B-Spec on GT6

Do you want B-Spec on GT6

Only if it is affected by our driving, it learns from your driving style and builds some kind of intelligence, would be awesome. In that way, we could see our b-specs competing online

B-Spec AI would definitely need a complete overhaul if they plan to bring bsck B-Spec for GT6.

GT5 B-Spec AI makes me :ill: :banghead: :grumpy:

Im actually not sure i'd buy GT6 if it didnt have B-Spec. Don't get me wrong , i love A-Spec too, but B-Spec is a different experience, and its this versatility that i love. I completely understand some people thinking its a waste of time, but then each to his own, they dont have to play it if they dont want to. In fact i really dont get why people bother playing it if they dont like it! lifes too short!!

As someone who now only gets very limited time to play games, the B-Spec option gives me a chance to multitask this and anything i need to IRL . Its a different experience so cannot be compared to A-Spec in this respect.
Having spent some time playing it , i think its got massive potential to be developed.

some of the things i'd change/add...

-more multiple driver races/championships. (pit stops get quite tactical when you're drivers have no experience)

-alternate AI command options (i.e. go defensive, pit on lap X, pressure car x)

-race strategy before the race (options to set what driver pits on what lap, how much fuel, what tyres and what pace)

-the option to "borrow" drivers from your friends online drivers lists to make them compete either against or alongside you're own driver/drivers throughout a race or a championship (experience and money gained by borrowed drivers for their owners would be a nice touch, possibly even a car ticket prize if a championship is won)

-larger scope of racing (i.e. rally, same make)

-the option for you to compete along side a B-Spec driver in seasonal events or endurance races.

-An overhaul of remote racing, again it had promise but has been neglected by PD. theres just so many options that can be tweaked here its criminal that its been ignored.

-If a Livery editor comes to light, then it would be possible to run B-spec race teams online against other teams. where your managment and the skill of your drivers comes into play

-The ability to "sell" a driver to someone else

I think part of the reason that B-Spec hasnt had popularity is because its just felt a little incomplete. Theres a lot of improvements that could be made throughout the overall game that would improve this too. Punctures being an obvious one, having to call you're driver in and instruct him to stay slow to bring the car in or retire (in a championship obvs)

im sure i have more thoughts...

Yes, but only if it's improved AND if it doesn't play such a big role, unlike in GT5 where half of the GT Mode events were B-Spec. I really don't like watching a computer drive when I could be driving. It feels like an absolute waste of time, especially if the computer then loses with a car that is much faster than it's opponents.

I have mixed feelings for being able to use A-Spec and B-Spec in the same race. I think that's fine for some endurance races, but some races should still be done (forced) by the player only.

I like B-spec. Because when your B-spec driver drives you can lust leave the game and do something more important things. And when he finish the race you get a car.

My idea for B-Spec is to improve it and add onto it's features, but also to make it completely optional.

I would like to see every A-Spec event become available to B-Spec AFTER you get gold in that event.

The only exception is endurance races. You must drive enduros less then 2 hours long by yourself, endurance races from 2 hours long to 4 hours long allow 1 B-Spec driver, Enduros over 4 hours long or over 800 kms allow 2 B-Spec drivers

Again it's so simple just put B-spec back the way it was in GT4 it was optional then, and in fact it was a nice feature at that point. Because there were a lot of tracks that bored me in GT4 like Apricot Hill (I think that was in there) that I would just bypass using B-spec.

Because B-spec wasn't in this one like it was in GT4 it led me not to complete any endurance races except the first couple.

Again I don't plan to waste a total of 61 hours of my life driving even with the mid race saves. In fact I really wanted B-spec pretty bad with one of the endurance races because I ended up getting sleepy as to how boring it was especially with the lack of competition from the A.I drivers.

I like the B-Spec mode, don't get me wrong...but there's just far too much of it. Having to watch the same career multiple times over to get drivers to peak level is tiring and, to be honest, quite boring :indiff: I like how Forza (I'm not a Forza fan boy but I like what they did here...) allows you the option to let a driver race for you. You don't have to do a whole separate career, but it's there if you want it to be. It's optional :)

For those bashing B-Spec as boring, maybe some like the strategy aspect of it?

Dont get me wrong, I strongly disagree with making it a requirement, but there is alot of peole who like the idea of being a race manager. It just needs to be improved alot like almost everything else in Gran Turismo

MAybe if they make it like it was GT4 make a-spec and b-spec together, so if i want to race o'll race and if i don't feel like racing b-spec is there

Don't get me wrong, I like it! But once you finish all of the B-Spec events, you just keep sending them back to repeat the same races! If we had new, different events, it would be more interesting :boggled:

Quick fix to that would be realtime B-Spec online racing. Offline would be something of a training ground for racing online.

Another idea from a different thread is that you and the B-spec driver race at the same time in the same race!

Now that sounds like something I'd enjoy. I think an improvement for Remote Racing would be, since you have to just sit there and watch anyways, to be able to drive against the other B-Spec drivers.

I'm pretty sure GT6 will have 24 hour races and I know some of us doesn't want to dedicate a lot of time finishing a single race (be it 5 hours a day for 5 days or 24 hours straight). I would love to see B-Spec back but only if it doesn't have its own races and you can switch from A Spec to B Spec like in GT4.

Didn't read all replies but wanted to respond to a couple comments from early on.

1) It was mentioned that you can save during GT5 endurance races. This is true, but sadly wasn't a feature at first, but rather was added after most of us were done and moved on. It only benefits the late-joiners who picked the game up for $20 or whatever long after it was old and gray, and the 5% who continued playing a year or more after release.

2) Someone mentioned not knowing of anybody doing an entire endurance race by themselves, to which someone replied that they did it. The problem is that it was only on a PlayStation game rather than reality, where nobody does a full race by themselves and where no series allows you to.

Personally I detest the B spec mode.

If the AI drivers actually had some ability and some sense I would maybe get into it but it just frustrates the hell out of me how even when you give them a far superior car they get all panicky and start running into the back of the car in front as they are incapable of understanding that all they have to do is bide their time and do them on the straight.

Don't get the strategy thing as to me there is no strategy in the B-spec other than pick a car even your idiot of a driver can't lose in and let them go.

If it had a bit more depth maybe I would get into it but I think it should be separate and not count towards 100% completion.

Of anyone I know who isn't on here who has the game I'm the only one who has bothered completing B-spec because no one else I know is remotely interested in it. I only did it to free the prize cars up.

Personally I would prefer that they added more tracks, depth and variety to the A-spec mode as it seems to be lacking a hell of a lot compared to earlier games. I remember having to battle my way through gradually making my cars quicker and having to fight to go up a level on the earlier games. On GT5 like most on here probably did I was through most of A-spec within a few days of release, while I don't like some of the licence tests and the likes of the Vettel challenge because I think they are to difficult with only having a controller the game just doesn't seem to be the same kind of challenge the games used to be. So I'd prefer to see PD concentrate on making the A-spec career longer, more varied and more challenging and lose B-spec altogether.

I want the B-spec mode back, purely because i'm lazy and its easier to go on my second account and race my first accounts bobs for a while. I don't think i've done an Offline race in months now.

The only way I'll do B-Spec is if you can change out your driver to yourself in Endurance races. Another suggestion is to have the driver a bit, ummm......faster or more knowledgeable of the track and drivers.
The only B-Spec race other than the FGT championship, and a couple endurance races, I have yet to get the Monaco Historic race. The reason why is because ALL drivers ALWAYS hit the wall at the bottom of the hill coming out of the tunnel attempting a pass. What's even stranger is that it happens on the 2nd lap.

SO TRUE :yuck:. I went to B-spec level 29 :banghead: ONLY to get the GT40 prize car, but I should have saved my brain and just watched the UCD.

I actually went to A-Spec Level 40 only using A-Spec (no Seasonals) so you can imagine all the grinding of say the Indy 500, or even three times of doing the 24h Le Mans. It would have been nice to have a little help as in GT4, but I'd rather have the Endurance races require 33% or more of the driving by you, with help from B-Spec if you desire (if it works correctly).

No B-Spec standalone unless it's under Arcade mode or Special, far less emphasized... or even better, the game can track how much you accomplish in A-Spec and B-Spec, but as in GT4 the events should not be separate, and you should be able to get 100% completion with little or no B-Spec play.
