Round 4 live
Out of interest, do you have specific number of rounds in mind?

Anyway seem to be struggling a lot for pace on this new round. Can only potentially do at best a time in 1:45's unless I find something big in setup. Might just leave it at following time, that chicane is annoying.

I plan to host 10 rounds.

Once again Saidur, I am tantalisingly close to your time but I just can't get out of the 47s. I can do lap after lap after lap in the 47 range but even on a lap where I think I was flying and the car was hitting the apexes this is the best I could muster. Sadly I've come to realise I certainly couldn't race for an income lol but at least it's fun.

This is stock setup with 5L of fuel on board.

I tried some setups I found online, this one seems the best and did some tweaks to it to suit me using setup info from other's setups. I have attached it. Think it should be possible to do a time in 1:44's with it, maybe even lower. Improved my time with it although I messed up the last sector which was quite costly for ranking on RSR. Anyway you should be able to improve by quite a bit as it feels much better than stock setup IMO.

Thanks for the setup, I tried it out and improved my time by 7 tenths.

That setup is has quite short gearing, I've always shifted before the engine starts making that pinging sound which is well before the rev limit, should I be shifting later because this setup has it well into pinging revs down the straight in 6th.

I just shift when shift lights turn red. I tend to use higher gears so it feels sort of like having long gearing. Well done on the improvement. 👍

I hope the closing date includes the 30th of August ... I hopefully have some spare time as soon as I wake up again.

Oh well, at least I tried. Had a hard time getting there, turn 2-3 and 5-6 are extremely hard to nail for me. Maybe I'll try again in the evening, although I doubt it ...

Probably gonna try again tomorrow if I have the time.
Probably can improve by another second but don't really want to drive for too long but may have to if you beat my time. Lost a lot in the last sector on my fastest lap. Quite fun car to drive this M3. 👍

I don't think I'll beat your time, though.

Update: I wasn't able to even just improve my lap time ... not all too happy to be honest, considering I knew I could improve.

I know where I could improve too but it wasn't happening for me so I called it a day at what I did. Doubt I'll get to it again.

At 10PM UK time this round will be over and round 6 will start when I update the OP again tomorrow.

@Saidur_Ali Don't have time sadly, earliest chance I may get is Thursday
Will be interesting to see how you do in next round then, best of luck. 👍

Here is a scruffy lap to get ahead for this round, dropped about 4 tenths in two of the corners and might be costly in getting first if someone does a better time by 10PM. Didn't have more time to pull of a decent lap so this will be it for me in this round.

Question: Setup changes allowed or not? Because most likely I will just run stock on quickest tyres and lowest fuel load

Setup changes are allowed. Only thing you can't do is use an upgraded version of the car (unless the upgraded car is listed in the eligible car list).

Setup changes are allowed, I try and use RSR and RaceDepartment for setups and then tweak them if it feels better than stock. The M3 for current round, you can't change much so I just put the fuel load down to 3 and mess around with tyre settings until I get a decent balance. Didn't seem to affect car too much though as I kept on doing similar sector times but I'm a bit clueless when it comes to setup changes.

I have literally NO clue when it comes to setups. I just stiffen the suspension a little, lower the ride height, put the boost up to maximum and put the softest tyres on. Obviously only for cars that I can change that stuff.

I don't even know that much.

I tend to just follow the settings from best setups I can find on the Internet. I really need to one day read up on all what these changes do and understand it.

I tried doing a fancy setup like the ones I'd use in iRacing with a ton of camber and minimal tire pressures but it was actually slower than baseline. So now I'm using baseline with -.1 more front toe and 5 psi lower tire pressures.
