Bahrain Day 1: Ferrari leads the way

Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen showed they are well on the pace on the first day of testing at the Bahrain International Circuit. Nine out of the eleven Formula 1 teams travelled to Bahrain for the three-day test.

The Finn was under two tenths of Massa's time with the Brazilian completing almost double the amount of laps. Honda also put on a strong team showing with Jenson Button in third and Rubens Barrichello in fifth. The Honda team will be happy with that performance having failed to show any real signs of pace in pre-season testing so far. Lewis Hamilton found himself keeping the Honda times apart with the fourth quickest time whilst Pedro de la Rosa was half a second slower in sixth.

Sebastian Vettel continued to impress by being the fastest of the BMW drivers. Unfortunately, his senior driver Nick Heidfeld was unable to finish his programme due to technical problems.

Young Brit Anthony Davidson was surprisingly quicker than both the Renaults in his Super Aguri and ended up tenth fastest.

Good to see Webber still sucks after his comments about Williams.

Adrian Newey design, but i always see them in the back and Massa did more laps then the Red Bull team lol

they were hoping for some hot testing , but the max I've seen in the last couple of days is 22-23 C lol not as hot as its going to be when the Bahrain grand prix comes . I actually could go 2moro to see them testing . Anyone know whos going to test there on the 28th ? as I called the circut and they told me I could come on the 24th or 28th of Feb.

23°C is probably a lot warmer than it is in Spain at the moment. I’m guessing.

Geez, first time I've seen the pics before the wreckage image and that's quite some smash. He's moving up in the world, partaking in his first heavy crash as a 1st team driver.

Tough corner that mind you, if it's the one I'm thinking of, spent a lot of time in that barrier when I've played the games lol.
