Biggest "I'm an idiot" thing you've done in GT5

Doing the Ferrari race in professional after trying to win countless times after spending a s*** load of money on fully modifying a 430 Scuderia I was in first place in which I thought was the last lap so in happiness I pressed the handbrake and did a doughnut while crossing the finish line only to realise it was the second last lap :|

did the excact same thing on gt 3-4 but one lap from the end of the g/v endurance race :(

Entered an online race, Nurburgring - Change Time, in my Chapparal 2J.

Bad choice.

3 minutes in I couldn't see where I was going... It has no lights. >.<

Another "idiot moment" Ive had wasnt in GT5 but rather from just playing it soo much. I havea G27 and a couple times when driving to and from work Ive tried to shift into 6th gear, only to remember my car is a 5 speed. Or the other day I went to back up and tried pushing down on the gear selector, when on my car I have to pull up on a sleeve and put it by 1st gear.

Dude, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

It's almost as bad as the Grand Theft Auto syndrome where I accidentally carjack people before realizing that it's not a game...no, I don't actually do that, but I do THINK about it!

Printing out all the tuning details for my cars using the office printer, and left 2 sheets in the printing tray all day face up saying " C63 Aero: Rear 20 Tranny 217 LSD torque 60.......soft racing tire:)" I wonder how many of my colleagues and directors had seen this while picking up their print jobs, and guessing whos video game strategy guide is this.....not to mention the fact that I am the only 20 yo kid in my office which makes it even more obvious.

One of "BLond" moments was fully pimping my Mini to enter in the British Lightweights event ,totaly forgetting the new Mini's are German

Cursing Bob for not being able to win a race, then checking the tires and noticing he was driving on comfort.

But my best is still on the Sambabus challenge: after some 60 minutes trying to get gold, and getting DQ because of touching the grass or being bumped, I finally find myself leading the race just after the Followthrough, with 2 corners to go.
So I say to myself, "let's take this corner with style", I brake as late as I can and try to hit the perfect apex, maybe with some light oversteering for maximum replay value. I must have forgot I was driving the Sambabus, because I found myself a few inches in the grass, disqualified. :grumpy:

Going on facebook and doing the whole "take it to the track" application to get the XJ13 to compete in the Historic Car Cup. Then spending thousands upon thousands on modifying it, only to find that chromeline cars can't compete in these challenges because they are apparently not from any year in particular.

Learning nothing from this experience, I then grabbed the Shelby Cobra Chromeline from my garage (I forgot it was Chromeline) and did all of the upgrades spending heaps of credits again, only to realise that this too cannot compete in the historic car cup.

I must be an idiot.

Now whats funny is you cant enter the original Mini, game thinks it's from German too!

In the early part of game, i bought Fiat 500 (the premium one) cause I had kind of nostalgia on that car, so i decided to use it in some classic cup (i think its the first classic cup in game).
I spent all my money (around) 200000 on every upgrade possible, after which it had whooping 80HP.

And imagine my shock/dissapointment when i started race. As the countdown finished, the little thing started shifting gears like crazy, like a race car, but it still wasn't egnough as the other cars where beating me on acceleration, it just looked ridicilous :D And the 100kmh top speed (which i tweaked later) didn't helped too.

Later, after some tweaking i actually managed to win with it, after a few dozen tries.

dancing (swerving left to right) going about 240 mph in the first endurance race on the long straight and smacked the curled part at end of the metal pole that surrounds the pit and smashed the front end of my car so bad

1) bought Ferrari F-40 while i have already one in my garage and then i won another 1 free in the B spec to end up with 3X Ferrari F 40.:grumpy:
2) almost bought Audi Quattro while its in the reward list :)
3) during the birthday glitch successfully transfer 1 car only (mazda 110s 67) after spending few hours preparing excel sheet to find out which year i should start from :ouch:

the 3Xferrari F-40 cannot be sold
you can receive the Mazda for free as a reward

I was in 1st position in the last race of the FGT championship. Because of the points differnece I didnt have to do the last race so I retired from the championship. D'oh what I should have done was begin the last race and then retired. Oh well I guess I will have to do it all again sometime.

>Doing the GT World Tour championship with my stock RM'd ZR1
>Break traction everywhere, drifting at every corner
>Keep getting pooped on by JGTC NSX's at every race
>Finish 4th in championship
>Tire menu say I have Sports hard equipped
>mfw i have to do the whole championship over again

I was on the very last race of the NASCAR Championship and was 1st place on the 8th Lap... a car was trying to overtake me and i went to block...

Biggest GT5 mistake (apart from racing in a 458 (tuned up to the balls) in comfort tyres and wonder why I can't keep up with a F430)...

I ended up spinning into the pit lane and after all that finishing 12th and a lap behind...

On the plus side I still came top of the championship :)

I know this isn't GT5, but in a 10 race series, in the last race my stupid sister grabbed my controller and I had to start the whole damn thing over again! I hate that little ***! (GT4)

I did the same exact thing Sunday morning around 2 am. I then just sat there cursing at my tv for 5 minutes and went to bed.

I got all gold for each race in GT World Championship and got no prize. Then I realized that I should have entered the Championship. Had to do it all again, at least I got more money and xp ;-p

Dude, even if you didn't deliberately block, chances are you will get mugged somehow anyway...I won all of the other races pretty easily but that last one is in a different league. I do find it challenging but on the rare occasions i've managed to keep up with the pack and not simply duelled with the last place car for a lap, and even got to the front, it seldom seems to last for long :grumpy:

Have the same problem with the last Jeff Gordon test, it's hard work, though perhaps cause i'm on a controller.

Ah big "i'm an idiot" thing just now, my Bob is working through the Dream Car Championship, but forgot if you put on rain tyres for a race, they stay on for the next race (which is a little bizarre if you think about it). Slipped to the back of the field almost immediately, pitted at the end of the first lap but oddly so did all the AI cars too!
