* Only SAR/MNR driver in the race
** Assumed only raced in MNR. If these driver/s did take part in SAR, please list your points from that. You have until the next SAR meeting to confirm.
*** Drivers have yet to post their results. Finishing positions above currently reflect images of race results posted. You have until the next SAR meeting to post your results or else the points stay as shown above.
I know there was a 'rule' somewhere about needing a minimum of 2 SAR/MNR drivers for the race to be counted. I understand that the point of this was to stop a driver from purposely missing the race, claiming it was the games fault and then racing by themselves to victory/full points. However it also punishes driver/s like in the above scenario. I've turned up to race (possibly vrrrm as well), entered on time, nobody else has chosen to turn up & I get penalised. Furthermore race 1 in SAR may have been completed no problems with a few drivers.
If it's deemed race 1 for MNR is not counted I accept that because the understanding was there when we started. Going forward though for our next championship, surely we could come up with a different system that doesn't penalise drivers who do the right thing.
Perhaps something like a trust system? In our racing we all trust the current drivers that they don't purposely run into each other or create incidents. Why can't this be applied the same way? I know that all the guys I'm racing wouldn't purposely miss a race, just so they could be by themselves to get a win.
Alternatively we could do something like, if you're a new driver (who has not taken part in at least 1 SAR/MNR championship) and this happens to you, then the race doesn't count OR half points. However if you're an experienced SAR/MNR driver (at least 1 SAR/MNR championship), then we take your word for it and the results in your race stand. That way it doesn't let new drivers whom we have never raced before/for extended periods of time, potentially take advantage of the system.
Thoughts?
