I never finished BG3, having left off at going after Baal's murder princess vs the robot overlord guy and his sunken prison. But I was basically a half-orc polearm dude for absolutely bonkers crits and smite procs with area control. Karlach was my thrower with returning pike. Totally broken. I can't remember the specifics of my party comp, but I just remember that Shadowheart would melt people with solar power. Gale with water mymidons was also completely broken.

I've just tried a Succubus/Fiend mod, it's a bit on the powerful side but very cool. :D 18 AC, 20 charisma draconic sorcerer (why the hells not?) at level 1 with a whole bunch of resistances and flight at will. 🤣 Also has claws that scale with dexterity.

It's not balanced obviously, but it provides some interesting role playing creativity. Makes you think about what a cambion's views might be.

Trying an honour run. Still early in act 1 but I did something very very wrong and I’m not sure I can continue, the guilt is too much.

Oh no.

My first honour mode run was ended by Auntie Ethel. I brought an entire party of spellcasters which turned out to be a really terrible idea. Don't use magic in that fight.

Most of my honour mode saves have been fine after that, I've yet to finish one because I keep experimenting with new characters. One of them is fairly close though, it's a level 12 tiefling fiend warlock with blade pact and lifedrinker, great melee damage and spells.

The fight against
Myrkul
can be scary but he's susceptible to Hunger of Hadar.

honour mode
Was much more difficult in their Divinity game line, also because the AI was much more unfair in using instant kill options.

It is not outright easy in BG3 neither, but certian classes or parties certianly move the scales up or down by alot (and of course using the story powers will also decrease the overall difficulty, which requires being a bit charming).

Mods are fun. :D

I’m only using one mod. It just unlocks the option for paladin deities but it finally lets me properly create the character from my only attempt at tabletop, a Paladin of Kelemvor. A very straightforward chap, he buries people and hits the undead with a big hammer.

This is Zarra, a Dark Urge character with a heart of gold, who passes herself off as a Lolth-sworn Drow when the situation demands it. She acted as a triple agent throughout the story, usually leaving people guessing as to what her true motives were. Zarra is a supporter of the idea that the ends justify the means, executed with ruthless pragmatism, (she's still a Drow, after all) leading to some questionable decisions,
such as sacrificing the hollyphant at the Murder Tribunal to gain Sarevok's favour. She was undercover at the goblin camp and Moonrise Towers, so there is consistency.
but ultimately destroys the Absolute and rejects
father Bhaal
in the end.

Still my favourite character and one that I would definitely play as in tabletop. The build is 5 Thief Rogue, 5 Gloomstalker and 2 Fighter, with Great Weapon Master feat. Currently trying a variation on that which replaces Gloomstalker with 6 Shadow Monk so I can finally try all the monk gear. :P

Receiving her iconic weapon, Phalar Aluve, which she used to mow down dozens of goblins. Not to worry, Lolth was totally cool with her using this sword since she created so much chaos with it.

Shadow Step and Stunning Strike are both stupidly powerful. Rogue Shadow Monk is such a fun build!

Shadow Step costs bonus actions to use, but gives advantage afterwards, meaning I don't need the Risky Ring as much. Replaced it with the Eversight Ring, so now I can wade into a Hunger of Hadar/cloud of Darkness, slay an enemy or two in there, then teleport out of it.

Still having great fun with my undead army. I don't think many people play Druid (probably because the Grove ones in act 1 are mostly annoying twits), but Spores is a very good support character if you don't mind not doing the big damage yourself.

It gets really fun from level 6 when you get the Fungel Infestation ability. Enemy dies in a fight and you can use just a reaction to raise them as a zombie. The zombie infects & kills someone and that 2nd enemy becomes another zombie. 4 reactions per long rest, so you can just imagine the horde of rotting flesh you end up commanding. Sometimes I forget that this is actually a "good" run. I may have to go full evil overlord next time and try Necro Wizard or Oathbreaker Paladin.

Apparently the game will be Pro Enhanced on PS5. No details yet, may just be a performance/frame rate boost for act 3.

I have recently tried a Gloomstalker Ranger 5 / Spores Druid 7 build for Jaheira, it's an awesome melee combatant and fits her character really well I think. I have her conjure a flame blade and use the Sylvan Scimitar in the off hand. Both weapons use wisdom, so that's the only stat she really needs. Plus lots of fungal zombies.

I was thinking of doing an evil Durge with Oathbreaker Paladin, but I'm not sure I want the level 7 class feature, and you can't turn it off. It adds necrotic damage to your attacks, yes, but it also gets added to every single fiend and weapon wielding undead that attacks you. 🤣 House of Hope would be fun. :P

Baldur’s Gate 3 is now enhanced for PS5 Pro!

I don't need a Pro yet, I don't need a Pro yet, I don't need a Pro yet...

12 new official subclasses !!!

Wait, wut?

Looking forward to Swashbuckler, Bladesinger, and Shadow Sorcerer. Scratch that, most of them sound awesome.

This week I tried an Oath of Conquest mod for Minthara, it's just a perfect fit. Has good synergy with GOOlock, spread the fear!

I’ll very likely be respeccing my current Druid run from Spores to Stars. The new class fits much more the character I was trying to create, and if they keep it near to the 5e version it’ll be a big upgrade.

Another few hundred hours to come next year when they release all the new classes - game of the decade for me.

To me it would require new story elements or side quests.
If everything but the classes stays the same the game has not won much replayability for me.
Though glad to see they are on it, improves the likelyhood of another game of its kind.

For me it’s more of a DND combat sim and sandbox than a story game (because I’m too antisocial to play the real thing).

We could try a co-op game when crossplay becomes available if you want, depending on what time of day you are on. :P Could be hilarious.

At the moment I'm experimenting with a Mephistopheles Tiefling Draconic Sorcerer (well that's certainly a mouthful) with either 3 or 4 levels of Thief Rogue, haven't decided on the exact split yet. It only requires one mod (cheat :P ) which makes Flame Blade last all day, it lasts 100 turns in tabletop apparently so that seems fair. The Flame Blade goes in the off-hand and I can attack twice with it after casting a fireball or scorching rays. It also doesn't need a dual wielding fighting style since Flame Blade does not benefit from that anyway.

Normally you would have to use quicken spell to cast a spell in the same turn with two weapon attacks, or use the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel. So despite "only" being a level 9 or 8 sorcerer I haven't really noticed the fewer sorcery points since I can be very economical with them. Another benefit of using Thief over another martial class is that I get extra attack at 3 levels instead of 5, giving two additional sorcerer levels. The build also lets me do some cool tricks with sorcerer since I have two bonus actions, I can burn through 6 sorcery points if I want to cast tons of scorching rays, which pretty much guarantees kills.

I'm actually looking at Solasta now, especially with the sequel announced, which shows just how far down the DnD well I've fallen.
With these types of games I'm playing, and also AC Evo on the way, I'm seriously considering joining the master race and abandoning my beloved consoles for a PC.

I converted to PC gaming 9 years ago and have no regrets. GPUs are expensive these days, but if you have the money to spend, the freedom PC gives you over console is worth it in my totally biased opinion. :P

I think I'll go with 8 Sorcerer / 4 Thief to get the medium armour feat, and then re-spec to 9/3 after obtaining the Helldusk armour from Raphael. High AC is good to have against Orin and Sarevok.

The patch with the new subclasses was accidently made available to some PS5 players yesterday, before the stress test for that and crossplay had even begun. Someone on Reddit uploaded all the details. I like the additions they've made to the Swashbuckler, it looks like it could be a really fun playstyle.

Some awesome looking Dragonborn mods out at the moment. :D

The Hound of Ill Omen is adorable. I might make a Shadow Sorcerer Hexblade when it releases.

Had a quick play with the new subclasses last night - my Swashbuckler Dragonborn

Larian's homebrew additions incentivize a onehanded fighting style. I've usually followed the build guides and gone dual-weapon or sword-and-board so this will be a bit of a change. I know there's a legendary weapon in Act 3 that is specifically for a fencer. Probably going to multiclass with fighter at some point, not sure yet if I'll go for the 3 levels for Battle Master maneuvers (or maybe 3 levels of Bard for Swords and the flourishes).
