hrm, just started a remote race via g-t.com, but the widget won't log in. just keeps trying to connect every 90 seconds or so.

edit: the 2 posts above me weren't there a few minutes ago... lol.

Yeah look s like servers are down now. I was still signed in before and was able to start a remote race but I tried logging out and logging back in but can't connect to the login server, so the grinder might have some trouble tonight.

I'm currently able to log in to the website and start remote races. I can also view the status of my remote races with the website.

But the grinder times out when verifying internet connection.

Edit: Left it to automatically retry and the next morning it had still not succeeded. Also still able to start and control remote races via G-T.com. This is a US server if that makes a difference.

Yonis,
I'm running a 2+Ghz dual core AMD CPU with 4GB or RAM yet when I attempt to manage my drivers, the GUI is freezing and either becoming unresponsive or turning white completely as though none of the graphics have loaded at all. I then have to wait for it to show again which can sometimes take a few minutes.

I can close the grinder (or widget itself) completely and restart it (which resolves the issue) but I then lose whatever I was going at the time - not a great problem.

This doesn't happen all the time but seems to occur when the grinder has been running for a good few hours. I've checked its' CPU and RAM usage with Process Explorer and there doesn't seem to be excessive use of either.

I wondered if anyone else experienced this and wondered if you - Yonis - were aware of it.
Many thanks

I too can connect to the Gt website but the grinder isn't working. I've set it to the keep trying automatically setting but it's been like that for 3 hours now with no luck :(

I still can't log into the GT website. The Maintenance Notice still pops up when attempting to sign in. Poor widget and PS3 up all night with nothing to do! :dopey:

I can unfortunately report the same issue with the Australian server (if that makes any difference at the verifying stage...), widget times out when trying to "Verify Internet Connection" yet I can control remote races through G-T.com... :nervous: Hope that it is a passing issue.

Any clues in the race logs or debug window?

Although I couldn't use 2.0, v1.1.3 ran like a champ all yesterday, even during times I was having problems logging onto GTHome.

Up until yesterday, 2.0 loaded and ran great for me. I have no idea what happened, but I'm sure it'll get resolved, and I still have Old Faithful (1.1.3) to fall back on.

Strange.

I've been leaving the grinder on while I'm at work for a few days, and today my PS3 got YLOD when I started it up. I thought it was not YLOD, since it actually flashes red, not yellow... So I started up again, and it did start once, so I thought there was no problem. And being an idiot, I did take backups immediately, so, now I have dead PS3 and no backups. :nervous::guilty::banghead:🤬 :(

Well, that's it for grinding for me. :(

Tried to reinstall the widget to no avail. Reloaded and recieved this:

Exactly the same with the UK servers... :indiff:

I think it's the time the widget refreshes that makes it freeze.

(Sorry if that made no sense)

I am aware of this issue... Unfortunately there appears to be performance issues in Yahoo! Widgets when a Widget with frequent and plentiful URL requests like this one is used for a long period of time. On Mac OS X, the issue is more obvious because the Widget ends up using over a hundred megs of private memory.

Unfortunately, I chose to develop this for a dying platform, and I may have to port to native code if I want to resolve this problem with my own memory management code.

Thanks, I'll have a look when I get home... Sounds like they may have changed things around a bit.

If anyone is having issues with the widget connecting, try logging on to either the PSN network or GT5 network (as the widget suggests).

If you can't log in there, the widget most likely can't either.

Finally got all my drivers to level 40 and now i can't even race 'em. Can't login via the website and the widget using a variety of locations. Starting a race manually is possible but horribly slow.

Pretty sure the login server itself is down. I can't login in to gran-turismo.com

I got the same problem here, the widget will not connect.

The widget hangs up on verifying internet connection, and I am also having problems logging into the GT5 website as well.

It seems like everyone is having the same problems. :( The widget has been running great for a week or so for me, must be something wrong with there servers today. It was working great last night also. :indiff:

I haven't been able to connect all day. I installed the widget yesterday and ran races all afternoon. I set it up again before going to bed, excited to wake up to a ton of credits. I woke up and it only ran one race!:banghead: I assume that is when the server issues started. Oh well, will try again later.

Yep, They're doing maintenance, I did just quote myself.

I was using my computer to run remote races from work. I picked up a few new friends, logged out and logged back in to update the list and it now does not even bring up the sign in screen? I think its been hacked! Sony may be just updating their site? Needless to say its very frustrating. If you are logged it, stay that way. DO NOT LOG OUT!

Gutted! was logged on from overnight, a good 8 hours worth of auto RR. Loads of Coinage, logged off this morning to do something else, now wont log in at all!
Oh well no auto remote racing tonight then chaps.:grumpy:
2am here...time to hit the sack, check in the morning:).
