Oh boy.
I really wanted to reach level 24 and buy a Formula GT car before the end of the day, so I did the Nascar series to get some XP. The Indy race was straightforward, and for the following race at Grand Valley I shortened the gear ratios and added a bit of downforce. It turns out that I didn't add enough and I spun and crashed at the end of the first lap.
So I restarted the series, skipped Indy (since I won there already), set the car to maximum downforce and won at Grand Valley, High Speed Ring, and Laguna. The final race at Daytona beckoned. I brought the downforce back to a minimum, started the race, went for the lead, and by the time I got to the back straight I realised my gear ratios were still short!

Needless to say, I dropped back to last, quit the race, and lost the championship.
I restarted again, won Indy, skipped Grand Valley to save time, then won at High Speed Ring and Laguna. Of course, for the Daytona race I remembered to set my downforce AND my gear ratios to a high speed configuration. The race began, I stormed to first, and just as the first lap was finishing the Allmendinger car tipped into the wall and my car flipped. Game over.
After the disappointment and shock from that crash subsided, I did the Daytona race by itself. At the first couple attempts the AI kept spinning and flipping me.

So after that I made sure to stick to the inside line and avoid the AI. At my third attempt I dropped from 1st to 4th at the finish line, and after shortening my gears by a click, I won at the 4th attempt.
I still hadn't won the Nascar championship thanks to my silly habit of skipping races

, but all that racing got me up to level 24, so now I could buy my FGT.
