Thanks for this, I love the S2000 (very nearly bought one at launch after drooling over one at the British Motor Show). There are a few good (and very different) examples on Assettoland, including racing variants and ones with the hard top removed. Most seem to share the same model. Would you consider do an updated open-top version as well?
Most of them (including yours) seem to have very dark cockpit materials that crush all of the detail, especially in VR where lighter materials emphasise the 3D geometry of the cockpit better. I swapped the main interior leather DDS and lightened a few elements purely for personal preference so here's the kn5 in case anyone wants to try it. A lot of materials were linked so there wasn't a lot of fine tuning possible, unfortunately. But for me the cockpit is now a lot less oppressive. Back up the original kn5 first, of course.

Actually I like it here, I'd just prefer if people didn't post stuff not scratch made to a website where that stuff isn't allowed. Car companies don't care usually but the people who make these originally are the ones that go after sites like RD. In fact, iirc the Beam.ng devs nearly got a Cease and Desist letter because someone uploaded a stolen track from I think GTR2 to the forums. Also, "get a grip" really? lol

You are banned from the forum over there, I am pretty sure they are onto these people posting such mods, so quite why you feel you have to be so vocal about it over here i really don't know.
If i want RD drama i'll log on over there.... which unlike you, i can..

You can change opacity in the 3d clouds to make them essentially 2d clouds and anywhere in between. That's a bit dramatic in that vid.

That Hyundai I20 is the same car that's on:
https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/wrc, I believe.
There's 4 other 2017 WRC cars on there. I have them all Bop'd and like whipping them around small tight tracks. But BoP wasn't the only thing that needed attention if I remember correctly. These reworked a bit can be a good time.

Briefly banned from RD, please tell me this isn't the full car you uploaded. I swear it's like just choose to forget that RD doesn't allow mods that aren't scratch made. Even their own moderators seem to forget that.

Gosh. I didn't uploaded anything. I'm not a modder (please read my signature).
Just saw it there and posted here. Anything wrong?

First of all, thank you all for your comments and reviews! :gtpflag:

Huh, didn't know they're faster than Ks cars. Because when I drove them to compare times, the Guerillas/Rollovers are always approximately 1 or 2 secs slower than the Kunos one for me. Default settings at Imola.
Guess I am just a bad driver then.

Welp, time to BOP the Ferrari again. But then I need you all as test drivers. Anyone? :D

I agree: the Guerilla/Rollovers cars are approx. 1-2 sec/lap slower than the original Kunos GT4s.

I'm impressed by the tech but to me the old 2D Sol skyboxes still have much more convincing cloud formations than these big floating balls of cotton wool. I'm sure they'll get better though.

I agree with you Masscot. To my eyes, the 2D cloud formations in SOL look far more like what I see when I look up. With the current 3D rendering, the cloud spacing is too regular, the cloud shapes too regular and the cloud altitude is also too regular.

Having said all that, I really appreciate what Peter Boese is trying to achieve and all the effort he puts into SOL.

It did solve the lines I had in front of the car, but some skins gave me the same issues like on the pic you posted.
Your tip about the shadow sharpening helped 👍

Yep, that fixed it

Another thing that bothers me is the mirror/monitor in some cars that has some kind of mesh over the screen so it looks pretty bad. Not all cars are affected though so I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere to get a 'clean' monitor ?

This the gue_aston_martin_vantage_gt3 (Guerilla Mods, SSR, delpinsky v1.3 e.g.)

View attachment 902985
@delpinsky maybe ? :rolleyes:
It's a Guerilla Mod car...so I guess you should ask them to fix it. Last time did fix something, it started the virtual WWIII. :D

Maybe I shouldn't have sent them this :P

Waddaya got there? Clouds that look just like SOL? LOL
Seriously though, you ever wonder if it's just the part of the world people live in? Where I'm at, we can get all 4 seasons in one week and the clouds do anything they want. Super high, super low, both.

It was another vid just like this sent days ago shot by the same channel. Cloud behavior or sumpin'
Where you livin? Here we get all the seasons but not that different every week.

All the talk of those Gorilla gt4's, grabbed all the latest ones (skins), looks really nice. 👍
Now a drive later tonight

The version 1.0 could even race against the guerrilla mod ones, it's great!!! Thank you!!!!

Have you tried with an ext_config.ini in each skin folder instead of in the extension folder? It might be different now but when I was doing the chameleon paint it would only work if I put an ext_config in the relevant skin folder.
Thanks MrBoo, but is not something related with the ext_config.ini, is a problem with the skin itself, my fault! I'll fix it!

No offense, but I think it might to do something with txDiffuse and txMaps not done properly. Also, you didn't use metal_detail.dds for painting. It's really useful and also help with optimising (especially with effects and space).
Again, I don't want to dictate you how to do, just want to help you and explain why that happens. :)

Thank you, I'm no expert in 3D modelling and texturing, I'm just learning as I go, but in this case the problem is in the way I've repainted skins.

I didn't noticed it, thank you guys to point this out!

What a great little car!

Mini review. Drives great! Love chucking it around corners at the Nords.

As some people mention, that windowflap between the seats are really irritating(espesially with real mirror), Paint is a little to chrome (looks good in the CM Showroom but at the track it kinda sticks out.
And we need to find a better more realistic VTEC sound for the car :D

keep up the good work :)

Thank you for your mini review! I'm happy when someone appreciate the way my mods drive. Actually that is the main reason I do all of this!
About the windowflap, yes, it is really irritating, but I cannot find a way to solve it (I have very low 3D modelling knowledge)! If anyone can help me find a solution, I'd be glad!

Good edit Masscot! :) But I have to say, as I already figured it out in a previous post from you, that your screen doesn't look as mine. In my system the cockpit is dark, but not so dark! And this screenshot is from RealAKP's system:
upload_2020-3-28_7-11-21.png

So maybe your PP settings are very different from mine..
Anyway yes, in the next version the open-top will be included!

The black Audi TT cockpit that I reported was due to some CM/CSP setting (PBR shaders?) that I didn't have active. Once I followed your advice the whole TT interior was lit correctly and everything looked great.
The default S2000 cockpit isn't black like a silhouette (like some mod cars), but on my displays (2D screen and VR) a lot of the detail is crushed, eg from my comparison images the passenger-side door details can't be seen at all. As you say, it might be my PP settings but I'm using @Blamer 's filter with his default settings and it's pretty good. I guess in VR I find cockpit shaders and lighting to be a lot more important than I ever did in 2D as they do help tremendously with the sense of presence and realism.

I'm not really into street cars, but this car is a real joy to drive :)
Looks quite nice, sounds good too.
But CM gives a warning:

"""""Most likely, sound is not from tatuusfa1, but instead it’s based on Kunos sample soundbank and its author forgot to change GUIDs before compiling it. Usually it’s not a problem, but in a race with two different cars having same GUIDs, one of them will use sound of another one.

If you’re the author, please, consider fixing it."""""

When you click the bold part (coloured in CM) you get directed to this tutorial:

Sorry fana! I totally missed your post!
Thank you very much, so glad you like the way it drives!!
And I'll take a look to fix the sound message in CM!

The cloud base for cumulus clouds must be about the same in a given region, while the cumulus clouds height tends to vary more with lower cloud coverage.

But the cloud base surely changes along the day, according to the temperature.

I agree with you Masscot. To my eyes, the 2D cloud formations in SOL look far more like what I see when I look up. With the current 3D rendering, the cloud spacing is too regular, the cloud shapes too regular and the cloud altitude is also too regular.

if I'm not wrong there was one available from GTR2...

It was done by the model Jaguar GT3 done for AC...

That's right, there is a mod of the same car for GTR2 as shown below (it came in a GT4 mod pack).
receiv10.jpg

since theres some ACC convert teasing going on, older video of my up and coming 911 GT3 R (991.2)

older video, the interior has undergone quite some changes and is much more detailed now

Just out of interest is the soundtrack for the GT3 R the one that @ACFAN made? Not that I'm complaining, it suits the car really well!

Hi guys does anyone had this problem?
When i it Go! (hotlap and kunos car/track) CM loaded and this error appears and game crashes

Running Sol1.5
CSP 1.50 (even did a reinstall of 1.46)
filter RTFX 2020 ACC (changed back to A3PP 1.5)
Thanks for your help.

I recently started running into this problem myself after the updates in CM, although I'm unsure if it even related to CM, Sol 1.5. or if I need to change my Nvidia driver (Hopfully not..) It usually happens after quitting track day against the AIs with Guerrilla's GT4 cars. Any guesses anyone?
Screenshot2.jpg

Hey everyone, is there any way of adjusting the previews for the cars? Mine are pretty dark, probably due to my monitor adjustments(eye issues). Hopefully there is a way.

Thanks for any help

I had this yesterday. It was after I cancelled a practice because I realized I had forgotten to change time of day. It was still loading when I did that and I got the same message. But my PC was blocked which forced me to reboot. Afterwards it did not happen again.
