I was always under the impression that it'd be current gen + PS4.
They just haven't released the box art for it 'cause no one knows what the PS4 cover insert template looks like.

Ok you're right. I saw black at the top due to the light even though the Libyan flag has black in the middle.

I am tired ok.

I knew the map was Azerbaijan I just thought that maybe that was a hint of a different map.

More specifically, it's the city of Baku.

BF3's SP campaign was almost laughable. The COD games offer better SP experiences.

I don't see how BF4 could be any different.

MP isn't everything. Devs just might learn that soon enough, the hard way.

On top of that list: EA.

Ok, now, what is the point of BF4, if it is going to be on the PS3?? Everyone was hyped about a PS4 title, and now EA confirmed a PS3 release???
Yes that situation is a bit confusing to be honest. I was also expecting this for the next gen consoles. So I will probably wait and see what happens at the end of the year to see if its actually on the next consoles. I just cant justify buying BF4 when I already have BF3 right now. So more than likely I will just wait. As much as I love BF3, this wont be a day 1 purchase for me. BF3 had massive issues at launch and those didnt get worked out for quite a while. I really think they should have just saved their resources for BF4 until the next consoles. Really makes no sense pushing it out at the end of the year on the PS3 and 360 IMO. Just take your time and put it on the next consoles.

I am still waiting for the Microsoft annoucement of the next xbox before deciding on anything. THAT is going to make or break the next xbox for me. At that point I will decide if I go to PS4 or next xbox.

PC! :sly:

I'll wait some time before I pre-order.

I have BF3 premium, (and MOH:WF, but that we don't talk about) so i'll get my hands on the Beta anyway.

Warfighter only needs a few tweaks and it could be a very good game.

Same. I would like to get it on the ps4.

Actually just noticed something. Won't this be the first Battlefield where you can have 2 different sights on your gun?

Pretty sure it is. It is pulled in from Medal of Honor Warfighter and one of my two favorite features, the other being slide to cover, of that game. Hopefully, DICE will include the ACOG/Red Dot combination, instead of just the sight/iron sight setup.

I believe dual sights was in the previous Medal of Honor (2010) as well, but it may not have been available in MP. I was always kinda surprised that BF3 didn't have that option.

I do not remember any dual sights in Medal of Honor 2010. I also did not venture into the multiplayer on that game.

Same here. Did the story and that was it.

I will most likely get this on the PC. I’m new to PC gaming so how would I pre-order BF4 on the PC.

smuffy
Wait until the pre-order option pops up on Steam. I suppose, however, that Gamestop will also offer preorders for the PC version if you don't like digital copies.

EA doesn't put their games on Steam if I recall correctly. That's the whole reason they developed the Origin store. You can see the preorders already on battlelog and on the Origin website.

Battlefield should be Origin only. Pre-order through there or Amazon. Amazon makes it easy to activate PC games bought through them on Origin. You essentially buy the serial key, which you punch into Origin to download and play the game.

I tried to erase that damn Origin from my mind, sorry :ouch:
Oh snap, there's no way in hell my current 7970 gonna handle this.
Why wouldn't it?Given what Crysis 3 can look like on my OC'd 680, your 7970 should hold up fine.

:P

It'll probably run BF4, but maybe not at those settings i'd like.
So I might need an upgrade, which I am getting anyway. :dopey:

Am I the only one thinking the game looked utterly stupid? The 17min video starts off with the protagonist checking his weapon for ammo. Aparently, he's out. yet a few minutes later, he magically recieves ammo and reloads his gun. And then later on, we find out that this guy also carries a Milkor MGL (with plenty of ammo for it) and a shotgun intended for door breaching.

This is just silly. No soldier would carry this much crap into a battlefield.

Just like most other shooters, the AI is nearly nonexistent, with enemy combatants being unable to hear someone firing a shotgun behind them, and failing to realise that the GPMG mounted on their soft skin had been taken out of action. And the friendly AI is aparently incapable of taking any kind of initiative (outside of the ridicules number of scripted events of course), leaving you to tell them what to do in any firefight.

Other little idiotic things seen in the demo. If they are in such a hurry to get out of there, then why the hell doesn't the helicopter just pick them up on the ground, instead of flying right over them... Ohh I know, because the game needs to force down some more explosions and scripted events. I'm all for explosions, but they need to happen for a reason.

The heli is of course unable to engage targets on its own, and the enemy soldiers show little interest in taking it out.

The Mi-28 Havoc should have annihalated our protagonists on several occasions... Just like BF3, the SP is just another CoD game. Every bit as daft, unimaginative and without any kind of substance. And I assume the MP will be just as atrocious as BF3, with zero teamwork, maps that are too big for 64 players, and the most idiotic perk system in the history of games. And of course the ever wonderful Origin and requirement to open a friggin internet browser just to find a server.

And the joys of pre launch DLC...

A second 7970? :dopey:

No offense, but what did you expect? EA trying to do something new with one of their flagship franchises? Battlefield is going to stay the brotastic arcade shooter it is until Call of Duty changes its ways and stops being just that. EA might follow suit, then. Not a minute earlier.

This is exactly my plan if need be, second graphics card or PS4 is the question. I have some room to OC my currently MSI 7970 BE and Crysis 3 runs perfectly smooth so I hope BF4 won't be too much of a stretch as it is definitely an evolution rather then a revolution on BF3.

Go with PC.

I don't expect EA to change until gamers start thinking just a tad bit before spending money on games. I'd simply love for gamers to demand just a tiny bit of quality from the game develoeprs/puplishers. If the current trends continue, then try to imagine what gaming will look like 5 years from now.
