Autolog addiction

It certainly is very addictive. I just wish they'd break the career records and track records into classes, I have no interest in some of them (retro Euro etc) using a 2000PI car just to get a record, but I'd love to be fighting for records around class C/D.

That's why my favourites are the events where you're forced to use a particular car, because those ones are down to player skill only :)

Its all down to player skill--- the skill to choose a good car, the skill to upgrade it properly, the skill to tunned it right and the skill to know how to cheat... kidding

Hey brambos, been playing in the D-class again have we? I got you back at Riviera, so take that! But, I couldn't beat that Shanghai time in my Renault. May have to scheme a different plan. :sly:

Hi,

Been reading through this thread and very like minded drivers out here. While PSN was down I redid D and C and been working on B today. PSN came back up and low and behold 2 world records from trying to beat my own times as I could not see anyone else's.

My friend's list has not been very active lately and Shift 2 for me is going to have a very very long life, so if anyone would like to add me, I'll be happier than a rabbit with 3 penises..(I read that somewhere, thought it was hilarious.)

Does anyone feels like Autolog prevents you from complete the career mode?

I find myself spending more time trying to beat my ... "friends" :D times in previously done events than trying to complete the career mode which is only at 59%

That and competing in Renown's WTC but Autolog is crazy addictive.

Your not along. I haven't advanced past Modern B due to this. Thats a good thing though. It means the game has serious replay value. I have been having so much fun that I have only driven like 8-10 of the tracks. Last night was the first time that I jumped on the Ring, Spa and Bathurst just to check them out in a tuning session. These three tracks alone made this game an easier buy for me.

Speaking of the Ring, I have read some of the complaints about Shift's version of it. And I must say that some of you guys will complain if you won the lottery. Not only is the track's width okay but for the most part it just as GT5. Its not wide at all like some complained about. A few elevation changes, sharper/gradual/ turns here and there but the layout replicates GT5 if you ask me. Only a side by side comparison will show the differences. Who's to say that PD modeled the track wrong. Everyone assumes PD is 100 percent flawless. If they are flawless, GT5 would be flawless and we all know that its far farrrrr from that.

Have to get back at it then :)

But how is it possible you are almost a minute faster on some tracks? Almost as if one of your laps wasn't counted in the time!?

Also: it's clear I can't beat wheel users. I'm looking at you RomKnight! A wheel seems to easily make you 3 seconds faster than a controller in the D class... Hrrrm.

That minute or more was because of a bug which did not count the 1st lap sometimes. Like my 6:52 in Invitational C . I've beaten the Reginal record yesterday with a 7:43:430 but I haven't beat my time because of that. They cleaned the region an world records but did nothing to the speed wall :(

And please don't say I'm having an easy time. I've spent a lot of time on D class since I opened this thread to hold my position :D

in italy regional record are not cleaned, for ex i see regional record on 53 second in 2 minutes races.

I remember I had one event where that happened, and it didn't count my first lap. I was the world record holder! Is that still there? I don't remember which event it was.

As good as Autolog is, I still wish that would make some improvements to make it even better. I would like to be able to see the times of all Friends, not just 5-6. For example, I get an alert that someone has beat my time, but when you go to that race, you can't see their time unless it is either #1 or within a couple of slots from you. I would think that would be a simple change. They could just put a scrolling box in place of the list of 5-6 Friends.

Maybe I did not hit one of those yet. I did not check all the events. If / when I stumble upon such a situation i'll post about it.

Autolog does that. You are talking about the speed wall.

@buzii No, unless they are close to you. You always end looking at the speedwall for that even through autolog.

I just discovered 3 guys have 100% career completed looking at regional records on autolog :D I still have many kms before me until I reach 100% :D (yeah, that damn autolog again) :P

@tribolik don't be.. i'm having an hard time on that one. That was FAST. I've beaten the other times there though :D

I just spend a couple of hours trying to beat my time at Monza, Jr. in several different D-Class cars. All I did was improve my own time, but didn't move up in ranking. Addicting? Ummmm...yes.

@ RomKnight and StarFirebird.

Been chasing you guys all night, thanks for adding me (I think), almost broke the controller!

I was chasing someone else last night and i could have ripped my steering wheel off  I think i need to take a break from this game for a bit.I'm starting to get a bit too competitive.

Now this morning i think i'm just going to play something nice and relaxing like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012.

Thanks to RomKnight and Arvore Ive just set my first reginal record ever :D after half an hour of pure frustration... Ive done it :D It may not be for long but while it lasts Im happy... thats the good news.

The bad news is that with this Autolog commitement I had to crank up the AI to hard and they still dont put up a fight anymore :(

Who is this antagonizer you speak of?

GTP_MuoNiuLa

This guy is good.Very Very fast and has bested some of my times so far.

I'm not the fastest, but this guy pushes me to be even faster.Which isn't a bad thing...well except for the frustration part

You guys are brutal. Every time I beat a time and move up on my speedwall, 2 minutes later I get a message telling me someone beat my time already!
