No, no more monthly DLC, so no August DLC. The Jalop pack must be included in the 'further DLC packs this year' they mention in the new blog.

They're working on the next big thing, so that'll be FM4 with Kinect slapped on, no doubt. Great...

Fail.

"Hey guys, the Jalopnik DLC will be released sometime during the summer." "Hey guys, apparently we've effed something up somewhere down the line...so while we're focusing on our next big thing keep the hope alive, and remember DLC hasn't been forgotten in it's entirety."

WTF? Just, WTF?

Che posting almost exclusively on NeoGAF, ignoring issues in the game, failing to return the online section to how it was known and loved in FM2 and now this. It's a dreadful kick in the teeth month after month for the fans. It's the guts of a great game, rushed by MS. T10 would be so much better off as a third party studio, so they could take the amount of time needed and not marching to the beat of MS' drum.

I have another point of view:

1) Che is an douche and doesnt represent what Turn10 is.
2) They thought the match making would be better, it was not, but they CANT change game that much after is done, yet they fix the most that they could and keep making hoppers acording people prefereces.
3) Month after month they released DLC and supported their game while other developer doesnt even release anything.

And yes sometimes i would like Turn10 been a second party developer but they wont have as many resources. What i would like more is MS letting them having more time.

che quit working for turn 10 last month. it doesn't excuse him from ignoring everyone for months, but at the very least he's no longer there to ignore everyone in the future.

Many wish this would have happened. But it took them until now to announce production/stock car hoppers.

With July’s release of the World Class Car Pack, monthly DLC releases have come to a close, as Turn 10 shift its development efforts to our Next Big Thing. While the monthly schedule might be ending, we haven’t forgotten DLC entirely and you can expect more DLC later this year. Stay tuned here for more information in the coming weeks.

Hmmm, that is disappointing. I'd like to hear what Jalopnik has to say about this, and I'm pretty sure their word on the deal should be coming through shortly.

So it clearly says no August pack but we're not necessarily done with DLC. Some of you guys are jumping the gun a little.

I don't think they are. T10 waited until when they're supposed to announce the August carpack and go "oh, yeah, we're not doing monthly car packs anymore."

I think the Jalopnik is the last DLC pack they're working on, but it's taking them a while to get all the information together. Some of those cars are rare and hard to find. You can't just go down to Jay Leno's Garage and record all their sounds and stuff.

Let me clarify, I meant we're clearly done with monthly DLC. Not done completely with all DLC.

Seems it might be released in the next 5 months then?

Before this thread I wasn't counting on it arriving this summer as modeling all that is not easy. I don't know how their schedule is but was expecting October to December looking at the workload.

I aswell think the Jalopnik is going to be released and it will be probably the last DLC, but if Turn10 need more time find X car i would appreciate them telling us that before and not like this.

What piss me off a bit is that they waited until last minute, i was pretty sure the Jalopnik was comming because of the no spyshot contest and the Badned hints with even a picture of the Starion.

From a business point of view this is not good for T10. If they release any DLC down the line i won't sell as good as others, why, because GT5 comes in 3 months, and TDU2 in two, plus other great games are coming.

Unfortunately this isn't surprising for me, this game wasn't designed (might be in the beginning) to beat Forza 2 or GT5 and that is a big shame for us (customers). I am hoping Forza 4 will be better, but from what T10 has though me, i will wait few months and then consider of buying Forza 4. They fooled me once but it want happen again.

They'll no doubt be forced to integrate Kinect on MS' insistence and no doubt that will eat into time that could have made it a really great sim package.

I'm abandoning MS if Kinect creeps into too many core games and dilutes the game itself, because if I wanted motion control, I'd own a Wii, like anyone with sense will if they are looking at getting a Kinect.

I don't think they'll really care. They already got the pack of cars they picked personally a few months ago.

The business plan is dictated by Microsoft, if they say : drop the monthly DLC then Turn10 have to do it, thats how it works, but to be honest none of us even know how well or bad were the sales of the DLC packs.

In my opinion Forza 3 was made to be better than Forza 2 an in the most of things is far better, they thought the matchmaking was better, they are were wrong but the team doesnt lack in effort at all, they did cockpits views for 400 cars, 400 high quality models, better sound recording, bring back Fujimi Kaido by popular demand, etc etc .
Plus they supported their game more than any other developer of racing games out there in consoles, theres already 9 DLC without counting the ones in the box or the VIP, im just talking about the carpaks and the nurburgring, also we are probably getting another one atleast, maybe more ,and lets not forget about the official competition and overall communication.

Rare is taking a huge blow but i feel that Turn10 is not really compromised, with kinect they are adding yet another layer of help for more unexperienced people, that allways has been their vision but again is totally optional, for the hardcore they are adding headtracking which is awesome. The walking around the car idea is pretty cool in my opinion, im a big car fan and i love the idea move moving around of them. Also i think that photografers are going to love that integrated in the photomode.

It seems that Turn10 could be making weather for Forza4 ,im especulating about the artworks in turn10 studios, the ones that apear after the release of Forza 3. A bigger roster of cars, more tracks, and i hope the return of the public lobbies (unless MS shoved them that matchmaking thing and they cant change it).

The graphics needed for walking around the car and the interior will require a lot of time and that's just modeling the majority of the existing 500 car roster, let alone new models. The vast amount of time that will require is what worries me when I say time will be diverted from the core game to add a gimmick that requires an overpriced peripheral.

The 3d models are already done, have you ever look closely the 3d models of the menus or the phote mode? they are stupidly high detailed. Some of those just need a better texture work especially in those where most of the interior color is grey but the 3d model itself is dont already in great detail.
Those 3d models will probably are going to be used in the next gen gameplay.

The 458 Italia model didnt have many changes, they just had to model the inbetween doors, the rest was already done. What i dont expect is too see all those extreme close ups for every car.

Finally you have to remember, Turn10 doesnt work on the 3d modelling of the cars, they have an outsource company for that so its not going to take time of a weather system or something like that.

Maybe they are working on something to be released on November 2nd and 16th :). Was hoping for the a 2011 Sonata Turbo.

I'm going to try to qualify my statement here by saying that I USED to be a big Forza/T10 fan.

They are not doing a good job.

FM3 is half finished. Most of the 'lovely interior models' aren't lovely at all. They are poorly modeled, poorly textured, and very sterile feeling. Exterior models are noticeably better than FM2, with the caveat being that SOME of them are noticeably better.

There are numerous (being kind here) bugs and glitches that have not been fixed since launch, and instead they devote all of their DLC to making money off their user-base instead of fixing the core problems with the game. I think they initially promised a track pack every 3 months? We received one track, that should have been included at launch, and they even had the audacity to charge for it.

The rampant laziness and cost cutting is apparent. A rep from Microsoft was asking around the RX7 club for cars to record for the R20b sound for the Mazda furai. Several people offered their cars to be recorded (for free mind you) but in the end, they just faked the sound anyways (confirmed by that rep) Now that isn't to say that they should have waited months (like PP would do) to record just that car, but they didn't have to. It is just so frustrating to me that they would charge full price for something that is incomplete, and T10 has repeatedly done this. Maybe it has more to do with pressure from MS, but it still bugs me.

Oh I already downloaded a couple of free DLCs for Red Dead Redemption, LittleBigPlanet, EndWar (only for a limited time) and some more games, can't remember all.

But it is kinda rare.

I dissagree wit the poorly modeled, i know a thing or two about 3d modeling and the models itself are VERY well done. Sure i agree that some cars doesnt have a colourfull textures and in some cases they are rushed BUT, blame Microsoft for that, not Turn10, they did the best they could with the time they have, they did LOTS! of work, more than 400 car models with cockpits (now is 500).
Turn10 cant tell microsoft: hey we need another year or 2, like other developers do.

But you forgot to mention that they have release like 4 patches for the game, they probably had a limited resources to fix bugs.
So then again you can blame Microsoft for : dont give them the time they needed to make the game pretty much bug free and making them work for the next game right after they finished Forza 3.
You are confusing lazyness with tight time schedule.

You are taking one example to say they are lazy, but what about ALL the other cars they recorded and put on they dyno? theres lots of picture of them and you are talking just 1 car of the 500, which is a prototype. Maybe Turn10 used the RX7 sound of the car they recorded for the RX7 of the game.
I wont tell you that i belive that the Furai is the only case but again they recorded LOTS of cars and many of them are hard to find. Do you know another game that recorded more than 200-300 cars? i dont, probably not even GT.

Forza 3 was half ass job to begin with, all they did was used the source code from FM2, added some new car, new menu layout and events, and added interior view.

1/3 the cars don't even have working gauges. not to mention alot of features in FM2 was actually removed in 3, boost gauge and ability to paint brake caliper are 2 i could think of straight from my head.

and if its not a half ass job, I don't know what is.... cars don't even have active aero. even a PSP is capable of producing models with active aero, don't tell me the 360 can't do the same.

even EA wasn't that lazy with NFS Shift!

btw, Turn 10 have like 3 times the people working on Forza than PD have people working on GT5

Why go through the trouble of recreating a game from scratch when you can just build off of a previous foundation? Especially considering the possibility that the choice might not even be their own...

True. However, all of the cars have an interior view. I'll just leave it at that.

even EA wasn't that lazy with NFS Shift!
*Makes loud buzzer noise.* Want to try that one again? Shift has no active aero animations whatsoever. The physics are, well, ridiculous. The livery editor is ridiculous, and it's capable (the game itself, not the livery editor) of corrupting your gamesave...so, yeah, EA wasn't lazy with it...no, not at all.

Here are some bugs that have been there since launch, that seem like they should be fairly high priority to fix:

Hang ups on loading (i get these from time to time)
Speedometer/other clock needles rotating on a different axis than the gauge (so they go into the dashboard)
Audio glitches (such as when the game changes music tracks and all sound freezes for 2 seconds or so)
All together missing gauges (like completely blank LCD screens in quite a few race cars)

This isn't a bug, but what happened to exhaust tone changes with performance upgrades? Half of the cars sound like racecars totally stock, and some will still sound totally civil when fully modified. Looking back to FM1 the 20B actually sounded like a 20b!

FM1 had night racing too, complete with headlights! I've never seen a working headlight in FM3.

FM has some of the best car sounds for a video game (this side of PGR4, which is nearly perfect) but the disparity between the ones that are really good and the ones that aren't is huge.
