Biggest game-changing feature Polyphony could add to GT series?

Tyre wear. I think it would be one of the biggest changes to the series and how it is played as it would no longer be a simple case of choosing A, B or C when you start a medium to long race.

I think the 2.09 update gave the game the same kind of setting in the online lobbys

That's a bit rough...
I totally agree with you:tup:

He's done a good job from 1998 till 2004 (as far as I am concerned).👍

But GT5 was not a good representation of anything that PD has stood for. It's mostly a huge mess with some shining spots here and there.

The truth often hurts. :( But perhaps they'll bounce back and make a proper video game and not an open interview for Nissan racing. At the end, it's a damn game. A game, PD. A game.

The game should be like GT4 again. But with the features of GT5 ( weather, time, track editor etc..) + more new things.

I really don't like the level system and the b-spec mode. Also the home screen should be a map again. And of course alot more a-spec races like in GT4!

GTTV with live streaming online races. Available on every device (PC, tablet, mobile, Vita, PS4, etc).

That plus youtube upload would expand the GT community immensely.

A GT World Map! Kinda like Test Drive Hawaii version, but with real streets or a created map of miles of real world driving. Online of coarse, people could meet up and run theses car off track and enjoy some street racing, off roading, or whatever we want to do off track :D

Cars Needed

Mclaren P1
Koeniggsegg Agera R
Porshe 928 and the others. Ruf, Porshe, whatever
Mclaren F1 LM Edition
94 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 (why not)
Premium Plz

Cockpit
You should able to adjust the seat, I know you have you zoom and extra zoom but adjustable seats will help with track viewing out of windshield, dramatically :)

And and what happened to the Grand Canyon track? Did I miss something?

Thank you for the years of enjoyment! Won't stop, can't stop!

They should add: Motor Racing!

I've always wanted to go motor racing in a GT game, not just drive cars on tracks in fantasy events that bear no resemblance to anything in reality.

We need to be able to;

  • tune/practice & qualify for every race
  • have a proper flag system
  • have a race engineer communicating with you
  • have realistic penalties like drive throughs etc
  • have a stewards program (not knee jerk fantasy penalties)
  • have adjustable AI to suit our individual speed
  • race in teams offline (B-Spec driver as partner)
  • have championships with points tables like IRL
  • be limited to a budget for the season

Just add as many real world dynamics as possible to make the events more of a realistic motor racing experience instead of the fantasy drivel we have now. GT needs to grow up with it's audience imo, most of us like real motor sport so just add that. PD need look no further than the GT5 Online Competition forums here on GT Planet for inspiration, the events that most guys are running over there put their efforts to shame.

A move in this direction would be epic and I've been carping about this since the advent of GT5. Even a proper qualifying tree would be a dramatic improvement. For example, imagine if the host had the ability to set up a qualifying period of their own length? PD has the "driving simulation" part down pretty well, the graphics are very good, the last piece of the puzzle is getting the racing and competition part of the game down. Funny thing is, this should be the easiest thing to do since it's all logistics.

This would also work in PD's favour in terms of customer loyalty and extending the life of the game. I imagine many more people would still be playing the game if the features you mentioned were included.

To be the dominant console sim, Polyphony need only take the traits that other games/sims are superior in, and make theirs equal. When I play Forza, I am always thinking "Man, I WISH Gran Turismo did this". Nothing revolutionary, just fixing what is deficient. That's all I'd need. Can't wait for GT6!

When racing, it have to show me the difference between me and the guy in front of me not just the one in first place.

You know what would really make GT6 stand out for me? If it was more about modifying cars. I mean, GT has, traditionally, been more about the cars than the racing, with the "encyclopedia of cars" thing and so on. When i first laid my eyes on the screenshots of the High Performance G37, I got my hopes up that we'd be able to take a normal G37 and, bit by bit, transform it into such a car.

And I'm not talking about RMs here. I just want to be able to creeate such a car from a lot of availanle body modifications (which, of course, affect the performance accordingly) and build something new up from the ground.

It'd make GT somewhat unique again if I was able to actually build my own car. PD tried to get the whole "car ownership" vibe across with the maintenance and whatnot, so why not go the extra mile?

Every car and track that has ever been in a GT game. More original and real world tracks. More car choices, less variants of same car (Skyline, MX-5, RX-7, NSX, etc.)

No more Standard models, ALL PREMIUM.

Event Creator for online races. And more online room choices and features. Mute All feature so I don't have to hear everyone's dog barking and babies crying without going one by one muting individuals.

Car customization...paint, stickers, more body kit/wheel options, etc.

More professional race cars. Grand Am, NASCAR (Nationwide & Truck too), classics, Indy/F1 (if possible), etc.

Select all in the parts shop to save time if adding all parts.

Better sound, damage, AI.

...just to name a few; I'm sure I'll think of more.

If they are along the same lines as your wishlist, I wouldn't bother. The thread title says "game changing"...

Really? You would stop playing GT if it didn't completely blow your mind? Personally, as long as it gets better, I would love it. But I'm a true fan, just like nearly everyone who is a member of GTPlanet.

New PD leader.

I disagree. Kaz is a great leader IMO, perfectionist (like me 👍) and has made some great games (GT5 not the greatest). GT6, I'm almost sure, will be better than GT5. GT5 is just a starter to get us all hyped up....what they really need is a bigger team. :D

While no single thing would be truly game-changing, there are a few features which I think would help.

1) Day and night on ALL tracks-
Think about it. I know that people normally want day and night on famous tracks such as Spa and Suzuka. But can you imagine how cool SSR5 would be during the day, or to watch it switch from day to night, with the city's lights coming on as the sun goes down? That would truly be amazing.

2) In-race action-
Yellow flags, blown tires, debris, changing track temps, mechanical failures; all of these would keep the action high and make the game far more exciting.

3) AI-
If GT5 had F1 2012's AI.. That would be amazing. That's all that needs to be said about that.

There's tons of other things, but these would really escalate GT5 in my opinion.

I really hope the fact that PD does not hire enough people is not the main reason they don't do enough to the games they release. If that's the case, then Sony really needs to push them to get more talent. Don't hire people for the sake of it, but truly get the best talent possible.

Back to the issue at hand...I think it's the idea guys. There is too much good feedback, especially here. They just don't seem to listen. It's not really that hard.

That, sir, is an epic idea. Even if it were only for the playstation, this would be great.

This entire thread is packed with some of the best ideas, and I love how most of the commentors feel that the racing aspects are in need of the most improvement. Fantastic.

Great ideas. I'd like to see SSR5 in the daytime too.

New Features for GT6:

- Better Track Creator: Customize the tracks we make the way we want them to be.
- Make your own aerodynamic parts to the car of your choice.

- Used Cars with Premium looks.
- More offline events.
- GT6 Free Car of the month: Every month, the servers of GT6 will randomly select a car, and send it to everyone who owns GT6, for free once a month.
- Realistic Car sounds.
- No more versions of one car. (The Skylines' having multiple versions of themselves.)
- Having a max amount of 999,999,999 Cr.

Do I need to continue? (I hope PD takes a look at this Forum!) :)

Exactly, it would be the simplest things to implememt that would make it a better motor racing experience. Wanting qually & practice came 12th on the GT Planet Feedback forum, & I ran a poll regarding adding more motor sport elements back in March 2011 here.

No you do not need to continue. You are basically providing a request for GT6 to be like the franchise made by Turn 10. I like this. 👍

Some of these options arent limited to being in forza nor is it a request for gt6 to become forza.

More so a list of some improvements that forza and other games share.

Ability to "make" your own cars would be cool. Say for example taking a chassis from a M3 putting a Mustang front end, a Skyline rear end, choosing the drive train format such as FWD RWD AWD, choosing a transmission and being able to throw a Viper V10 in it. Would be cool to see what cars people come up with.

Please, no!!
