Oh boy. Going to be a huge battle (no pun intended) between this and GTA V.

Sorry to say it but GTA has my money this time. And I'm not done with BF3 yet anyways.

What really worries me is 720p/60 on PS4 and Xbox720 ... I am hoping for full 1080/60 + 3D on PS4 at the very least :(

I was disappointed when hearing this at first.

For DICE PC is the #1 platform. The next gen consoles are new. They'll need time to optimize for them. The easy/lazy way out is just to lock the resolution at 720p for 60fps. Reminds me of how EA had its Madden and NCAA football games run at 30fps on the PS3 for the first few iterations before finally upgrading them to 60fps.

I'll bite the 720p bullet as long as the graphics at least rival the high settings from BF3 PC.

It was pretty much impossible to get BF3 to run at 60fps on ultra settings with a PC unless you had a crazy expensive system. So 720p locked at 60fps is a bit disappointing, but its really not as bad as it sounds. Battlefield 4 is a massive online game though, it isnt your traditional linear game with minimal people and objects on screen.

The good thing for EA/DICE is that they could release BF4 at 540p 30fps game for consoles, a rig melter for PC's all with laggy controls while being a glitchfest & it'll still rake in the cash. EA/DICE are in a win/win situation with BF4 & they know it.

A few of my friends who play BF on PC don't even have 1080p monitors. My friend I stay with doesn't even have a 1080p TV. 720p will be the standard for a long time for HD. Its not big deal if you sit down, open you mind and think about the fact that BF3 out sold the PC version 7-1 or something like that. And it will happen again. 720p is not a big deal. Many 360/ps3 games didn't run in 720p.....

I love BF3 but its just too soon for BF4 IMO. It should have just been pushed to the next consoles. With that said, GT5 has my money too, if its everything I am hoping for.

You can now pre-buy Battlefield 4 on origin, 2 version available, one normal and a premium one. Premium one guarantee you a place in the beta.

Not sure if it was mentionned already, I didnt saw anything about it.

I'm almost certain Rockstar knows they better provide. GTA V is looking more promising every day.

Isn't BF4 supposed to launch on September 22? I heard it was 3 days after GTA V.

Yeah I just read again that BF4 was announced to be released 5 days after GTA V. GTA V was set on September 17th while BF4 was on the 22nd. At the same time, Saints Row 4 is also supposed to be out in September and Watch Dogs out in October....release conflicts much?

Deep Silver said Saints Row 4 would be releasing August though. When did you hear about it being September?

Absolutely! We'll probably get another trailer? Maybe Multiplayer?
Would be bloody awesome, that's for sure!

One of my favorite YT gamers breaking down some interesting details from the trailer.

EDIT: Already posted. lol

^ COD and BF have never even been comparable IMO. I always thought BF destroys COD by a longshot. Especially the mp. Just my opinion. In fact I converted a few more COD fans into BF fans this year. Typical response is usually "wow this is WAY better than COD".

Yeah, he doesn't really compare CoD with Battlefield, but more he says why it's a smart move from Dice and EA to get a lot more CoD (with a lot more subs) to these launch events rather than the Battlefield community.

The battlefield community was always something "special" and "small", that has changed imo with BF3, and especially the Close Quarters DLC. They try to fish a lot of the CoD players away to Battlefield.

And now, with games like MW3 and BO2, who (mildly said) sucked, it's easier than ever. It's a good and bad thing at the same time

Did you play the campaign in BF3? It's a carbon copy of CoD.

Had the funniest moment ever.

A guy (a young electrician) came over to our house to fix some electrical mishaps in the kitchen. As I was playing BF3, I heard: "what are you doing?"

"Um, flying a jet."

"Woah you can do that?"

"Yeah, here, watch me blow up this house"
(House collapses, multikill.)

"Woah!!!! I cant do that in COD!"

"Yeah... here, let me get into this chopper"

(He finished working, and now I have hin on my friends list, recently renoved due to inactivity for a month.) So, yeah, Im satisfied, knowing I converted him to BF3 :)
