Well, after revisiting the game in... forever... I've finally changed my mind about the game... it's actually a damn good game! Sure, it does take quite a while to get used to the cars (I'm still trying to get used to driving with 0% steering assist... once you've lost control, that's it, it's nearly impossible to recover from at speeds over 100mph), but it's a hell of a lot of fun to drive. My maxed out MX5 is a really fun car to throw around (although it is murderous if you go anywhere near a kerb or get on the brakes hard), and overall it's a great driving engine/physics model. I do like the majority of the tracks (the hairpin at Forest Path is hell in a light car as you get instant brake lockup, even with ABS on); they're great fun to drive.
EDIT: Running with ~90% steering assist seems like the way to go. You get good turn in and the assist does the rest. Turning it to zero basically makes the car drive on ice.
However, I would suggest these things:
- An ability to save setups for each track (so my MX5 setup with X parts on it with Y setup at Z track could be loaded at any time)
- An ability to share setups on a community network and rate setups as well as an ability to charge some money (3-4k credits maximum + all unowned upgrade costs) for a setup
- More effective ABS for lighter cars
- Variable severity of ABS and traction control
- A "reset to default" button on car setup as well as an "undo" button for setup
- The ability to test drive every car in the game (mentioned before, but still needs to be done)
- Seasonal events like GT6 with prizes for beating target times?
- An ability to set "rivals" so you can compare times between tracks and cars/setups
- Possibly a credit quadrupler for about 8 dollars or so (having the X2 and the X4 would mean getting X8 prize money?)?
- Race mods! Please!
- The ability to purchase cars with both types of currency (not just coins for some cars)
- The ability to convert coins into credits and vice versa (if this is not possible already)
- Upgrades bought for a car should factor into its sale price (more upgrades = higher sale price)
- Hitting a kerb = death (at least for light cars, maybe adjustable dampers could fix this?)
Overall, again, this is a great game. Keep up the good work!
EDIT EDIT: I also just got the Sagaris. Great, crazy car... but on Blue City I'm having issues with the car randomly stopping accelerating and tapping the brake, and then randomly turning into an automatic gearbox for a second or two before handing control back to me. This has happened on at least one occasion.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: The car is also now just randomly downshifting and has even put the car into reverse at some points! Restarting the game has NOT fixed these issues. This is for both the unmodified and modified car.
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: It appears that when I plug my iPad into any outlet or USB port when the glitches happen. If it's not plugged in (as of thus far), then it's okay.
