Sorry folks, seems that video was 'unlisted' (?) and was leaked onto Facebook somehow. I shouldn't have copied the link here from Facebook, it apparently wasn't for public consumption. I didn't know this at the time, just thought it was like all previous CSP preview videos. Apologies to all concerned. Link deleted. If people could please edit their quotes accordingly. I've sent PMs to those who quoted it.

@GzeroD @Fanapryde Once you get your head in the Vintage Era of driving - OH MY GOD the W196 is heaven with a gearstick and a massive wooden steering wheel. Absolute joy to throw it around Deutschlandring. But yeah that airbrake staying up is a downer for replays - just looks a bit silly sticking up all the way round.

No, couldn't work it out. Even tried deleting the lods and the config.
I had to revert to the backup kn5.
I probably did something wrong when exporting the car from 3DSimEd.
i forgot to tell you the reason i downloaded 3ds max in the first place. that 911 gt3rs big wing edition i made, i forgot to tell you guys every single digital gauge on the car disappeared after exporting. so i brought this to the attention of some of the top modders from "assetto corsa tuned mods" page on FB. and i was told

"3dsimed just screws stuff up all the time. I only use it to export the kn5 file to fbx so I can get it into 3Dsmax, Your best bet is to get 3dsmax bro, it's a little harder to use but a bunch of good tutorials on how to do different things like switch rims or even convert car car"

So it may not even be your fault. even the really experienced guys have issues with it sometimes

Animated wind turbines...
:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

That is a big one for me. will the existing one at Zolder work?

That's properly mental. Hopefully it'll make jets flying above your head at Donington a possibility again
I guess that is possible right now. I have jets flying over at Le Mans, Indianapolis, Anglesey and maybe some more that I am forgetting atm...
Also a plane towing a banner at Watkins Glen...

Do they just fly over the track at random places as I think @Masscot had them flying down the straight at donington but he said he'd lost the config file for it. Maybe this will make it possible to set exactly where you want them to go without having to resort to trial and error until you get it right.

All these add ons and here's me removing track side stuff!

Anyway, here is my silverstone 'off season'
the config file should be in with the off season skin so place that into 'loaded' extension silverstone.ini. if you fancy seeing a very club like silverstone, just a few trucks and odd gazebo, 2d people gone as well and the ugly tree on the start line.
Not claiming to have done much with the off season thing as simply blanked out the hoardings on someone else's skin.
I am assuming to replace the track stuff is as simple as deleting all the new replacements in track.ini.

Hey all, would anybody know where to find a decent version of Indianapolis? I’ve searched for about a week now and can’t find anything close to the modern GP layout

Here's a replay picture when braking hard: aero brake stays down, while during driving it worked:

aerobrakenw.png

But it just occured to me that wipers usually (always ?) are not working either in replays. Maybe because of the same reason ?
@GzeroD the Merc W194 does not get top speed and driven distance recorded in CM. This while I can't find anything wrong in the name. Any idea what can cause this ? Maybe the name too long ?

Edit: name is too long according to @leBluem
max length for track (folder-)name: 32
max length for additional layout name: 15
max length for car (folder-)name: 32
all lowercase, latin-digits-underscore, NO utf8- or fancy characters like é or something

Don't suppose you could pack all those files into a single zip for easier downloading could you? Just saves them all getting lost in my downloads folder lol

Before I replaced the old Rio, I also did a couple of tests like @Fanapryde has:

Old: 55 AVG and 41 MIN
New: 75 AVG and 65 MIN

i7 3770 + RTX 2060

That's a massive increase for me! More than I was expecting anyway :D

It stays up! I didn't realise that, may lead me to a way to fix it, no guarantees though.

OK, I can fix that. Names just kept getting longer as I needed to differentiate between cars of the same name/type. W196S' top speed is too great, it was based on journalistic hyperbole, but I found a more realistic source.

Have you tried my version?

Speaking of which I said I was going to work on the washed out over brightness with the textures. But I've gone soft on that and/or been distracted by other things.
So here's a call out to :gtplanet: to join in the fun (come to my rescue). Any of our resident material/texture experts willing to polish off this, surprisingly scarce in AC for its popularity, conversion?
Either via config or edits to the .kn5, or both.

Cheers
GØD

I found a link to this on the NAGP site but it's part of a pack that is password protected for some reason, do you have a usable link at all?

I'm a bit distracted right now due to the failure of my new Fanatec Podium DD1 wheelbase (groan)... but if I recall correctly, only the more recent NAGP track packs are password protected. I think there's one from around May last year that isn't. It has less tracks in it than the later ones. The track packs with Road America and Sonoma (I think) were password protected for sure.

Right now, I can't log on to the NAGP site. It seems to be down.

From FB, a very nice RHD M4 Comp Pack by Tony Cooke, based on his own car:
View attachment 874775
(note: audio has a fault right now and needs swapping with, say, the Kunos M4 or GUERILLA Mods M4 GT4 first)
....

Yes there is an issue with the sound but you can do an easy fix to get the sound back.
Simply rename the soundbank and the name in guids.txt with the name of the folder (there's a missing "1_").

ie:
sound bank must be named : bmw_m4__CP_v1_1_RHD.bank

and GUIDs.txt must contains the following :

Code:

I probably did something wrong when exporting the car from 3DSimEd.

Did you accidentally leave 'Keep Object Nesting' unticked on import? This destroys the Nulls/Dummys (sic) on cars.

These are amazing. One even has the properly-modelled tonneau that I've been trying to remove from the AP car.
They both feel very floaty and imprecise after driving the AP though...
