I just tried unticking the 'update to non-tested versions' box but can't seem to revert. Tried checking for updates and restarting CM but the version stays the same.
I'm on 0.8.2096.36316, data version 141. What version are you on?
Yes, the same. So it was not that that helped i guess. Maybe look at my other steps in edit part of my post. That is all i changed. And something must of helped. Sorry i don't know which did the trick in the end, i did all of those at once.
 
We are numerous who appreciate the |Mr|Mike works on his sounds (for most of the VRC products) and for his version of the "Alternative Miscellaneous Sounds".

Custom Miscellaneous Sound Pack by IMrIMike.

Alternative common bank featuring new custom, high quality samples for the following events:

- Ambience (only works on tracks that actually use ambient sounds)
- Dirt (will take a while to shake off all the gravel, stones and marbles out of the wheel arches etc. you picked up after going off track or ending up in the gravel trap)
- Extraturf (better known as Astroturf)
- Grass
- Gravel
- various collision samples with the track and cars
- Kerb
- Sand
- Pitstops, more specifically wheel guns (due to the animations being coupled to the wheel change time, not gonna fit to every car. F1 pitstops are way too short for example. Made the best out of it, I think)

Not necessarily meant as an improvement over the stock sounds, just something 'fresh'. Will affect all cars.
Audio levels are about matched with the original ones.
Installation instructions are provided in the ReadMe coming with download.
Make sure to make backups in case you want to revert.

I just checked and I'm on the same version as you I've never ticked for untested versions not noticed any problems so far
 
I know most of you here like things to be as close to real as possible but I'm kinda struggling to get the numbers correct on the Gulf Porsche 917 LH.
Could someone check and see if this is the right font for the numbers?? I believe it's called Helvetica black but I'm not 100%

School Times (Regular) font could work.

You might want to check the Caracteres L1 Medium and Caracteres L2 Medium fonts aswell ;)

Just did very quick test with all cars. Physics feel good which is standard for Shaun's work.
Only bug I came across is that Avensis's dash is not working for me.

Also cars have horn. Some of them have the silly truck horn Shaun's and GUE's cars have. Is is possible to unlink "flash lights" and horn commands? I didn't assign a horn button yet I still get it when I flash lights. It's very annoying in online races.

Oooh....so you're one of the blinkers? I hate you guys with a passion. :) Not only in sim racing, but IRL as well. We know you're coming, no need to make your presence shown. It has gone so far, that i deliberately don't move out of the way if the guy is blinking behind me. It iritates me so much. :)

Haha I knew someone would say that. I'd hate too but sometimes we do multi-class night races and blinking is the only way to avoid a collision when you approach to a slower class rapidly from behind. Unnecessary use is rightfully frowned upon.

As @Jimlloyd mentioned he is thinking about rehosting his old reboot project tracks again with fixes, tweaks etc. (Thx for that!!! 👍) I would recommend to be a bit patient.
I would enjoy helping bringing that online. Unfortunately I don´t have an idea where to host them all. My first thought was to suggest a new thread here on GTP after speaking with @daan who´s btw. dooing a really good job here. Thx for that!!! 👍
But this could cause to much attention and trouble for GTP? I don´t know. Anyone made suggestions yet?

i literally told you to click on the car in cm showroom and extract the AO and also extract the wireframe, why do you go to 3 seperate places with your issue????

EVA Racing McLaren 720S GT3s. These were a huge pain to make and the logos look pixelated up close, nothing I could do really. Also if someone can point me in the direction of the "EVA RT PRODUCTION TYPE 02" logo used on the 2018 EVA Racing Lambo GT3 that would be great thanks. Let me know what you all think, first time skinning in months lol. Will definitely try to do a Unit-00 car at some point too.
 
These frequent CM crashes continue to be a major pain in the ass but I've just realised that alt-tabbing to the crash dialogue and hitting 'delete' while still holding 'tab' will clear the message and let you return to CM. I've been having to quit AC/CM in task manager previously, or reboot the PC if TM wasn't responsive, so this potentially saves a LOT of pissing about.
Hope Ilja comes up with a permanent fix soon. Shame we can't revert to previous CM builds like we can with CSP.
This great tip saved me a considerable amount of time today. :bowdown:
I had countless CM crashes after races... :grumpy:

Grab logos in the highest resolution possible, then resize them before adding them to your car as that helps limit pixelating. If you're doing a google image search click tools and under the size tab select large. Also look for stuff from sites like this one https://www.cleanpng.com/

The version on RD does not load the roads at all.
I used to have it, but it was badly optimised (I get 53 fps AVG, 41 MIN), so I binned it.
But it worked.
So I downloaded it again today, replaced all capitals in the folder names with small characters (CM will not record speeds or distance when capitals are used), removed the sections.ini (because it's from Barbagallo).
Don't know if one of these actions helped, but it loads and works as expected.

Hey guys, I have another question, sorry for bothering you. I wanted to create some skins for Lotus 98T and have been working on that for the past few weeks, but now that I finished I noticed that racing with a field full of cars that are using my own skins is pretty much impossible, the screen freezes all the time.

I also noticed that the original skins have 12 layers, one of which is called "main surface", while the remaining 11 are called "mipmap", each of those layers is half the size of the previous one.

My question is: is the lack of these mipmap layers the cause why the game freezes so much when dealing with a field full of my skins?

Follow-up question: how can I create these layers in GIMP? Just scale the original layer down to half its size and repeat?
