Conversely.... Ooooh. I'm really looking forward to Fat Alfie's Fonteny circuit. Looks like it will be heading straight into my favourite favourites list!

Hell yeah lol. I just know Fonteny will be going in the best of the best favourites for me too

Tried it...what a mess...in this state not even worth downloading...
And he gets 4 five star reviews (from people that have not posted anything yet). :indiff:

RD has stopped me downloading cause I had AdBlock activated for it....so it looks like I was lucky to not be able to download this lol. Think it's a drift map by the sounds of it - and a not very good one at that

I don't know what it is tbh... never seen such a mess. And the 5 star raters seem to be his friends from a community that obviously want to support him. That thing isn't even worth one star, but that's the minimum you can rate. I'd give it minus 5...
But as far as I understood, he will make an improved VIP version ahahahaaa...

Perhaps they should stick to Discord instead of spamming RD with fake 5 star reviews. I'm tempted to download it now just to have a laugh.

Have it and installed but havent looked.
Is it really this bad? Alphy usually doesn't make items for the landfill.
Alphy ? As in Fat Alfie ? His tracks are great, sublime even.
The one here is from a Spanish guy 'potre'. It's supposed to be v2... It doesn't even deserve 0.2.

Yes, Alfie. When I looked at the track, somewhere I saw a "FAT / Caterpillar" logo which is him... now looking I dont see it anywhere and see the author. :indiff:

I only originally d/l it because I saw Alfies logo otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
Now that thats all straightened out, into the graveyard she goes.

It's hardly surprising that Rio is a resource hog, it's got to be one of the most richly-detailed tracks out there, and largely unoptimised.
@megolito, you could optimise it yourself with 3DsimEd if you really do want better performance. I've been looking for the posts on F1 Classic where somebody (I can't remember who, sadly - might have been Terra21 or maybe Jim Lloyd) told how it was done. Anyone remember the instructions? It's apparently not hard, just time consuming.

I think it was Terra21. I found this quote:
Hi guys.. with most conversions for AC reducing the texture/material count to lower D.I.P is a major factor to getting acceptable FPS.. But it also takes a hell of a long time to do. Some times too long to even bother with.. and the FM7 tracks take the cake when it comes to the material count. as each track has literally thousands of them..so getting a grid of say 24 AI working with decent fps is going to be quite the task..

Edit: aha! It was Jim Lloyd who posted instructions:
its pretty straight forward.....open the kn5s in 3dsimed...the 2 that need looking at are the track and the raceday kn5s

once in 3dsimed open the edit materials tab....then simply search for materials that use the same diffuse texture (dont worry if the shader settings are different at this stage...i can sort that later)

basically its like the game flounders....match the materials using the same texture and name them the same....once you have done a few re-export the kn5 and save over the existing....it may not seem like anything is happening but slowly and surely the dip will come down ...if your totally not sure and worried that something has gone wrong just shout and i will help?

i would do anything for nurburgring if we didnt have it, and to be honest my love for rio is almost the same. i have countless hours on that track and i may just take the challenge of doing exactly what you said here. im not sure how many miles of rio ive done but last time i checked nurburgring i had 71,000 miles. roughly 3.1 times around the earth worth of sim miles. ide say rio i must be at 12,000-18,000. i dont know how long it will take but ill attempt to fix rio myself. im downloading 3dsimed now. hopefully i can learn a thing or two from the experience.

i wrote that reply hours ago and forgot to click send. i got 3dsimed and messed with it a bit. and now i have new capabilitys with car mods thanks to your comment. Rio is still the task at hand but now i can also mess with cars visually like ive always wanted to.
I present to you! gt3 RS MEGA WING TEST! its a baby step and im not keeping it, but its proof on concept!

Looks good, but the RA we already have is great too. Wish he'd do something like Mid-Ohio or Sears Point instead.
Road America (Albert McSaltens v3.6) is indeed pretty good.
Mid Ohio (Terra21 and the smoother NAGP version) is fine too.
Sonoma aka SearsPoint aka Infinion Raceway (AC track reboot, NAGP version) is not bad, but needs some more work, I agree.
But whatever Lilski is focusing on, will be worth having :)

Agree. Will be interesting to try Road America with the right width on the track. Could be a gamechanger since it's wrong by that much right now.

intersting!

yes "catching and stuttering", like trying to brake with loose bearings, I would think on a DD wheel it would rather violent.

Do you mean you went to the data folder and remove the ABS? I did not look as I would not expect abs to be on a vintage.

On a different subject:

how do we get rid of this again? it is the ap_300_slr_trackday

I'm working on the fixed problem but must also repaired collider, soon released :)

Hi @__EASY__ , did you see my recent notes about your data duplication in your car folder/file structure? Because you keep both the data.acd AND the data folder in your car folder it's impossible to tell which is the correct resource, and a few of us are still waiting for confirmation from you about which is the correct one on the cars you've released recently.
To recap (as you didn't reply to or acknowledge the the posts about this, so might have missed them), you ideally should have either the data folder (unpacked) or data.acd (packed) in the car folder, but not usually both.
Thanks.

Cheers to all.I downloadad some traffic cars read trucks and bikes! Its great to see some of them when driving traffic mode or tracks. But that pack has collisions turned of.Is it hard to turn collision on?How can I do that? Thanks
I tried to copy all letters from collisions.ini of a car that have them and adjust size in CM but still it wont work.:(

hey guys question, so i heard that the Fxxk (S1) made by assettocorsaracer is really the physics of FXXK EVO. so ive had an idea, do you think if i took the standard FXXK wing upload_2019-12-18_9-30-12.png and just laid a wing across it from a GT3 car or something that has a rounded ish wing that we could make a makeshift Evo out of it? with this wing upload_2019-12-18_9-31-50.png
