Right this is the set ups for Monaco for the Toyota 7, again my lvl 21 bob breezed this.

Buy and install Racing Mediums and Lvl 2 Turbo upgrade...not sure how he'll do without the turbo.

Transmission set to 162mph max

Suspension

Camber F 1, R 1.5
Toe F -.1, R -.05 (- is a minus)

Height F -22, R -23
Spring F 17.5, R 18
Damper Extension F 7, R 8
Damper Compression F 8, R 8
Anti-Roll F 7, R 7

Brakes F 8, R 8.

Bob, does need to be pushed hard on the first couple of laps. You should be ok once you get the lead. Dont give up if you have a crash. I've just won it again after 2 crashes, 1 at the chicane and 1 at the turn before the S/F straight.

Make sure to overtake the minute you hit the S/F straight, he can and will overtake all the way up to Casino hairpin.

Ease off at the chicane after the tunnel and try to time it for the last corner of the lap before the S/F straight IF he's sitting behind another car.

you are freaking amazing. This race gave me a heck of a time. 1st time through with these settings won. My b spec was level 25. I used the same settings when I a spec'd to a win as well. I had to join these forums to give you some props!!!!👍👍👍👍👍

I managed to get it yesterday in the Toyota 7, though not entirely without issues.
The key point to the 7 is fitting the high RPM turbo and use a pretty close range gear ratio - I set it up for 260km/h.
I'd tried with mid-range turbo and varying gear ratios, but the 7 revs so fast that high RPM is the only way to go. It'll really boost acceleration a lot.

As many other threads and posts have mentioned, the grid is very important too. 2Js are the only real threat, so try to minimise the amount of them to 1. Another point is that it gets very difficult to pull off a 2J is starting in pole position, so try to get them down the grid a bit. They don't need to be behind you, but a bit down helps a lot.

Lastly, where possible, try not to overtake on the straight through the tunnel, because depending on what car you're trying to overtake, the straight may not be long enough to actually get past, meaning Bob will get stuck on the inside of a car, trying to cut the chicane short, leading him to ram headfirst into the left hand barrier. That's disastrous as he'll generally duly wait for everyone to pass, then slowly reverse and eventually start moving forward again. If it happens, you may as well abandon that try.
Try to continously press Decrease Pace as you hit the hairpins if you're worried you won't pass the car on the tunnel straight. Should keep Bob in check. And definately don't try to pass the 2J there!

Best place to pass cars (since the 7 isn't a rocket through the corners) is the first corner and the straight after it, as well as on the outside of long 2nd corner, inside on the 3rd corner (especially if overtaking one of the sliding GT40s) and finally in the 4th corner (the first hairpin). After the chicane it's damn near impossible.

And watch out for miserable AIs. They'll sometimes pull off the trick in the chicane too and cut it short, leading to them getting stuck on the inside barrier. Especially the 2J and to an extent the 2D. Sometimes it's unavoidable due to the layout of the grid. Some combinations of cars just seem to force that situation. If it happens again and again, get a new grid.

I hope that helps, it's definately beatable.

Thanks, thanks, thanks. I won with the Toyota 7 just using your advice. Thanks again, you sir are Mr Help

Dear god bob won! It took numerous tries with my ice~cold lv 21 bob, but he finally pulled out the win in the 2j, he couldn't seem to get better then 4th with the toyota 7, xj13, or the 330p4... kept reloading the race till the rival 2j started in 5th. By the end of the first lap bob was in first, and finished the race 21sec ahead of the competion. No more walls for me luckily.
Tossed the 2j and toyota 7 in my shared list, so feel free to add me if u care to use em.

My Bob finally made it, borrowed a 2J that was shared (thanks davezilla) and my bob took two trys to make it to the front. then I paced down at the end of the tunnel then two pace ups from the home straight. And he made it in style - with just one mistake.

I won this in B-Spec with a Toyota 7, it took me a few tries. I used a really hot driver O. De La Torre and just kept telling him to Overtake, overtake overtake. and really micromanaged him.

He was also fortunate not to drive into that stupid barrier.

I tried the same Toyota 7 on the same race in A-Spec and couldn't do it, :nervous: that car turns like a brick, it made me appreciate my Bob's driving skill.

For A-spec I borrowed a Chaparral 2J from a friend, which ironically looks like a brick, but actually goes like snot on a chilly morning.

By the way, my Bob was Class 37 when i won this race and my Toyota 7 was not tuned.

Thank you for this. I added you and used your 2J.

Only took my lvl 17 Bob one try with the 2J, he passed the other 2J that was in first in the first lap and then just smoked them all.

It's amazing how much different and how easy it suddenly becomes with the 2J.

Your welcome!
Yea its rediculous, how frustrating it was and how many times bob failed till I got that damn car, then it was no problem for him. First try, he smokes em...glad I could help.

I tried this forever in A and B spec getting close with the countach, once I won the Toyota 7 I won all 4 races..

And last night I borrowed the 2J for a testdrive from Taco (cheers!) and it crushed the field! I think I'll save up for it, hmmm but the Miura ... mmmm

is there a good car to do the cote d'azure race that doesn't cost 15-20 mil?
i used the '70 toyota 7 car i got from another race for a-spec and bob did ok with it on deep forest, but he can't get past 7-8 on the second race. i've tried adding the stage 2 & 3 turbo to it, adjusting the gears and other settings and it didn't help any.
i tried the '74 countach too. he did slightly better with it, but he still can't get past 4th.
i've been keeping an eye out in the ucd but haven't seen anything that looks like it would stand much of a chance. the only ones ive seen have been racecars from dealers, but they're expensive. (haven't made it to 15 mil yet)
any suggestions?

i did it with the 70's race car..

easy for that matter..
was first in the 5th lap

tho my friends bob can't win either on that track with the 70's racer

I did it with the Toyota 7, well when I say "did it" I mean I got 3rd place in B-Spec.

It seems to be down to the luck of the grid. If there are Chapparel 2J's in front of you then you are going to have a hard time. I tried this races lots of times until the grid happened to fall right for me. If you can find a 2J then I'd buy that and use it, if not patience is the key.

i think the '71 chapparel has always in been there, but the problem is i can't even make it within a couple places of him. the other big problem is that mini chicane type thing on the backside of the track, every race either my bob hits it or someone else does then bob rams them and costs me a few places.

Theres a bunch of threads bursting with tips for tuning the Toyota 7 to win the historic cup. Just stick "historic cup" into Search and you'll find em :)

use the slow down before u enter the tunnel and he will clear the chicane (if bob did a good job, he might overtake in the next couple of corners)

just put the big turbo on..

lowered it to 15 all over
and lowered top speed to 280

After using the Toyota 7 with several different setups and still no win,
I decided to try out the GT40! Got to 2nd place, was the best so far,
but no gold even with minor tweaking.
Then I got to the last page of this thread.

I put some 60 kg ballast to rear end of my Toyota 7, and my bob got first in 3rd lap. Try it and win it.

So i added 60 kg, put them way back in my Toyota,
and wouldn't you know it, R.Mcdonald (in his bright red racing suit)
tore that 2J apart after 6 laps and WON!
Thank you, Minimal_me, saved my evening! :)

Indeed, it worked from the first time. In lap 2 and 3 he was behind the 2J, missed the Chicane, but in lap 4, he managed to get close enough to pass him at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks

I didn't have much trouble with this however I left it until later when my bob was around L30. He won it comfortably with a stock Toyota 7.

Bob is doing what he's doing best-being a retard and running into walls.

What's the best car for cote d' azur? The Toyota 7 doesn't cut it as bob is too idiotic to use the accelerator pedal and pass the other racers, or just runs into a wall on the 4th-5th lap.

Trying to catch up on my b-spec events, and Mr. Fassbinder at level 32 still can't drive -_-

Toyota 7 does cut it. I won by 15 seconds with it in B-Spec.

Yes Sir. the 7 is good enough to win even in monaco. In fact I'm a little ashamed because I couldn't win in monaco with the same Toyota 7, only 2nd several times until a good-souled user borrow me a 2J... then with the 2J was an easy win.

Bob beats me... :scared:
