The Meijers store near me still has a collectors edition on the shelf.. i have been thinking about it lol. I want the chromeline cars but not for the price they want for everything haha

After getting incredibly frustrated by spinning out over and over again in my "brick-on-wheels" in the Supercar Nostalgia competition and spending about 500,000 on upgrades to one car and a completely new car, I realized that the tire requirement was not "Sports Hard" as I originally suspected. I changed tires and suddenly I won by like 5 seconds. D'oh!

What are your stupidest moments since you started playing GT5?
Βοught a 249k 300 SL for an event.(I had 483k credits(my cr. record back then...)) Then I found out that it couldn't compete!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Leading an online league race last night, clear of 2nd place by 20ish seconds, on the last lap, I touched the smallest piece of grass possible and spun, hitting a barrier, doing engine damage and giving away P1 and P2... limped to a third place finish. Sucked.

1. Decided to try the Formula GT Championship before my G27 wheel had arrived.
2. Struggling through the races sweating & cursing
3. Managed to lose on Nürnburgring even tho AI spins out at the end of the track
4a. Got to Suzuka
4b. Don't like the track, don't like the car, don't like the number of laps
4c. Retired from Suzuka (sure to get podium)

5. MISSED THE PODIUM BY 1 POINT!!!

So great! Now I have to do that awful championship again! (at least with a wheel this time)

Got 2 to choose from:
GT500 championship race at Monaco, last lap, easy 4th so it's powerslide time. I fried my tyres so much I couldn't move and dropped to 7th.
Did the Mazda MX5 4hr race, used racing softs to pull away. 30mins in I went to get something to eat and left it on to try and create an interesting finish. After my sandwich I had a coffee and in the time it took to make the AI got ~3 more laps on me and I finished 2 laps behind the winner.

8 odd hours into the 9 hours endurance, paused, switched off tv to go to shops...girlfriend at home sleeping..she woke up..and you know the rest

My biggest mistake was thinking i didn't rely on the racing line and turned it off for the first time in the dream car championship. i finished last in the first race and turned it back on.

that means you need to practice more :), I acctually never used in GT1-GT4 cuz didn´t existed. IN GT5 was stock and I turn it off. If you know well the brake points you drive better than with it. In old GTs I used just instinct to brake, but sometimes I was doing some mistakes (I was like 6 years old)

While online in a 50 lap Daytona race, I was doing well and had what I thought was enough fuel to make it to the end. Well, that changed when I was in draft traffic for 20 laps averaging about 1500 revs more than originaly. I burned my last drop 1 lap from the finish. I did the same thing in an FGT at Indy.

GRID taught me that but playing GT5 for first time I forgot it on, and now I can get rid of it. Well I never look at the braking line, but sometimes I took the driving line to do the best possible lap times, but I brake with my own skill. And often I don't even drive like the driving line says.

teecro
I don't remember what license test it was but, I had been struggling with it for awhile. On one run I KNEW I was going to be getting gold and out of habit of hitting start then restart repeatedly, my hands just automatically did it. Then came the long "nooooooo!":banghead: Not the worst that can happen but beyond frustrating.

Hope it wasnt IB-3 (long slalom). I would hurt something if that happened to me.

Biggest thing is that I havent bought Nismo R32 when it was in UCD so I could complete my Nismo cars collection, and now I've been waiting for it to appear for 2 months lol

For me it's staying up all night (on a school night) doing the Tsukuba 9 hours endurance, I fell asleep in school the next day, and got in trouble! :sly:

A bad idea indeed, can't wait to get the 24Hour ones!

i did the same thing then yelled at my teacher to "**** OFF AND LET ME SLEEP"
i got kicked out of class and yelled out by the principle told him i didnt care got suspended then took a nap
overall good day cause i got to sleep instead of do work

My latest blunder came on Tuesday. I was nearing the end of a race, and got an idea.... decided I wanted me a 'Within One Hundredth' trophy. Don't ask why, I guess I just consider them another collectible. Anyway, here I come out of the last turn at Seca & simply coast, blowing a sub 5sec lap in the process. In my mirror I saw the Xanavi coming like a bat outta hell, so i put the boot down. The margin under the flag was a mere .028!

Ended up with some shade of metallic blue. And wouldn't you know it, 3 races later at Eifel :dopey:

Indy 500 endurance. Used the Minolta. The PlayStation Network was down for 4 weeks at that time so i could not buy a FGT. That would have made things much easier.

It took me 2 tries to understand the following:
When using the Minolta you must pit at the end of lap 25 (the next pit at the end of lap 50 and so on). Under no circumstances sooner. The Pescarolo Judd GV5 only has to pit 4 times (every 44 laps).

And do not try to be cute during the last pit to not refuel to the max. Please don`t. For some reason the Minolta needs all the fuel for the last 25 laps. I was foaming at the mouth when i ran out of fuel on the 197th lap .....

i just made put 1000 BHP in my minotola makes the race easier and just as boring

I just did 6 races online around the ring using sport softs when everyone else was using racing softs without realizing... avgd 20-30 seconds off a lap and thought everyone else was an amazing driver...

I could never do that, I'm always on my best behavior!

Historic cup, Cote d'Azur. I was driving a Challenger RM (handling nightmare). Last lap. My DPF gets DC'd. RRRRRAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Well at least it was not my fault :P

Paused over halfway through an endurance race because I had an itch & accidentally pushed the cursor over restart as I hit X....doh! :ouch:

Thats a pretty easy one for me:

I can recommend an ultimate "try this".

Having just opened the 24hrs of Lemans, and wanting to jump in and complete it, not thinking (still in GT4 24hr mode) I grabbed my FGT car already setup for the track and proceeded.

I was about 3 to 4 hrs in when I realized, its getting darker.

Thats right boy, "the FGT doesn't have any lights".
You big Dummy.

It took quite a few spins and alot of trial and error, but I eventually turned a few decent laps. At least for driving in the dark.

I continued on and still won the race, but that night part was a real challenge.

I intented to do a race report on it, but I never got around to it.
The fact I felt pretty stupid, probably had an influence on that.

Haha good one

I didn't actualy do this on GT5, I did it on GT3 but I was doin a 100 lap endurance race of tokyo R264. I was on lap 98 and I acidently pulled up this plug for the PS2. God I freakin curse LOUD:censored: that sad emoticon face doesnt express my emotions enough

Tried to get the GT-R lap record trophy and I did before 7.29 seconds :).
The bad thing though was I put on racing hard tires instead of sports hard tires, now I have to do it all again!
