone agree or can submit your counter evidence?

Just for fun.
Yep, been a firm favourite of mine for a couple of decades now. I've come close to buying one a few times too. I love them in OG spec but they can also look awesome when tricked out too.

F1 2008 mod upgrade done, 22 helmets and visors skins reworked, i used some textures by Fabio Contier from an 2008 mod on automobilista found on RD, some other are made by me, all 22 cars shaders are fixed with new AO, Rain light added, some cars skins fixed also ( numbers, propers name driver on cars ), propers cameras set added too, ui, previews fixed and reworked, errors on .acd fixed, shadows fixed, .kn5 fixed ( physics match with 3d cars, red bull and toro rosso specially ) others adjustements and improvments in all cars...
Note : rim blur are disabled for the moment and are not fixed, glow disc issues not fixed because of bad objects used for discs for all cars...
If you have already buy the mod, i can provide a link to my ugraded version in p.m only :)

A beauty for sure but... hmmmm

250 GTO

Almost all of the feel in sims comes via the tires, communicated via the steering system. The rest is the steering system simulation.

IRL, there'll be a hell of a lot of more difference between individual parts, like how your joints are constructed or what shape your control arms are and how they flex due to that, but there's basically none of that in the sim. At most in AC you can fake rear axle bushing flex with AWS.

Even being like that, the difference between car geometries, and especially a realistic geometry which makes sense and a rubbish geometry which doesn't make any sense is very large. I find most well-made geometries will feel more or less similar in AC, although I mainly make 80's and 90's roadcars which have quite similar approach. If something feels drastically different, chances are it is, or it's just really badly made.

Even then, you could swap around everything except the geometries in my cars and I'd still be able to figure out what I'm driving just from the characteristics of how the axles handle acquiring and losing grip. Which has more grip, what the tempo is individually and between them, if it feels peaky or if the margin for driving on the limit feels large etc. Irregardless of tires.

I appreciate the thoughtful reply, and it also seems to me that, if the suspension is done properly, the "feel" of the car then has much more to do with tire characteristics (and perhaps aero) than anything else. Again: If the suspension is already correct!

While we're on that subject, do you have an idea why something like the Kunos Nissan 370Z feels so sloppy and wobbly compared to the real thing? Had a buddy in the USAF who had a 370Z and I drove it a few times. It had very little body roll and a very stiff suspension in general. It was all a bit agricultural, but one thing it was not was sloppy. The KS 370Z has a totally different character than the real car.

To me it, feels like a tire problem. I've driven older cars with tall, compliant sidewalls and they had the same loose, wobbly feel to them (basically a big delay between steering inputs and the car settling into a stance). I'm using the 370Z as an example, but there are many street cars in AC that have the same issue: It's as if you're driving a modern car, but with the tires off a 1978 station wagon.
