The Bentley SUV will be called the Bentayga.

They can't be serious, that's like something you see stuck on a fake or video game car. Bentayga XD! At least they didn't do a Ferrari, Bentley - LaBentley!

The concept looked way better and more unique, this just looks like it's going to be a jacked up Continental GT. Bentley's style has been all over the place recently, the Mulsanne was hideous looking.

Who came up with that name? It's stupid. Though the same could be said about a lot of other car names. They couldn't come up with a cooler sounding name?

Here it is...granted in 1:18 form.

I'm curious to see if VW makes the Bentley as capable as some of the old variants of the Touareg and Cayenne, or, if this one will pretty much be road-only. Say what you will about the luxury presence of the Range Rover, that thing is still more capable than many "tough trucks" that are 1/3 the price. Along the same line, I'd be interested to hear how VW plans to separate the Touareg, Q7, Cayenne and Bentyaga in price and performance. Does the Touareg name get slapped on that new seven-seat crossover that VW is planning? Does the Q7 become the "affordable" luxury crossover that the Touareg once was? Do they let the Cayenne go full-on high performance SUV, and just let the Bentyaga be what the Cayenne originally was?

You don't think the 4.0T would get shoved in there from the Continental V8? That'd seem like the most-logical choice here, IMO.

It'd be ballin' out of control if they brought back some crazy TDI for this. Or put a mild upgrade on that V12 TDI from the Q7.

I think it'll get the standard range of Continental engines so I'd expect the 4.0TT to be in there as well as the W12. Diesel? Maybe the new V8 diesel with electrically assisted turbos from the upcoming SQ7.

I like the tailgate that looks like old sedans' trunks.

Overall it looks much less bad than I thought it would but Ranges still look better.

Thats Apart of the RR DNA, Afterall, its a model of a SUV company that known for off road capabilities.

I'm going to guess road-only. I can't see VAG exploring the capabilities of the vehicle when Bentley's owner-base swings in the other direction. I'd be surprised if it even had some grunt, performance-wise.

As for the Cayenne, remember the Urus isn't far out, so the Cayenne Turbo S will likely have to remain somewhat in its current position.

its a Nice 4 Seat SUV..........4 Freaking Seats.

Interior looks great and the exterior might look alright in a decent colour.

Massive disappointment compared to the concept. Looks like they welded a Continental GT front and Flying Spur rear to a GLK :yuck:

This was brilliant...

I think I will go and buy a Nissan Nisna instead.

I think it looks great, However I think it's a mistake to have it based on the Porsche Cayenne(Which from the side it looks basically identical) it should be based on it's own model.

Can you believe that VW wanted the Whole thing made in Slovakia untill the head of Bentley convinced them it would be a massive mistake(could it even be called a Bentley at that point).

Even still the Shell is made there alongside the Q7 and Cayenne.

Does the G65 AMG count as an SUV? Its slightly more powerful. Still a fan of the W12 though.

@mustafur Can it be called Bentley when 80% of the engineering involved is done by Audi/VW? You know Bentley amazing Continental f.e. is just a rehash of the decade old Audi A8 D3?
Toureg/Q7/Cayenne are all manufactured at Slovakia. I'd rather buy a car manufactured from them, VW Bratislava plant is top notch 👍

Clearly you haven't seen how they make cars at Crewe, that is no ordinary VW plant.

If your going to spend Bentley kind of money on a car you don't want it made like a mass produced Volkswagen.

Yes they use similar parts in the engine as other VAG cars, but they are worlds away in terms of how they are made, even having the Shell made in Slovakia would be a massive cut compared to how they make shells in Crewe.

No 6 3/4 Litre V8? How utterly disappointing.

Still, its the kind of excessive SUV that we should have expected. I have a feeling it'll be much more impressive in person, like many of the Bentley products, and will be snatched up quickly in top-trim levels... To eventually have a value proposition inserted later. But man, I'm honestly surprised they didn't go with the tried and true V8. More torque would have been great in the SUV, even if it wouldn't have headlining horsepower.

The 6 3/4 litre tends to be reserved for the Flagship car.

900nm is still crazy high torque for a Petrol/Gas powered engine though, but the W engines just smell of VW.

I guess in my mind, with the way the market has gone with luxury vehicles, perhaps the Bentayga should be the flagship. Or, at the very least, a paired flagship with the Mulsanne.

It looks... so much better than the concept. And it's still fugly at the front. Rear end looks fantastic, I think. Even with the dodgy name, I can see this being in the garage of every country estate in England.

With the shell not made in Crewe chances are its the entry level car.

I've got to be honest, I preferred the front of the concept. The only major issue I had with the EXP 9 were those round vent/light things below the headlights - get rid of them and it would have simply looked big, brash and imposing - everything a Bentley should be.

I know some of the tweaks to the Bentayga were to help it achieve its top speed, but by comparison the smaller grill set at a more laid back angle looks weaker to me, like a cheap imitation of a real Bentley. Let's face it, the majority who complained about the EXP 9's face will never be able to afford one, while those who could would have lapped it up regardless. Bentley might as well have stuck to their guns.
