Biggest "I'm an idiot" thing you've done in GT5

The stupidest thing I've done was ramming the AI into the sand for a whole hour when I did the 24 hours of Le Mans. :)

Buying the Minolta in the OCD and winning it in an event only just a few hours later. It has happend before but this car was far too expensive for such bad luck. So it wasn't really stupid but not smart either.

Of I course I had the odd "quitting by accident 4 laps before the end of an endurance race".

But the one time I felt really stupid was this:

Young frenchy gets to Level 30 and thinks to himself: "alright, level 30, Vettel here I come!! I've read so much about that challenge, I'll nail it no problems. Careful driving, hyper agressive, turn before the corners. First one is Monza, big wide turns, easy. Got it."
Little did he know that he had to steer his way out of the pits. So the ghost car takes off, frenchy gives full revs on the X2010, excited as hell. 1.5 seconds later, he smashes the car into the pit wall a few meters from where he started. Gets a big "disqualified" sign in his face. Feels like an idiot.

For me it's staying up all night (on a school night) doing the Tsukuba 9 hours endurance, I fell asleep in school the next day, and got in trouble! :sly:

A bad idea indeed, can't wait to get the 24Hour ones!
It's supposed to be about what you did in GT5, not school...

When the Audi R8 race car appeared in the UCD, I didn't have enough money to buy it. So I did a few seasonals until the last remaining day I could buy it, and I was still around 800k short. So I had the really good idea to sell all the rally/touring cars I had recently bought from the OCD thinking I could just do a couple more seasonals and re-buy them.

When I got back to the OCD I slapped myself on the forehead, what an idiot :dunce: They can only be bought once... Wish I could pawn cars and buy them back later.

The worst thing is after a few more ingame days, it appeared in the UCD again :ouch:

I've had my controller cut off on me during the dream car nurburgring race. It was during the 1st lap near the *caroussel in my stock furai. I looked around the room quickly and spotted my brothers street fighter edition arcade controller sitting next to my chair. I'm thinking to myself "Oh, what the heck?" plug it in, and start racing.

20 minutes later i'm barreling out of the straights and crash near the end. i recover to finish 6th place.

I did exactly the same! :dopey:

Was expecting the AI to take control of my car till the end of the pitlane as the game starts slightly inside.

Gave it a little too much on the second to last corner, Sarthe, final lap of the Ferrari Seasonal. Spun off and lost out on 500 grand :( Was not happy!:grumpy:

Dammmmmmmmmmm................9 Hours Wasted :yuck:

Latest one for me ,thought ok i'll try the fiat 500 Seasonal Race bought a Fiat 500 Did the Oil Change 1 yes just ONE BHP over the Damm Limit :grumpy:
Then why did it allow me to participate with a 61 hp Fiat?

Bought an F10....worst mistake I ever made. Total waste of 10 million credits.

Out of interest, why is the F10 a waste of money? I'm currently trying to attain that car, so I'd like to know why people on here criticise it so much.

The most recent "I'm an idiot" thing I've done on GT5 is... I bought a Ferrari F40, then when I looked in my garage I found out I already owned one. :ouch:

You need one F40 stock and one tuned though.

Because the F1 '10 looks like crap.

I look the look of both but I figured I'd get it now then save up and get the F2007. But I read somewhere that that was the prize for completeing a Nurb 24HR. Didn't say A or Bspec though.

Ferrari f10 is prize for getting to a-spec level 40, f2007 isn't a prize car.

My biggest iddiot moment was thinking i could complete the vettel challenge with a DS3 :ouch: its not going to happen for me

Finishing the Vettle Challenge finally and leaping out my chair only to land on my turtle beach headset and breaking off a headphone. :(

And yes I leaped out of my chair for a video game, yeah I'm cool I know.

Hitting the handbrake in my S2000 while in the middle of beating everyone racing on the main straight on Tokyo Route 246 on the second lap in the Compact car race :dunce:, but atleast I won. 👍

And also when I want to get into another car to test/race against the A.I., I somehow think I'm already in the car because I'm looking at it in the garage, then I'm about to race until it shows the car, or I hear the engine of the previous car that I have mysterously "gotten out of" in the pre-race menu. :banghead: It always happen when I'm sleepy or tired.

Edit: my 150th post.
