I hadn't noticed the extent to which they'd shortened the levelling process until now. @Brett (I hope you don't mind me snooping around your Battlelog profile!) reached 100 after 170 hours with an average score per minute of 829 (holy sh... err, I mean holy science, I'm only on 552), in BF3 I played for 286 hours with an average SPM of 497 and yet I only ever reached rank 75. I had 8,547,823 points in BF3 compared to Brett's 8,439,100 in BF4.
By comparison with myself, I'm on level 48 after 73 hours in BF4, that's almost two thirds as far as I got in BF3 in about a quarter of the time. The cap in BF3 was 145 levels, though, in BF4 (with China Rising) it's 110. I guess this is change is intended to get more people to the top level before BF5 comes out, presumably to reduce the number of people who say 'well I've still got loads to do in BF4 so I won't get BF5 yet'... That's how a cynic might see it, anyway.

I believe it might have been a server update ready for Second Assault, As from today the Second Assault maps can be seen in the server browser and the 5 new weapons are listed in soldier customization .

def much easier in bf4 over bf3. I think Bf4 will max out at level 150 when all is said and done. 100 for base game and 10 for each map pack.
I think i have already passed my rank in bf3 with around 1/10th the gameplay time. Id probably be a 110 if i didnt take a month or so off to play thru bordelands 2 on ps3 and then the issues i was having on ps4.
Cqant wait to check out the second assault maps. Especially gul off oman

yeah I know in BF3 after 307 hours with a SPM of 570 I'm colonel 38!
As to max rank on BF4 it started at colonel 100 then I believe with every DLC it will rise by 10. So technically the max rank will eventually be colonel 150.

Hmm so with Second Assault seemingly on the horizon my decision is to whether to purchase premium or not.
Second Assault is a definite purchase but I purchased BF3 premium and I always seemed to levitate back to the original maps anyway. Bonus camo's, dogtags and whatnot don't interest me in the slightest so I need to weigh up on if the extra cash will be worth it in the hope I enjoy all the other new maps.
After my initial impressions being not so great I'm really starting to enjoy BF4 now and can see myself putting a fair few hours into it like BF3.

I always think I'm in cover, and I normally am, but every once and awhile, I literally am picked off in a second... Do bushes not give cover on PS3? Same as the darkness of caves at Guilin Peaks?

Protection as in protection from damage? Or protecting from seeing? They don't protect your from damage.

Depending on the bush size, it can be great cover. Such as the ones on Metro in BF3. I'm not sure about the dark though.

My ps3 is freezing more than ever after the latest patch. Making me feel like I shouldn't have traded in bf3

Whilst I did manage to complete a couple of games yesterday, I failed to receive my daily battlepack. What gives? Can anyone enlighten me 👍

I got on yesterday, and what happened to all of XP boosts? I must've had a good 8/9 25% boosts stashed and when I went to activate one, they were all gone. Then I got some more in battle packs and I couldn't use them. Do they not work during double XP?
I had got a couple missions into the campaign a while back before the game decided it didn't want me to have my save anymore and erased my progress. Started it back up last night and finished it up this morning. It is essentially a long tutorial to help ease you into the multiplayer but still pretty enjoyable. I played through on Hard difficulty and even replayed the final mission a couple times for the alternate endings. Of course the game doesn't want to give me the trophy for completing the campaign. Haven't had any more freezing up while playing online though so I'll take a buggy trophy over that.

In other news: BF4 on PS3 has hit the lowest for me at this point. Tried to play last night, after going perfectly smooth the day before. Loaded into the match, hit X to spawn after checking my loadout and it goes to a black screen and freezes.

I have no sound during multiplayer games for me now, this is beginning to look like a typical EA product now.
