Over 580 hours . Had the game pretty much after launch and have just been consistently playing it since. Would of taken quite a few hours less if I wasn't such a noob at the start.

Cheers. 👍 Just in time for F1 2012 :sly:

Thats was the same thing for me aswell, I cant believe how bad i was at the start of this game. It was my first ever multiplayer shooter aswell (Solely sports and racing beforehand) So i gave my self some slack and gradually got better as the months went on, And now i have high expectations for my performance. I am Colenel 73 and just broke 40k kills tonight aswell, I remember a few months back when i was 1000 deaths in arears, And im surprised how much iv'e improved. Im sure i could have got there by now if i took advantage of the double xp time, But im not in a rush for it and not really bothered that much though. Will be nice when those gold tags flash up onto my screen mind.

Just got the PC version downloaded yesterday. Anyone else playing on PC and maybe know of some good servers to play on?

Send me a friend request.

I just sent a friend request.

After you add me as a friend, go to my profile. Once you are on my profile, check out the "Servers". On my favorites list, the two [DIG] servers, two DerangedGamers.com servers, and the Lizard Lounge are typically pretty good.

I was just autobalanced into the losing team on a game of Conquest. The team I was put into was about to lose the match. I had been on the winning team for very nearly the entire match. I am not taking a loss for that crap. 👎

Heh, if that angers you, never even touch Team Fortress 2.

PS3 has been freezing lately when i play BF3, is it just me?

Nope a few of my friends were having problems since the last PS3 system update (which a lot of people with slim model PS3s were having all kind of problems)

I have said it a bunch here.
Open the ps browser and clear the cache. It has helped with freezing issues for me in the past.

I know it should not make a difference but it has for me and a couple others in this thread.

I only seem to freeze on Siene Crossing, Wich is a shame as its a favourite of mine. Still it means that i can avoid freezing (for the most part) if i avoid this map. I clear the cache multiple times a day as when im at my PS3 i use the browser often. Iv'e cleared my cache like this since iv'e had my PS3 so i wouldnt know if it helps stop freezes.

I can't think of any good reason why BF3 would care what's in your browser cache. In fact it probably isn't even allowed access to that part of the filesystem.

Eric.

You know you can manually do "restore file system" and it helps keep your system running clean. I do it at least once a week for the past year. Here is how to do it.

1. Remove any usb flash drives and discs from the PS3. Then turn it off.

2. PRESS AND HOLD power button till system turns on then back off.

3. PRESS AND HOLD again till you hear a double beep. (you will hear the first beep when the system turns on then a second beep after that you will hear a quick double beep. After you hear the double beep release your figure)

4. You will be prompted to plug in your controller with a usb cable and press the ps button. Do that then stop.

5. You will see a screen with 6 options on the screen. You are going to select option 3 (restore file system). Click that and follow steps to set up your hdmi and then it will do the rest.

(if you have your audio running through a digital audio out will have to set that back in sound settings after the process is done.)

Is this whats known as putting the system into a "safemode"?

I think i done this with my first console when it packed up.

That's basically restoring the Master Boot Record in case something got screwed up with it. Not really any other reason you'd go messing with it.

Trust me that option helped me more than you think specially for the BF3 freezes that I had and when SONY released firmware 4.20 it was very unstable,so I went there and it fixed corrupt files that I had plus it made the console slighty faster and stable.

I had my first proper run at all four AK CQ maps on a Dice 100% server today.

Bandar is definitely my least favourite, there is just nowhere to hide as infantry and if armour or choppers aren't trying to hunt you, that blasted AC130 is.

Arborz is pretty cool, I got a ton of mine kills there. I also spent a lot of time unsuccessfully scrambling up rock faces, trying to avoid the apparently intended paths one is supposed to follow.

AK itself reminds me a lot of Harvest Day in BC2, kind of mixed with Caspian. Again, the AC130 is a giant pain and seems to take an age for GTA missiles to lock on. A very fun map, probably my favourite.

Death Valley - not bad, lots of chance to flank and some nice burn spots at most flags. Like Oman, there are too many places where recon can parachute into and camp like champs and you just cant reach them on in the incompletely built structures. Other then that, pretty nice.

Then I jumped onto a 1250 ticket seine match and it was a blast. I was riding 60 something and 10, the ticket count was 560-540 (it was a lot higher in favour of us, but then we somehow let the other team get hold of our tank and there went 200 tickets unanswered virtually). I die, change my loadout, come back to see where is best to spawn and boom, mega freeze.

I HOPE the 3 medals and gazillion ribbons I got dont vanish into the ether, but its Dice....disappointingly, I was on a 10 kill nemesis streak against a level 81 Colonel. And 10 is my record at the moment

edit: it registered :) http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/65988762/4/320034146/

I quite like Bandar desert, the 4 "village" flags help to keep the fighting compact whilst the army base has the obvious advantage of the AC-130. My only problem is with C flag (Construction Site), because you can only capture it if you are in the totally open car park area. I mean at least give us some cars, a container or something.

I know I am late to the party but can anyone tell me player counts? Ie are games full regularly still despite the fact the game is almost a year old? PS3 would be the system btw.

if you mean how many people still play it?
if i go online thers usually around the roughly 30-40 thousand people on , if not more.
it's a game that's played alot, just like MW3 is, this game will not die for atleast another 5 years.

I still play (almost)daily and never have issues finding full games. (If I am not playing on my clans server).
Best bet is to find some servers and favorite them.

@mike: the armored kill maps ,more so than any other, really require teamwork. If an enemy gunship is left unattended it can really ruin your day. But with very little effort it can be taken down very easily.
I have quite the opposite view of the maps with bandaar being my favorite of this expansion and alborez on the bottom of my list.
I ran down the maps a few pages back and still pretty much feel the same way as i did then. Getting better at death valley and alborez mountain but still prefer bandaar and armored shield.

Anyone go hunting for the t-rex on alborez. We ran a squad expedition the other night and found it.
