To be fair with you, Yukino, I also have a soft spot for the YRV. Maybe it's related to the fact that there's one for sale near the area where I live. I keep entertaining myself with the thought that when I get my driving license, I'll go to the car dealer and drive it home. Daihatsu itself has been a pet love of mine, especially with cars such as the Copen. Those cars just bring a smile to my face whenever I see one (which doesn't happen that often in Portugal, by the way)...

SInce the news came to me that the brand Daihatsu was leaving Europe by the end of 2013, my interest and passion for this Japanese brand was growing by the times I saw a Copen, a Cuore Avazzanto or YRV, it was also the moment I decided to sell the Materia because it wasn't that cheap as the 'Matty' seemed to be, also very loud -high gearing- by 120km/h that annoyed me. Another little car came on my path.

Also a car with a quilty pleasure, people in my neighbourhood said to me that I can't be a petrolhead with a car like that? Bullocks. Just as you like those ordinary city cars like it's your own town-Mustang, then you are a petrolhead IMO. So am I :D

It was april '13 and I bought a bright yellow Suzuki Alto with cabrio-softtop. Very cheap, very funny car to drive, but it wasn't that reliable, so, after exactly one year, I bought myself this 'undercover-Toyota' for a good price, very reliable and with 84 Japanese ponies under the hood (and just 920kg), he's fast for a car of his 'genre'. I drove it to Austria with an average of 140km/h :D

You'll need to change your image, it's not showing up on my screen.

The heck is that? I get that it's a Honda, but what model? I don't remember seeing one like that before...

607s have been on my guilty pleasures list ever since I took home a Peugeot brochure in 2000. The first of the X07 designs but carried the chassis over from its predecessor. Late-80s underpinnings for a car launched in 1999.

I'm such a sucker for that rear though:

It looks brilliant for a car technically launched in the last millennium.

Albeit as you say, with 405/605 DNA.

I only have 2 guilty pleasures:
1st:
rs4 avant.jpg

I have a thing for the new RS4 Avant. Practical yet impractical at the same time.

2nd:

I love the late 90s Aston Martin Vantage. I think they look pretty damn good.

Ah, the 607... Really like that car, too bad Peugeot never really made anything similar. Imagine one of these in the new (and vastly improved) Peugeot of today, it would be a great car.

Also, that reminded me of another luxury car that is sort of my guilty pleasure:

Yes, the Lancia Thesis. I don't really know why I like this car, but there you go. I own a local car magazine that only had Diesel cars, and one of their articles featured this. And much like the brand of the car, that magazine is no longer in print. Irony?

That would be the one Italian sedan that most Mafias hate.

A very "unfortunate" looking car but I do kinda understand. Also, donated its rear lights to the Morgan Aero Coupe, so did its bit for automotive history regardless.

Thought of a couple more of mine. The Jeep Patriot:

If I'm to explain, I just like the relatively compact proportions, and the fusion of boxy 1980s-style Jeep lines with the more traditional grille with round headlights. That, and I'm unduly fond of the sort of half-assed cabins you find in Chrysler products of the era. I'm not quite sure why, other than possibly because they're so nasty that I'd not feel bad when the car interior inevitably got a bit dirty, or scuffed, or dusty, or when things broke.

My next is the Dacia Logan pickup:

...because there aren't enough small, cheap pickups like the old VW Caddy about any more. The Proton Jumbuck would also fall under that category, so here's one of those:

You thought that looks "unfortunate", look what I found while searching for that picture:

Yep.

Also, that bit about the Morgan is interesting, never knew about that. At least the Lancia supported a rightful cause, so that's good. 👍

Proton Jumbuck? Talk about a... er, interesting name... And hey, despite being cheap as chips, the Dacia is a great working horse for those without the budget. Same goes for the Jumbuck (damm that name is funny ). Some simply want a car for work, and there's still a need for such a vehicle. The Dacia fills that hole quite nicely, just like the Duster does for cheap 4x4s.
