If you voted 'no' you better have a good reason.
You seriously want to close this? I've made so many friends on here and then we have fun on the Times when the lobbies actually work. Gt6 isn't in its best state but it's bearable. But if you want to close it then it can't surely be my choice. Our members probably said yes.

This is the first time I've seriously considered closing the club. Just look, no one wants a lobby. It's not the club, I think it's just that no one has the urge to even play GT6. Back in October I thought we would see a spike in activity honestly, but that didn't really occur.

EDIT: Happy page 300! lol

It seems like there is less activity post course maker than pre course maker.

The problem lies mostly with Gran Turismo itself. I mean look: we've had problems with seeing other players in lobbies which led to rejoining the room 901 billion times. We spent more time saying "How many ot" and rejoining than actually driving. I still haven't actually seen Kaz working on GT6. Suddenly there's GT Sport, and it seems like GT6 has just been wiped from Kaz's mind. The same thing happened with GT5, too.

I've been playing GT4 since I got rid of GT6, and there is some feeling of "completeness" and "jazz" about GT4 that I just haven't gotten in the last two releases of GT. GT4 actually felt like a complete and stable game. I loved the simplicity and joy of everything – from the menus and music to driving. Sure, GT4 would have stone-age technology compared to GT5 and 6, but it sure is an awesome game! Honestly I think that either Kaz has lost interest in the life of GT, or he's trying too hard to get that completeness and jazz back. That's my view on just why this club seems dead – because GT seems dead.

If Kaz just went back to basics (starting with GT4) in the next GT and brings back the joy of GT4, I would be a happy human. :)

GT6 course maker...the infamous feature to GT players around the world. This club was supposed to revolve quite a bit around the course maker and I'm sure some others too. (@Kurei @ENDURANCEGUY @superstreet556 @MiuraSV777 probably know what I'm talking about.) Think complete freedom to the racers, cruisers, cops. Big ideas, yeah? It's just that we couldn't execute them due to how lackluster PD was/is. And a thing to keep in mind is that this whole plan was made in November of 2013 - 2 years ago. Sad.

I do have a 22 mile course that I wanted to take out on Friday, but not enough likes.

Now I really have my doubts on the next GT. Kaz has promised and promised us many things (monthly DLC, remember that?), and he either has never executed those promises, or it took forever. That is a terrible way to run a business – especially if everyone around the world knows about it.

If he continues to run GT like this, I definitely won't be convinced GT7 is any better. 👎

Personally, I think GT5 was a good game, not great though. GT6 on the other hand has been a huge disappointment. Its been filled with unfulfilled promises, or to put it frankly, lies from the creators. Course Maker took 2 years, and I didn't even like it very much after it was released and I used it. I just hope that GT Sport brings the "completeness" and "jazz"(to put it in @Cobra2245 's words) back to the series. As Cobra said, the monthly DLCs never came. That was something that I was greatly looking forward to when I bought GT6. Honestly, if GT Sport isn't very different from what we're seeing in GT6, this may have been the last GT game I bought. The trailer did look pretty good for GT Sport, but so did the trailer for GT6.

Edit: Oh and one more thing, 5+6 have been way too easy. I don't want to do one race and be able to buy a supercar and then fully tune it as well (Seasonals). There is no challenge to the game anymore.

To what Town said above,
I have literally bought every single car in GT6 now and they are all the same. Some are really good(LFA), while some cars are just plain crap(Maserati GT) because they're either modeled wrong or they sound completely wrong (Looking at you F430)

I haven't voted about the crew's future yet and quite frankly, I'm not sure what to say.

I've also written some thoughts about this predicament in essay form. So while I've put it away in a spoiler, please take some time to read it.

Firstly, I should say that being in the club for nearly a year, I've had a lot of fun in the lobbies (and 'lobes' :D) that have been hosted by everybody in the club. I do feel like I've made some decent friends (or at least some familiar faces around GTP) while I've been here. I remember checking the forums, looking forward to joining or hosting these lobbies. I still do to an extent. I remember some great moments like the one year anniversary, the Jules Bianchi memorial cruise and even smaller stuff, like some of the cruises I hosted (the ones at Ascari come to mind), that one time I was a cop with Ameer, the various bits of baiting @scoutbonk18, to name a few. I even enjoyed the ridiculous saga with @KudosM4/CruisinAnBruisin/whoever the flying 🤬 that random kid thought he was (I'll come back to that). In short, I've had an absolute blast here and I'm thankful for it all.

However, I feel like it's not a controversial statement to say that enthusiasm for the club has been low. Some of the biggest names in the club have left. Lobbies have dried up on such a big scale, we're struggling to get one a week. The course creator was OK, but it was not the club's saviour like some people were building it up to be. All the people that wanted to host have now left and no-one else wants to (I also know some people can't, due to McDonald's internet, living on the opposite side of the world, etc.). I also realise that in part, I am the problem. I haven't joined a lobby in months or even booted up my PS3. That is simply because I stopped caring about video games in general. I have become so casual, all I do is play FIFA every other weekend and I'm on Football Manager every other hour of every day (when I'm not studying, of course :sly:). The spark isn't there any more and feel like that's natural. For some people, that just comes with getting older. People want get bored and want something new.

I also think that the whole Kudos saga was pretty damaging to my enthusiasm. The only guy I talked to more outside of the crew was him and as you probably know, it's not great when you find out a friend has lied to you about every stupid little minute detail about themselves. He was part of why I stayed in the club.

The way I see it is that if the club wants to succeed, we need a group of people to be excited about the club constantly and strive to make the club better. That isn't there any more. Everyone's just grown sick of GT6 and who can blame them? The game's been out for two years and was never that great of a game in the first place. I know that there are a large group of players who hate the game, the franchise overall and Polyphony Digital (and by extension, Kaz) and after all the broken promises and lacklustre features, it's fairly easy to see. The only reason I stayed on GTP was because of the crew (and the Rumble Strip, of course).

So, the big question. What do we do now? I've thought about this for a while now and while it's obviously going to be very hard to close the crew (at least, I hope it will!), I think now would be a good time. However, don't shut it down instantaneously. I feel that a closing date should be set and that would allow us to set out a couple of final hurrahs for the crew. Even if that's not possible, all I want is a date to be set out for a final lobby. There, we can celebrate the good stuff about the club that made it great. I haven't elaborated on this idea yet but I feel it should be up for discussion. I also realise that this could be hard, as some people have even got rid of GT6 altogether.

So, yeah. It may be time to say goodbye to the club and GT6 in general, but let's give it one last go. For old times sake.

Thanks for reading this ludicrously long essay.

Also, I find it fairly amusing that I wrote this instead of working on a philosophy essay. My priorities have always been a little off...

I read this while my housemate had some sad love music playing in the background and I agree with pretty much everything you said. We don't have anymore cars coming(And a VGT only lobby would be a mess) and in terms of track selections, we have done just about everything. I think that Sarthe and Matterhorn are the safe tracks(tracks where it is pretty much guaranteed to not die... e.x GT5 Sarthe lobbies could go for 8 hours straight), but this Club definitely does need a lot more enthusiasm. How can we have 27 members, yet I can barely get 3 likes? That is barely 10% of the club being active. Also, 27 members... Remember when we literally had to clean out the club a few months ago because people were constantly joining? Now we just have people leaving left and right. We can either make the most of GT6 or literally just wait until GT Sport comes out(It will most likely have a free run/practice option because well.... I don't see why it wouldn't). We have about 4-5 more months until Spring arrives so this club can definitely keep itself afloat, but it will be a challenge if no one even bothers viewing the club. We are at the end of the Yerkes Dodson Law, where we are high on arousal, but low on performance(So much hype for rooms, but half the people act like they've forgotten their GTP password)

I really need some justification from those who voted 'no'.

16/27 members voted? That's just a little over half, which yeah..... What the heck happened to the other half of the club?

Yeah I have no clue... maybe no alerts or something? I doubt it though. I'm surprised we even got half the club to vote considering we barely get any likes on lobby posts.
