Today for the Driver-In-Focus interview, we have, without a doubt, the most dominating driver on our grid, @mustafur.
1. What drew you to the ATCC?
Was keen to do some more league races with car tuning which I haven't done for a while as I have been in mostly racing fixed setup leagues.
2. Do you have any real-life racing experience? (I.e; karts, track-days)
I used to do Karting on a weekly basis for the last few years at my local track with Hire karts, I'm now getting back into it in preperation for GT Academy, apart from that I have done some one off Drives in a V8 Holden Monaro Race car at Eastern Creek in a ride day.
3. What's your biggest Gran Turismo Racing Achievement?
If time trials count I would say Qualifying for the Australian GT Academy Final last year.
Actual racing wise I would say any time I beat Warrior2167 in a race lol.
4. Which ATCC race are you most looking forward to?
Bathurst obviously.
5. Which ATCC race are you least looking forward to?
I don't really dislike any tracks really, I like the challenge each present.
6. How do you get prepared for a race, whether in the virtual world or real world?
If there is alot of pressure involved then I would watch a Comedy TV show to settle me down (Like Family Guy, Watch Russel Peters, Top Gear etc), otherwise I don't really have a preperation. As long as I feel calm I can perform good.
7. What's your favourite Racing Discipline? (I.e; Open-Wheel, Touring, Endurance)
To watch Open wheel, to race Touring Cars.
But I'm starting to get interested in WEC.
8. Who's your favourite racing driver of all-time?
I don't have a fixed favourite driver but I have many drivers I admire namely:
Daniel Ricciardo
Kamui Kobayashi
Micheal Schumacher
9. What would be the biggest racing event in the world, in your opinion?
Well I know Le Mans 24hr is the biggest single event, but the Bathurst 1000 is my favourite single event.
10. Finally, what are your aspirations for the ATCC?
To win the championship.
Great interview! There's no doubting what Mustafur wants to do in the ATCC, with a straightforward answer, now we wait to see if he can snatch the inaugural Driver's Championship for the ATCC in an absolutely dominant stint as a Wildcard.
