Attack in Berlin

Some real 🤬 is going on around.
I also heard there was a shooting in an Islamic center in Zurich, Switzerland.
 
Sky news and Fox is reporting that one person is dead, multiple people is injured.

EDIT: Authorities are saying that the crash is an attack now.
 
I'm rather hoping it was an accident but given the recent climate it could very well be terror related.

Tragic nonetheless.
 
FOX is reporting that several people are now dead, and at least 50 people are injured. They also report that the attack was planned.

EDIT: Now 9 dead.

EDIT: Tabloids in Germany reports that the driver is now on the run.

EDIT 2: The Driver and a passenger are now either arrested or dead according to German police.

How surprising, in no way did I expect such thing to happen this time of the year in the EU.

RIP to the victims of this completely avoidable tragedy.

As a side note, several would-be terrorists were arrested for planning a terror attack on Christmas festivals here in Austria.
 
No doubt that if the attacker was a white Christian the same people that carry #NotAllMuslims and cry racism if you mention IS would go on a personal witch hunt to lynch him themselves.

Of course they would. Whoever did this is an absolute 🤬 regardless of their background. I don't care which gods he did, does, didn't or doesn't believe in. A 🤬 is a 🤬 if they do horrible things like this.

Are you intimating that super inclusive withering fiberals don't find these things horrendous?

Same could be said about the right in opposite situations. Both sides are equally hypocritical when it comes to stuff like this, so can we all just stop pointing it out already?

Every time there's a killing, the internets fill up with people patting themselves on the back for pointing out the hypothetical hypocrisy of the "other side" in imaginary scenarios. It's so very wearisome.
 
Been listening to the news since I got home today. Precisely at the time this happened in Berlin I was in a christmas market in Hamburg. I can't imagine the panic of those people. I mean, in Hamburg, there were tons of people walking around, shopping, eating Currywurst and drinking Glühwein, having fun... Wow.

From what I've heard, the truck belongs to a polish company that earlier today reported it had been stolen or highjacked. The driver allegedly said during the last contact (16h00 CET) that he was in an area with a large Muslim population. (Source was a polish news website. I don't have the link here because I was just listening to this).

The second person on the truck was dead but we don't know yet how he died or if he's the actual truck driver from whom the truck was stolen.

(Take this with a grain of salt cuz it didn't came from the police)

The federal police took over the case, which is a good sign (transparency wise).

Meh it's bad enough we get more bombings around the world at Ramadan now we have terror at Christmas too. What a world we have to look forward to in the coming decades.

The cheerful thing is the markets are (so far) unperturbed. Business is as usual and the money keeps on moving. Germany has made its bed with immigrant Muslim factory workers going forward into the deep demographic/economic future, and now they will damn well sleep in it. Alles ist in ordnung.
 
A man arrested under suspicion of ploughing a 7-tonne truck through a Christmas market in the heart of Berlin, killing 12, has been named in German media reports as Naved B, a 23-year-old asylum seeker of Pakistani origin.

No official confirmation has been provided at this time.

The suspect was picked up about 2 kilometres (1½ miles) away from the scene of the attack in which 12 were, near the Victory Column monument.

Berlin's public radio station RBB-Inforadio reported that the suspect was a Pakistani citizen who entered Germany on Dec. 31, 2015, citing an unnamed security source.

This partly concurred with those in other German media.
