i would do anything for nurburgring if we didnt have it, and to be honest my love for rio is almost the same. i have countless hours on that track and i may just take the challenge of doing exactly what you said here. im not sure how many miles of rio ive done but last time i checked nurburgring i had 71,000 miles. roughly 3.1 times around the earth worth of sim miles. ide say rio i must be at 12,000-18,000. i dont know how long it will take but ill attempt to fix rio myself. im downloading 3dsimed now. hopefully i can learn a thing or two from the experience.
you wont be able to "fix" performance with 3dsimed, you must get down object count by carefully joining existing objects...only possible with Blender or other 3d software...ok maybe there is a painful (i guess) way which i dont know about
you cold however play with LOD_OUT values or other things, but it only gets some kind of better

if this works for me ill be beyond happy. then all i need is a reverse layout and ide be done. i wont be able to test it for another 7 hours....when i get off work. ill be praying that this works for me as good as it did for you. rio is top 3 for me on my favorite tracks to drive on period. across all games/sims

Yes, Alfie. When I looked at the track, somewhere I saw a "FAT / Caterpillar" logo which is him... now looking I dont see it anywhere and see the author. :indiff:

I only originally d/l it because I saw Alfies logo otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
Now that thats all straightened out, into the graveyard she goes.
In the commentary, he says that this is his first work, maybe you are mistaken about the author?

Sorry imagine i am stupid......... i can't find object inspector app, i am running patch 205.
 
Just remove the rio4.kn5 before you pay anyone. I did that and it was playable but I'm not sure what it actually removed lol.

I do still have big jumps in the first tunnel, is there a better version with that fixed?

I have a simple(?) modding idea and also kind of a request.

Can anyone make a 918 without electric engines and batteries?
  • lighten it 120kg's (up to 180kgs, may be 200?) for two electric engines and 6,8kWh batteries,
  • make it 608ps just like porsche claims for its ICE (or better make a setting that it has no electric power at any times),
  • may be higher the center of gravity a bit (2cm?)
what do you say? Is it too much, bad idea, hard to do? thanks.

edit: well, of course first method I'm talking is using assetto corsa car tuner.

I'm quite sure it's a bit of an extreme fix as it removes some of the scenery -
@Masscot will tell you what it removes but if it helps make it run smoother then I'm not complaining lol
As for the bumps I have no clue what to do there.
 
I found some traffic stuff whilst browsing Discord https://discordapp.com/channels/639777380382015500/639780460284870696 the other day. Not bothered downloading them though as I've got no clue what to do with them lol

Follow the instructions in this and use the traffic cars as your opponents in track day mode using ai flood. Only use as many opponents as you have cars if that makes sense, ai flood just recreates them so you get loads of traffic.

Same author has made a few 2 way traffic mods it works for.

I shared a guys YouTube video which had a link to his discord a few weeks back on here if you search my posts. He has loads of traffic cars and a few bikes.
 
Now it's my turn. I don't have that menu bar shown in your screenshot? How do I access that menu bar? Would you mind providing step by step instructions? (I do have full CM on most recent version.)

Call me dumb (actually, don't lol) but where do you put the traffic files (the cars)
I'm alright as far as setting up content manager for AI traffic, just not sure where the models go

Just with all the other cars (cars folder) , if you search for traffic when adding them as opponents they will all come up.

They are all drivable, even the bikes but have no collider as in you can drive through them. Means they don't hit eachother.

I didn't know that - I just thought there was a special traffic folder I was missing......thanks mate :cheers:

You can just use any car for traffic but this guy has made all his balanced so they don't go max speed when set to 100%. Enjoy, on that guys vids he has a traffic ai line for shuto revival which is great also.

Yeah I've been following the progress of Shuto, had a go thrashing the Wagnan Evo round there at night which was proper good. Was a bit empty so the traffic should help out a bit there.

Is it this video?
