@GzeroD - I made a few cosmetic updates to the Aston Martin DBR9.
  • Removed ugly reflective quality on interior windscreen banner.
  • Updated steering wheel shader values. No longer looks flat and grey.
  • Updated F6 cameras.
Feel free to add to your blog because we are legion. Or we are GTP Modding Team. Or we are Negan.......

Changes backported to the blog version.
Cheers

^^^ note that shader corrections only seem to have been applied to the SP2, apart from the paint. The SP1 still has very strange values which make materials too shiny, too bright, too reflective, over-saturated. Hopefully he'll update the SP1 to match the SP2.

Yes, I already downloaded your Barbagallo update. Job well done!

My intention was that your time could be better spent on tracks that need a facelift. However, I’m sure a DTM skin will still be well received!

If some of you want some track to be rework (skin and cam in my case), just ask :)
I'm always happy to work on tracks people love but think they need some fresh paint :)

EDIT: DTM Oschersleben upload on RD

Thanks.
At least on this Gue/Roll pack, you can have previews, plus, encrypted or not, the data folder is still available to modify/BoP to anything you'd like.

I have a question for you, I love your sets of tires in your Tyre Machine folders, did you make these tire sets and the algorithms, code, for them?
More particularly, I'd like to know how I can adjust existing sets of tires for cars that your data sets don't except.
Example of what I'm doing:
Trying to use a modern tire on the DRM Revival pack, whether it be a Modern GT tire or a 00's Race Car tire. Problem is that these options don't bold out in generate new tire. I'm guessing due to size. Now I see in the Input folder of these tire options there's a Normalizations.json. Is this where the tire size is coming from? I assume it is possible to create yet another folder that extends that range or will at least allow me to complete this certain task which is trying different tires on these Group 5 cars. I can PM you if need be

I made the tyre machines but not any of the algorithms or original tyre sets. Everything was created using the tyres from Kunos cars and very occasionally what I would declare 'top tier' mod cars. The settings I use are the default settings with padding set at 50% as follows:

91879611_10103805441014498_7252587518120427520_o.jpg

Back to your question, you're correct that you won't be able to generate a set of modern slicks for a DRM car due to the size difference. When creating for example the 'Medium Slicks Modern GT' set, if I remember correctly I ticked for the generator to use the Medium compound slick tyres from all the Kunos GT3, GTE and GT2 cars. The resulting tyre is a hybrid of these three types but due to the similar wheel and tyre size that these modern racing machines use, there isn't a lot of flexibility in the size for the generator to use.

To enable generation of a 'Medium Slicks Modern GT' set for a DRM car, I would go re-create the tyre machine, but this time I would add just one set of older tyres to the algorithm, so for example I might add the vintage slicks from the Kunos 1972 Porsche RSR or one of the tyre sets from one of the DRM revival cars. I'd then save this as 'Medium Slicks Modern GT X'. This would dramatically increase the possible size range that could be generated, but it would dilute the quality of the tyres slightly as now, let's say 5% of the final tyre properties would've been derived from 1970s slick tyres. This is why in my existing machines, there's an instruction to use for example ' Street -> Street X -> Street X-Treme ' in that order, as the quality of the tyre generated gets slightly less accurate as you add other tyres to the mix to increase the size range.

I should add that I'm speculating here, as with the majority of CM/CSP functions there's no user manual so I'm basing the above assumptions purely on the results of my own experiments. If it's unclear and you want additional machines added, I'm happy enough to create some more if you give me the parameters you're looking for, it only takes a couple of minutes per created set.

On the Guerilla/other encrypted stuff, I'm sorry but you won't change my mind on it. Anything encrypted goes straight in the bin out of principle, it goes totally against the spirit of this community and modding in general and if it becomes more widespread, all the knowledgeable/helpful people that offer advice and improvements on threads like this will slowly move on to other games and projects.

I like it a lot. Those curbs are crazy,... :)

I have a request, more a wish i guess. I like Hungaroring from ACU 2019 version a lot, but i just hate this modern F1 signage wit rolex everywhere. It also used to be a regular DTM track until 2018. So it could use a DTM skin and other great improvments from you. :)

Misano is the other one. Good track, nice layout, bad markings around the track. Also a DTM regular, to keep with your recent trends. :)

Quick summarize of my prob with Zolder (pascalwb´s version) from yesterday. I spended 6-7 hours testing, reinstalling, reseting, switching and I don´t know what else, I can´t, wan´t to see that track for a while now anymore. :(
Loved it so far, but I´ve to take a break now from that track.

For sure it´s not related on @PepperoniAC24 skin. Sorry again, if it sounded so.
Just by chance that I wanted to test the skin and the track was not working anymore. But imo the track didn´t worked before too, I just didn´t drove it for at least the last 3-4 weeks.
So, everybody should test the track before (if you like to take risks), and if track works fine it should work with Peppi´s skin just fine too. :)

If you´re getting dark grey/black tracks, you can test reinstalling graphic card driver (didn´t helped on my side, just resetting driver settings completely). Some mentioned disabling "force uav flag, adv." could, should help. On my side, at least after getting these black tracks, it didn´t helped. Maybe unticking it "before" starting Zolder?
Changing PP filter helped somehow, but after all these hours spending on that problem, I can´t exactly define what to do in what order.

I´m happy, my AC is working again as it should. It took a lot out of me yesterday.
So for now I´ll give up searching to fix it somehow and unfortunately avoid pascals Zolder version like the devil the holy water.

Very strange to hear all this.
It was about a week I last used Zolder (PascalWB), reading about all these conflicts, I still took the risk (without installing Peppi's skin) and I had no issues whatsoever.
Sorry for all people who had trouble. I am a bit reluctant to try the new skin though...

The new skin should be fine mate.
What was weird with my black screen was that the only way to clear it was to reinstall GPU drivers, so whatever Zolder was breaking it was either affecting my drivers or affecting some setting that gets reset when drivers are updated.
I've used that track a lot in the past without issue so it's something that's been introduced since then. CM, CSP, and Sol have all been updated in the interim, so logic says it's related to one or more (but probably not Sol or CM, more likely CSP and one of it's gazillions of variables).
Anyway, that track is now binned.

Hi,

I did all the steps, then deleted the car in CM, copy & past the new one from the desktop (with all the new name modifications) to the CM cars folder,
but the got this.

What might went wrong? :ouch:

When I had problems duplicating a car I needed to unpack the data file before making a copy of the folder and then either repack or delete the original packed file after I'd made the changes

No risk at all, if the track work without, it's gonna work with it, it's logical and rational, it's just picture and nothing else, no code, it's really superficial, it doesn't go in core game engine, do not change the kn5 or something else, just do not overwrite your edit files if you got already one working, but if I remind, I think it's your edit files that I use to fix the grass problem so...

Edit: disclaimer, I got rare case of people reporting that it can make the milk sour, but be assure that is really rare case, no problem, really be confident :)

Ok I'm gonna have a look at the car and see what happened. I'll message you and talk you through it there if you want as well.

Hi guys, I have a mod of the porsche rs spyder of rtm. I would like to change the problem with the gearbox, which is manual, when in reality it is sequential. Would anyone know how to help me?

Open car folder, data folder and drivetrain.ini -> find the line 'SUPPORTS_SHIFTER=' and change the value from 1 to 0. Job done.

If there's no data folder then in content manager go to content, cars, Porsche RS Spyder, unpack data, then go to the car's data folder and delete data.acd. Then follow my first instruction.

Appeal to everyone!
Some of you most likely do not understand that DSP updates are testing. It's good that you find bugs and report it to the developer - this is a huge contribution, I appreciate it! But, if you want to play without problems, use what is recommended!
No need to include updates from untested versions in CM!

With CSP, it’s even easier - it clearly says what is recommended and what is being tested

Sol - get an official update on RD.
Maybe I helped someone, or maybe I'm just an old imbal, but many are annoyed by these errors, and the solution is very simple!
