Corvette C7 '14 Tune

Very good option for those on a budget. Even with the cost restriction it is one of my fastest tunes for the race. Can turn out 2:09 laps towards the end and hold 2:10 in the beginning while the track is still damp. Be mindful of tire life and be respectful with the throttle.

Tried with the One-77, but came third; one stop for fuel, sports hards, fuel map 1, downgraded ecu to get in. Anyone tried it that might have some tips?
I just tried with the One-77. I went to buy one from the dealer and tried, I needed Aero.
I got front splitter and rear wing and used the power limiter instead of the ECU.
Finished 1st on Hard difficulty, ran a 27:36 total time. Mostly 2:13 to 2:15 laps with a couple of high 2:12s thrown in.
Kokubun finished 2nd, 30 seconds behind.
I ran fuel map 1 the whole time, pitted at the end of lap 7 for fresh tires and topped up to 5.1 laps of fuel.

Aston One-77 was stock with Sport Hard tires. I did the following:

Aero: Front and Rear Medium Wing. Downforce set to 129 front, 250 rear.
Custom LSD, 6/5/20
Power Restrictor, 78%

PP came to 599.96

Besides the tune, I would say tips are manage the massive understeer on the first lap by being cautious and going slower, and after the 1st lap, try to hold good speed through the turns, like staying far outside before entry. It has a good amount of understeer and is well behaved, so I was able to lift throttle and tap brakes often to prevent/mitigate understeer.
After the wet laps 1 and 2, I was braking just before the 200 sign on the straightaway, and just before the 150 sign at the hairpin.

Finally won this event using a bone stock GT-R '17. Had to drop power to 98% using SM tires. I'm on a DS4 using auto shift with TC 1, ASM on & counter-steer assist on strong, fuel mix at 1 & difficulty at normal. Stop for tires (SM) & full load of fuel at end of lap 6. In more capable hands this should be a cake-walk but I'm going on 75 & still enjoying GT (started with GT1).

28:04 is a very respectable time. I started with GT1 too! I'm still on controller, still using X for throttle and [] for brake. It just feels right to me, old habits!

Sure thing.

Ferrari 330 P4, PP600:

Buy: Power restrictor and Ballast + Sports Hard tires

Tires: Sports Hard
Body Height: 140, 140
Ballast: 189 kg
Ballast position: 9 (to keep original weight distribution)
Power Restrictor: 78

This setup should get it down to PP599.65, with 350hp and 981kg of weight.

Edit: forgot to add that during the race fuel was mainly on 1, sometimes going up to 2 on the straight, in the tunnel, to save a bit of fuel to make it till the end. Draft as much as possible, and avoid wall collisions for obvious reasons, one penalty is a lost race.
Thanks

Won with a MR2 GT-S '97 !!!
Lap times in the 2:15 range. Very nimble and light, great turn in, can brake very late which helps save a lot of time.
Fuel map 1. Pit at end of lap 7, fresh tires, only needs a small amount of fuel to get back to 5 laps worth. Could be a no pitter with right fuel map, maybe sport hard tires.

Sport Medium tires

Custom Suspension: 97/97, 4/4, 36/35, 46/45, 2.25/2.40, camber 1.2, 1.5, toe 0.0, 0.30

Custom LSD, 5/5/20

Aero: Type A for Front, Side, Rear, and Wing. Downforce settings: 34 F, 144 R

Full ECU Computer

Racing Transmission, 320 top speed

Medium Turbo, Anti-Lag Strong, Racing Intercooler

Racing intake/muffler/manifold

Racing brakes/pads

Racing clutch

Engine: Bore, Stroke, Polish, Racing Crank

Weight Reduction 1

16" Wheels, Wide, Wide

Thanks. I switched to L2 for brake, R2 for throttle & left stick for steering back in GT5 or 6 (can't remember exactly) because right thumb is messed up. Now it's second nature.

The reason you need L2 and R2 is the ability to control your pedal pressure. X and [] pressure is not as effective.

I think I've found my new favourite for this in the Lancia Delta. Having used this car a few times whilst grinding credits, I've managed to optimise it to well below the 27 minute mark on my last attempt.

If anyone picked a Delta up from the used car shop when it was in rotation and wants to try it out with my tuning setup:

1650719183424.png

(also widebody with wide tyres)

No changes to the gear ratios, just what it does automatically when setting to 290km/h.

It's capable of a no-stop (which I've found is far faster than pitting) but there's some fuel management needed to do it. If you can't be bothered and want to take the pit stop, it will cost around 15 seconds overall.

For the fuel management; map 1 down the main straight until coming out of the tunnel. When you're about halfway along the section between the tunnel and off-ramp, switch to map 4 and then stay in it whilst short shifting and coasting into/around bends until you reach the hairpin. As you're rounding the hairpin, switch back to fuel map 1 for the main straight where you can potentially rev it out a little whilst getting up to speed. In spite of the fuel saving, I was churning out 2:11s in free air.

Just tried this for the first time.

Only managed second, 3 seconds off Kokubun in my R34 with standard Priano tune.

What a great race. So enjoyable, a real challenge and just under 1/2million cr for 2nd.

Looking forward to working out how to find some time. I need to be in the 2:13’s rather than 2:14’s and probably need to shave a frw seconds off the pit.

The R34 has definitely got a win in it and
I am looking forward to exploring other cars too.

This is what GT is all about.

What an awesome race.
Finally got my win. I really had to think about it… what strategy to use… what car choice and set up, in-race fuel and pit tactics, loved it.

After many attempts I decided to stop chasing 2:14’s and lower. I am simply not good enough to string 12 laps together pushing that hard (for me) and I would always get a penalty.

To give you an idea I am good enough to silver most licences on my first attempt, but gold is often beyond me. So this may work for other average drivers.

In the end it was my R34 that I love that I got tuned to the right level. I used the Priano tune which is amazing and made a couple of tweaks.

I massively increased the ballast and used the pp for more power. I could get 181mph from this and loads of torque.
I replaced the rear wing and minimised all downforce.

To make up for that I went with Sport Medium which last long enough and grip so well in the wet.

I flashed past Gallo as he was exiting the pits and managed to hold the lead for the last 2 laps.

On the last lap I was on fumes and spent most on FM6, watching my mirrors for the NSX.

Only managed to win by 4 seconds! He is very fast on those fresh Softs

825cr was a nice bonus. Along with the other 1m+ I have earned coming second and third and even 5th in my attempts.

I had a well earned beer afterwards!

With each update comes a new PP calculation so I will be working through my tunes to optimize them to the adjustments. So far this is still my favorite car for the Tokyo grind.

Enzo Tune

Another choice to easily win the Tokyo 600 race. Capable of 2:09 laps and could pull consistent 2:10-2:12 even with the track still wet. Total race time just under 27 minutes. Very predictable and easy to drive car.

Was finally after many hours of trying and learning able to win this. The car I used was a Subaru WRX Gr.B Road car with medium sport tires, High RPM turbo, racing crank shaft, and a manual transmission set to 320 km/h top speed. One pit stop after lap 6, change tires and a full tank of gas. Have to play with the fuel mapping a bit to make it last though. Came first with 6,7 seconds.

Finally won after a few hours of trying the Lambo Murcielago. Just couldn't get a setup that was stable and fast enough on SH. Finally decided to try the Aventador LP700-4 2011. SH ballast up to 1670kg to allow HP over 525, custom LSD racing clutch , racing gearbox set to auto 300kmh. And racing slotted brakes. Actually used Praianos tune for the Huracan for the diff settings. With all this didnt touch one wall and had plenty of speed on the straights. TCS 1 and Fuel 1 for all of first stint but this needs fuel saving on lap 5 then pit for Tires and Fuel managed to get the lead with 2 laps to go then Gallo pitted again. Massive fuel save for the last 2 laps map 6 and lift and coast to make it to the end but the lead was so far I still won by 9 seconds

I am able to win this race following Praiano's tunes:

  • GT-R '17
  • NSX '17

which are tuned for this Tokyo Expressway on wet road. Lap time is roughly between 2'14" to 2'18". Pit in 6th or 7th lap for new tires and gas. Total time under 28'05" is most likely a win.

The best time so far is 2:12.468 in a NSX '17, TCS 1, AT:

Two cars stand out for me for really fun and rewarding wins here.

Priano’s R34 on RH with less downforce, increased weight and more power (aim for 500pp and don’t be afraid to ballast up if need be). If you fuel mix 3 down the back you can pit on lap 7 and only need 2/3 tank so your stops are quick. My inlap is typically 2:35ish.

Or Priano’s 997 on RH which is more fuel efficient so I fuel mix 1 all the way. As above I increase power to c425bhp and add ballast to hit the PP.

Both are capable in my average hands of 2:12’s in the last few laps when you should have no traffic and the line is mainly dry.

The GTR tops out at 180mph so I lose a bit of time to Gallo and Susweillo on the straights but monster them down the back section. The 997 hits 192mph but needs a lighter touch in the corners and in the first few wet laps.

2 truly awesome cars that put a smile on my face and have different characteristics to suit what mood I am in.

I am typically completing the race in 27:40 to 27:45 total time if that helps you set a goal.

I forgot to mention I'm an automatic driver too 😄 maybe it's just me.... I tried Praiano's tune for the R33 specifically for the Toyko event and I think without any penalties I could finish top 4 (finished 8th or 9th with a overall 20 second penalty). I'm not the best GT driver but I'm not absolutely rubbish either 😄 (at least I don't think I am 😆). This event reminds me a little bit of the Mini challenge at Goodwood, I really struggled to win on hard difficulty in that event until I came across a tune which showed getting the LSD to a particular setting allowed you to add a few extra bhp which resulted in me winning the race. I'm definitely not giving up on this 😁 any help with the AM VGT would be greatly appreciated🙏
Praiano's tune of R33 is not updated for GT version 1.13. You may try the other two cars (NSX '17 & GT-R '17 tuned for Tokyo Ex PP600 in rain) which I found them easier to win.

I FINALLY won!!!:D using @praiano63 NSX 17 tune!!! THANK YOU!!!! @praiano63 your tune's are legit AMAZING!!! I think the key for me in winning (obviously additionally to Praiano tune) was not getting any early penalties. I got 1, 5 second penalty in lap 10 and still managed to win by 13 seconds. The persistence pays off!!:)

You are so right. It is not a 5 second penalty really… by the time you get to the end of the long straight, those 5 seconds of coasting have cost nearer 10.

Definitely the way to win is to hit the following times and in the first 3 laps to really tread carefully…

2:33-35 first lap
2:17ish second… watch the hairpin here, for some reason I need to brake 10m earlier than the first lap or the next few of I want to nail the apex
2:15s for 3-6
Pit on 7 with a 2:36-40 depending on fuel requirements
2:20 out lap
2:12’s if you can 2:11’s
Last lap manage fuel and even if you need to do a 2:18 you should still have 5-8 seconds on the fast catching Gallo

Those lap times sound about right, my finishing time was 27:48. I find the car behaves really oddly, for example after I pit the new tyres don't have the same grip as my old tyres, but after the out lap they seem to "warm up" and work perfectly fine. It's those little things that previously kept catching me out, and resulting in penalties and you're right it's not a 5 second penalty it end's up costing you around 7.5 to 10 seconds.

This will definitely do it. I had one penalty which removed my chance of a win, then got another the last lap because I was getting tired and ended up 4th. I'm still several seconds off a pace that would make 1st possible with a penalty. Great tune and strategy, thanks!!

911 Carrera RS CS Tune

My new favorite car to grind the Tokyo Expressway. Fantastic tune that offers superb handling and balance. Wonderful Porsche boxer exhaust note and an absolute pleasure to drive. Capable of 2:09 lap times and can hold consistent 2:10 laps towards the beginning with the track still wet. Total race time just under 27 minutes. Definitely a gas guzzler so pay attention to my tune guide of pitting at the end of lap 6 instead of the typical 7.

I think I won this with downtuned Lamborghini Aventador. Set gearbox max speed 300 kph, stiff suspension, medium rideheight and high downforce for wings. LSD to minimum. Brake bias one notch forward. Since track is bit slippery, I think I drove it with Sport Softs with one stop. Fuel was 3 or 4 lean.

Ran mapping on 1 the whole time. Pit at the end of lap 7. SM tires. For a car you can't tune at all, it's a blast to drive.

Been using the 911 '81 for this event. Sport mediums pit on lap 7 go for fastest lap lol.
Other cars won with delorean s2 no pit. Alpine 220 nice car!! 4wd are all good.
