B-Spec on GT6

Do you want B-Spec on GT6

They need to make the B-Spec drivers somewhat independent out on the track. We shouldn't be constantly telling them hold pace, slow down, or speed up, or even tell them to overtake. That stuff should come naturally.

What I'd rather have is for us to set a target lap time that the B-Spec drivers tries to stay close to. And when the driver gets tired, the times obviously get less quick and mistakes being made here and there. So far, the strength and mental gauge really don't do anything besides getting empty.

No, please no B-Spec in GT6. All we need is a decent saving system and B-Spec becomes pointless

Imagine all the wonderful A-Spec content we could have if great big dollops of disc space wasn't wasted on B-Spec

None, because B-Spec is for the most part nothing but lines of code (much of it copied from A-Spec at that), and GT5 doesn't even take up all of a single layer BD anyway.

You do know that you can save the endurance races right?

So if you only can play like maybe 4-5 hours a week you can do the 24 hours races over a month or so.
Of course it is possible that you'd like to go online and play or something while in the race, but thats how it is now at least.

I wouldn't say it's 24 hours waste of my life to drive the endurance races.
I think its a great experience in a game I really enjoy.

But yeah, thats my opinion, and no offense intended. :)

The only problem with this option is you can't do anything else in the game until you finish the race. I'd like to be able to save an endurance race in either a or b spec and then go do something else like race online or speed test or whatever.

I actually liked B-spec in GT4, where it made sense and wasn't in the way. The speed up option and the fact your B-spec driver can help you finish endurance races were my favorite parts of it. Not to mention, you didn't have to constantly watch over your driver like you have to do in GT5.

If PD implement B-spec into GT6 the exact way it was in GT4, then it's more than welcome.

If they do bring B spec in GT6 i want each driver to have a profile of what they have achieved career wise so that its easier for us to put them in the races that will get them to finish their career off

I voted Yes, but only if it is improved. I would like to see your B-Spec drivers race with you in Endurance races like the Nurburgring 24hr.

The people who frequent this forum are generally hardcore gamers, many very skilled at racing, but there are lots of people who buy the game and play the game who haven't got those skills (yet) - for them B spec is a way of earning credits to buy cars. Like the little kid who lives opposite - loves his cars, loves his garage, loves GT5, but unlikely to score a gold in A spec in a month of Sundays.

Or my youngest daughter - she loves B spec. According to her all the "Bobs" are girls except one which I'm allowed to have. She enjoys choosing the outfits, the animation for the oil change, painting her cars. She likes seeing that the drivers get tired and stressed.

That option for youngsters to play part of the game even though they can't handle a controller or wheel very well is an attraction of GT5 and provides a link whereby I can share part of my game with my kids.

However - as many others have said it could be improved and I don't want doing so to prevent PD fixing things in A spec which I think are more important such as:

1. An event creator
2. All premium cars
3. Better sound

I agree completely with the suggestions that you should be able to use your "Bobs" in endurance races. In normal endurance racing there are three drivers in a team anyway so using the "Bobs" makes sense.

Whatever PD do, I hope they don't make it too complicated or difficult and also make certain that those that don't like B spec can avoid it if they want to.

Like others I would like to be able to use them for enduro racing, it is much more realistic being a part of a driving team that way.

My vote would be.

'Yes, but only if they copy and paste it from GT5'.

I don't know how long it took, but I think its a waste, I'm lvl 40 A-Spec, I'm lvl 22 B-Spec, it wasn't fun, I don't like the Seasonals about it, and I can't see myself liking it at all, no matter what they improve with it.

Yes, copy and paste, fine, but if you're going to spend more than a few dozen hours and a few people on it, please re-allocate your time to the much more needing AI improvement in A-Spec.

No! :sly:

I'd like to only have A-spec in GT6 as I feel B-spec ruins the experience of the GT series.

Even in endurance races I would like only A-spec, but with save option.

Yeah I agree but the enduro section have an option for either "stints" like to use 1 B-Spec driver to stint for 2 hours or depending on race etc. Other then that no need for it.

B-Spec can stay, but shrink it drastically. No reason in my opinion for beginner, professional, expert, extreme, endurance, etc. 10-15 races tops does it for me, maybe keeps some endurance races.

I would welcome the ability to include a B-Spec driver in MY endurance races. An old school 24 hours of Le Mans with driver changes? Comparing my lap times to Bob's? Different driving styles, maybe even setup changes? Awesome....

Widget grinding for credits is also brilliant. It should stay.

I liked it how they had it in GT4 as you can choose to do either A or B-Spec for the races. It was helpful as I could be doing something else (homework, chores, etc) while Bob drove for me.

Only if the 3x function returns, and the ability to have Bob help you with endurance races.

I say yes. Yeah, it can be annoying, but if you don't like it then don't do it. It's an easy way to make money without really doing anything.

I do not fully understand the purpose of B-Spec the way that it is integrated in GT5. Yes, we decide how we want to progress through the game, which in a way is a beautiful thought, but why would one not want to play rather than watch? In GT4 it didn't steal attention as it never did interfere with the game. However, in GT5 we are almost being encouraged to use it extensively. It should stay the way in was in GT4 and could serve as a helping hand in endurance races.

I think that B-Spec on GT6 could mix GT5+GT4 functions that let you use the drivers to help you on long endurance races, plus having the option to speed x3 again just like it was on GT4.

To make things interesting, PD could add some bits related to team management, pilots salaries, team expenses, etc.

That would make B-spec more interesting IMHO.

What you think about it?

That kind of B-Spec would be great IMO...👍

But overall, after what B-Spec turned into in GT5... I'd prefer not to have B-Spec... ever :grumpy:

Yeah I don't think GT6 should lose B-spec especially if it has B-spec like GT4. For everyone who is saying that B-spec would make the game boring well thats not what its for B-spec is supposed to help you finish long races that you may not have the time to finish. Actually b-spec could get boring if it was like gt5's b-spec where your forced to use b-spec but I really hope its not that that kind of b-spec.

I would like to see B-Spec return, but only if it is improved. If B-Spec mode is copy and pasted from GT5 to GT6, I probably won't bother playing it.

The option to fast forward is a must.

Independent Bob, I don't want to tell him when he has to speed up, overtake, drive cautiously, etc. If the tires are wearing out, Bob knows to drive a little more cautiously and tries to extend their usage instead of continuing to drive like he's being chased by the cops and spinning out on every corner because he thinks his tires are primo.

Multiple Bob races. Maybe I want to run two Bobs, in two cars, in the same race in a team capacity with a constructor's championship-like bonus in terms of credits and/or cars for player team winning a series. Perhaps it could be Player 1 + Bob on a team for a series of races.

More customization in terms of outfits, 'style', nationality and names. Maybe we see Bob's name appear somewhere on the car or in the race results it shows Bob's name along with his country's flag.

At the very least option to pit in A-Spec and put in a Bob to take over when you want/need to take a break from driving (especially in long endurance races). B-Spec doesn't need to be a separate game mode, it could be interchangeable with A-Spec in terms of entering a race and choosing how you want to do that race, A-Spec or B-Spec (with option to change in-race).

I think that B-spec mode should only be used in endurance races, like in real endurance races. I mean, the same driver doesn't drive the 24 hours of Le Mans for the entire race. They switch out between 3 or 4 drivers. But it still should be up to the player to choose to switch out. But as for a separate B-spec mode, that should be removed.

I'd also like to see a combination of GT4 and GT5 b-spec in GT6.

From GT4, I'd like the pace system back, the ability to have a driver change from a-spec to b-spec during endurance races and races where driver changes occur in real life (e.g. Super GT), and possibly the fast forward system.

From GT5, I'd like the multiple drivers, the ability to grow and deteriorate the skills of your drivers, drivers having form, drivers have individual helmets and suits.
They need to make the B-Spec drivers somewhat independent out on the track. We shouldn't be constantly telling them hold pace, slow down, or speed up, or even tell them to overtake. That stuff should come naturally.

Agreed. We should have the ability to relay commands and advice to our Felipe Massas and Jarno Trullis, but the drivers themselves should be smarter, more independent and have a better grasp of their racing situation. They certainly shouldn't inexplicably slow to a crawl when there is no-one around them on track.

There should also be a greater variance in driver characteristics and a greater range in driving styles between b-spec drivers. There should be fast-drivers that make errors and struggle overtaking, there should be smooth drivers that are consistent, good on tires but don't have the best pace, there should be drivers that are quick but only when they can get heat into the tires, etc. All b-spec drivers in GT5 seem almost all the same.

no thanks

So you would rather race for 24 hours because you have nothing better to do??

If not in the whole game then at least in endurance races their should be b-spec , thats the only thing I used b-spec for in gt4 anyways. Why are you so against b-spec if they have gt4's b-spec then it will be a huge benefit.

B-spec needs some serious improving. More independent AI, AI with more personality, etc... I won't get into all my ideas on that stuff, because some of it is perhaps easier said than done.

But I do have an idea for B-spec that I do think is reasonable. It's sort of inspired by the original Forza Motorsport's drivatar feature. But IMHO the AI driver's personality/skill shouldn't be based off your own driving... instead, there should be B-spec license tests similar to the ones for A-spec. But instead of completing the license tests yourself, you play the role of the instructor guiding the AI driver through it, increasing its B-spec driving skill in the process. Maybe it would involve things like drawing the driving line the AI should follow, classroom instruction where you've got multiple choices (each of varying degrees of "correctness" or "incorrectness") on what to say to the driver as the instructor, etc.

So if you draw your racing line for a license test in the shape of a pretzel and fill the driver's head with misinformation, he'll fail the test. But if you teach him properly he'll pass and become a better driver as a result.

I like the idea of being a 'team manager' but the whole concept needs to have quite a bit of work before its truly fun, the current situation of telling a driver to go faster every 20s is a utter waste of time.
