Have you played around with the thread and delay settings under "widget preferences" in the "advanced" tab? I get my best results (16 car fields) with 1 thread with a 10 second delay, but it probably depends on your computer and internet connection.

Not only have I tried that, but even longer delay settings. I have also tried dif servers.

As for my internet connection (Turbo RoadRunner Cable), running the internet connection test on the PS3 shows I have an average download rate of 20Mbps.... which is plenty.
 
I let it run for 2 days. it said it gave me over 3 mil in cr. It didn't give me anything at all! WTF?

NM. I am a idiot. Didn't know you had to claim prizes....

Open yahoo widgets, make sure the grinder widget is closed. Hold down Shift-control, then LEFT click the little two-gear icon on the menu bar at the top of the screen. The next-to-the-last option should be "Debug Mode", click it. Note - most of the time I do the control-shift left click, debug mode doesn't show up the first time, I have to do it a second time.

Thanks Penguin, this does work. I was always trying on the gear on the widget bar. I guess its the gears next to the clock on the mac. Thanks!
 
I've been searching around this thread and on gtplanet and I can't find the answer so I'll ask it:

The grinder widget is only making races with 3 drivers. I can get a full grid if I do it myself from the game or online.

In the manage drivers screen only a few of my friends show drivers, the rest have question marks instead. Any ideas how to fix this? I have restarted both pc and ps3, uninstalled yahoo widgets and reinstalled it along with the widget. I have also messed with the thread and other settings as well.

I've been messing with this for hours and cannot figure out why this wont work!

m1nd64m3 > Have you tried to log into GT5 website.., log out , then in again (to be sure)

If you restarted your PS3 , i guess you logged into GT5 and PSN again... that should be enough.
 
Yonis, I started up 2.0 now (just got home from work, 6a CST) and the box appears, but nothing happens, and there's no words or anything. It was working fine, and I was able to login to GTHome and v1.1.3. With 2.0, I'm unable to race drivers set aside, or even start a race. No messages saying logging in or anything, just the blank box.

ideas? questions?
 
Anyone got any info on track id numbers from Norway or UK? Or anywhere else for that matter. I want to run Grand Valley Speedway. Thanks

Taken from the html source of the "select race"-popup, if you start a remote race from GT5 site (code depends on wich country you selected when you signed in.)
 
Thank you for developing this widget. It is really great and professionally done. One question, can I set how many drivers I want to leave available for each person or only collectively for the always use? Thanks for the answer.

I tried logging in and out of the website and it did nothing. Here is a screenshot of what I get everytime I click on any of my friends from the gran turismo website:

This is really annoying because I leave my ps3 on all night and day doing this and I can only get races with 3-6 other racers.

Hmm..can you see your friends on the PS3? If you can't , then grinder won't be able to either.

If you CAN...try "manually" create a remote race, using your "new" friends..that might kickstart something.

Edit: came to think of,,..maybe your friends need to log out/in to get it working.. just guessing..

- on the PS3 stuff* will update if you go to the very first screen of GT5 (also it will connect to PSN if you have been disconnected ) - just FYI

I can see them on ps3 and on the website and they show up in the grinder but with the question marks.

I tried the manual method but it just went back to the same problem for the next races.

I think your right about the log out/in stuff, the main people who are grinding non-stop that I want to include have not signed off since I started this so that could very well be the reason.

But I'm going to log out, clear my cache, reset router, then delete yahoo widgets and all its data, and reboot and reinstall everything. Hopefully it works!

Also, if anyone wants to add me, my psn is rhinosz1234, I usually leave my ps3 on at night and during the day grinding with the widget (even with the problems).
 
Did all the things I mentioned above and I still have the same problem. Any ideas how to fix this yonis?

I think your friends need to log into GT5 on their PS3s so that Polyphony's servers can see that you guys are friends. You remember that "you are not friends" error you saw when you logged in and tried to access one of their pages? That's the same error the Widget is seeing on the friends with question marks next to their names.

ahhhhhh, thanks for clearing it up, I'll just wait and it should fix itself then.

Any thoughts on making an iphone app? maybe one for jailbroken iphones so you don't have to go thru apples ridiculous process of getting into the app store.
