Bentley is already working on a redesigned version of its controversial EXP 9 F.

According to the source, the redesigned EXP 9 F will have 'more traditional SUV proportions and less retro surfacing'. The large round headlights and foglights will remain, but the headlights will be slightly smaller and set farther inward.

production version is likely to go on sale in 2015
.
A production version is likely to cost around £150,000.

I didn't think they would ever make this but at least it the production version will look different.

I care as much about a Bentley SUV as much as I care about the next Ford Econoline.

Obviously you haven't seen its ass which juts out 4 feet past the wheels and looks ridiculous.

I was at the show ;)

It's clearly a road-biased SUV but despite some questionable detailing the proportions are pretty good - and not nearly as exaggerated as you're implying. Side-on the silhouette isn't dissimilar to a slightly longer and lower Range Rover.

I'm serious - lose the fussier details - bling lights front and rear, spoiler, ridiculous exhausts, and give it some sensible wheels and you'd have quite a regal vehicle, and even quite tasteful for something that imposing.

It's unfortunate that whoever is in charge of Bentley doesn't understand the subtlety that Rolls Royce has been getting right since BMW took over. Modern Rollers are massive vehicles but impeccably detailed. Rollers are restrained, Bentleys are brash.

I really feel Bentley need to fire its current external designers because the front's they are putting on their very expensive cars look horrid! It all started with the Mulsanne which in my opinion is one of the ugliest luxury cars ever made, its looks like a nasty copy of itself and I don't know how anyone could look past those headlights and think its OK to still spend that much money.

They then slightly ruined the GT by trying to put Mulsanne lights on that as well. You know Bentley its OK to not have totally round headlights in 2012! screw heritage, these lights from the 1920's don't look right on modern saloon bodies.

Having said this the Bentley SUV although far from pretty looks better than the Mulsanne. How anyone would pick cars that look like this over a Rolls Royce is beyond me. This reminds me of the questionable design period BMW went through which was quickly corrected.

Robin.

This is awful. Another company trying to maximise profits by filling every niche there is at the expense of watering down the brand and it's history.

This is a Bentley...

That, is an shameless abomination. I think my favourite current car-maker is quickly becoming Morgan.

Bentley can't keep making the same stuff over and over though. I'm sure this car got people talking about the brand more.

Besides, they're a corporation, and because of that I'm actually surprised they are late to the SUV game.

Likewise. Love everything about that brand at the moment. And they simply aren't a big enough company to "sell out", as it were.

I know, you'd almost thing there was a global recession or something...

Bentswagenley have held out as long as they can without niche marketing. It was always going to happen, lest they go the way of Maybach.

Well in fairness, to strictly go the way of Maybach they'd first have to take a Passat and stick an ice bucket between the two back seats. Then wait for Simon Cowell to buy one.

Or me, actually, that sounds rather nice.

I like it. Looks quirky and different. Plus, you know the interior will be top-notch and it will have one hell of a nice drivetrain.

Get rid of the massive fog lights in the bumper in favor of some smaller ones and it wouldn't look all that bad.

Well, it's been rumored for a long time, and here it is...

I have to say,... I think this is one of the worst looking cars, ever. I'd rather have it's forefather the Bentley 'Dominator' -- and that was just a thinly warmed over Range Rover (IIRC).

It is disgusting, but who owns Bentley again?

*confirms suspicion that it is BMW*

:embarrassed:!!! It's Volkswagen!! So this could be nothing more than a stupid(er) looking Q3/Q5/Tourag/ect What is the point Bentley, really? Those customers were probably former Q3/Q5 customers anyway, and Audi's like those are boring *cough* luxury enough. They are insane in this front, but that is the one thing I don't like about Volkswagen, way WAY too many models of cars.

Yes, this should dilute the prestige of the Bentley brand quite well.

VAG probably had a few Touaregs lying around in car lots and needed to shift them.

I say "no thanks." Continental GT for me, please. I'd rather the Range Rover Evoque than this thing.

Pffft... If I want a large luxury off-roader, and I'm stinking rich... it would be the AMG 6×6 all the way.

edit: So this appears to be a Q7 with an existing W12 VW engine. For the price of a Rolls Royce. VW Cross-brand Platform sharing at it's finest.

 👍

If you're rich enough for one of these you buy a FFRR.

I was OK with this until '#NewBentley'.

No.

Stop it, Bentley.

Bad dog.

Now that's more like. I was bout to say that the front end is ugly and doesn't look like the traditional Bentleys. This looks a lot better, looking forward to seeing it.
