if you guys are gonna talk about cover songs you got to mention Me First and The Gimmie Gimmies.

they're a band that does nothing but covers and they'll all from other punk bands. Fat Mike from nofx, Joey Cape from Lagwagon, someone from The Swingin' Utters.

they do so many cool songs. they have an album that's all showtunes, one that's r&b songs, some classics from the 50's and 60's.

they're a really cool band and they play all the songs in a faster uptempo beat.

My favorite new cover is Korn's Another Brick in the Wall. I have always been a Pink Floyd fan and I think that Korn did a mighty good job on this one. As I'm typing this Korn's Word Up came on the radio. Eerie. :scared:

Event Horizon
I also like Marylin Manson's cover of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. very good!

Ooh, I hated that. But then I love Depeche Mode and hate Marilyn Manson, so that's probably not a big surprise.

Depeche Mode have actually just released a Remix album, triple-CD of loads of their tracks from across their career. There are some real gems in there. I particularly like the DJ Shadow remix of Painkiller.

I like NWA - Express Yourself which used the tune and chorus from Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd St. Rhythm Band - Express Yourself; its sort of a cover.

Also I like the tune from the song Broken Wings (On Emotion 98.3 on GTA:VC) so I like the Tupac remix/cover of it. Who sung the song originally?

Wow, I thought it was one of the worst covers I've ever heard... I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan, and considered it quite an insult, to be honest... Then again, I'm not a big Korn fan...

If you want to hear a really good Pink Floyd Cover... Listen to:

Shadows Fall - Welcome to the Machine

I completely agree... I absolutely love Depeche Mode's version of the song, and despised Marilyn Mansons rendition... However, as you said I'm not a fan of Marilyn Manson at all...

;)

Any Korn remix is horrible. The worst is Lowrider.

I don't like any rendition of Personal Jesus really, but I'd probably prefer Depeche Mode's version, as I don't like Marylin Manson at all.

Tool - No Quarter

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

Best rock cover ever... Period... Expanding on the original while staying true to the mood and message that Led Zeppelin intended... Epic in scope, and performed with feverish passion and blinding intensity...

I don't like any rendition of Personal Jesus really

Johny Cash covered "Personal Jesus" and it wasn't so bad... Not as good as the original, but a decent cover nonetheless...

;)

You don't strike me as the kind of person that would listen to DJ Shadow. 👍

I love the remix of Sunglasses At Night by Tiga & Zyntherius. I also love the Aquagen remix of Hard To Say I'm Sorry. 👍 👍

The only remixes that I heard just sucked more than the original version. For example, the remix "Shout At the Devil ('97 Remix)" from Generation Swine sounds worst then the original on the 1983 Shout at the Devil

And Slayer's Criminially Insane, at least the version that I have (of Reign In Blood)has two extra tracks, one is Aggressive Perfector and the other is the remix of Criminally Insane.

Yeah, I don't know why they remixed Criminally Insane. It was very strange of them to do so. But that's my favourite Aggressive Perfector of the lot. Maybe because it's much better quality, but I like it better.

Tool - No Quarter and A Perfect Circle - Imagine

I can't say the latter really sounds like the original very much, but it's been "modernised" and to my ear sounds really nice.

You know I actually like Rusty Cage by Soundgarden...Jonny Cash sang it first and when I heard it the other day by him I couldn't believe it. I like the Soundgarden one a lot better.

Jimmy Enslashay
It's certainly a nice song. Hendrix is a great guitarist. Far outside what people would think I would listen to, but I do have a diverse taste in some ways.

Off-topic for a quick second...

I have very diverse taste. Don't tell anyone this, but I secretly like pop. :sly:

Back on-topic. Skinny Puppy did a remix of Tool's Stinkfist that I liked. It was different but still sounded liek the song.

I'm not a huge Korn fan either, but apparently big enough.

Original:
Nancy Sinatra/You Only Live Twice

Cover/Remix:
Robbie Williams/Millennium

That would be my favourite of all Soundgarden songs. I grew up listening to Soundgarden. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't mind some of their stuff.

Sorry to dig this up, but I'm really digging this soulful Vandross cover.

How this girl is unsigned is beyond me.

I have two of the best ones.

Cover:

Fear Factory - Digimortal

Remix Album:

Fear Factory - Fear Is The Mindkiller

Well put and period

I know this is from a long time ago but Digimortal isn't a cover.

The best cover I've heard is Machine Head's cover of Metallica's Battery. They stayed quite ture to the original and yet made it their own. Thats a cover.

I hate todays music but I find this acoustic cover of Umbrella to be way better than the original.

These covers are some of my favorites:

Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons

Reel Big Fish - Take On Me

Attaboy Skip - Ghost Chasing Science Guys (Ghostbusters)

Last video is of pretty bad quality, but that's what you get when someone takes a camera to a live show.

Marilyn Manson-Tainted Love

Marilyn Manson-This is Halloween

Marilyn Manson-Sweet Dreams

Marilyn Manson-I put a spell on you

Marilyn Manson-You spin me Round(Couldn't find a better video)

Marilyn Manson-Personal Jesus

....speaking of Led Zeppelin, the Frank Zappa cover to "stairway to heaven", in reggae...

That Zappa (The best best you've never heard) version is a great cover, but then again anything that Zappa covered was exceptional. Also Zappa did a great cover of The Beatles - I am the Walrus, coo coo ca-choo.

Another great cover is Ronnie James Dio & Yngwie Malmsteen doing Aerosmith's - Dream On.

Anther interesting cover is Type O Negative doing Summer Breeze, kinda creepy though.
