You know, I love living in California but CARB is making me want to :banghead:

I want to get an X pipe and I thought I'd be safe with an After-Cat X-Pipe but a friend told me he thinks if the midpipe is modified at all it won't pass smog. So I look at CARBs website and sure enough there's no Ford cars 2007-Present that have an Executive Order for aftermarket parts. Frustrating! :grumpy:

Bored so cleaned up the first post and added mods wish list.

Small addition, installed the shift knob I ordered from Grabber Pony a couple of days ago.

Crappy phone picture:

Of course that song was playing when I take the picture. :dunce: If anyone deems that NSFW just let me know and i'll take it down.

I love Cali but would never live there, specifically for that reason. ^^^

Yeah it's a real bummer. The exhaust i'm going to get should satisfy me. I could get an O/R if I really wanted to. I just need to be willing to put the stock stuff back on once its time for a smog check. Which would be years down the road but, I don't think it's worth it.

Nice 5.0 Black. 👍

Thanks man. :) I like your car too. ;)

No set time really but hopefully sometime this year.

Yes I am a sucker for black wheels. :D

Blackbird,
Here is some S/C noise for you. My son and some of his friends shot this the other night.

Now that's a whine. I want the Vortech but I also want a whine too. If I get the Vortech I just won't get that sound. But the Vortech will get me a claimed 605hp. While the Whipple claims 525hp.

Here's a quick video I just did right now. It's just axle-backs so it doesn't sound too crazy. Plus the video doesn't do it justice after hearing what it sounded like. But don't most videos do that? ;)

I think i'm going to pull the trigger on the Steeda CAI along with their 91 octane tune. CARB be damned! :D

In other news: I'm currently having a dispute with Ford over a paint defect on the hood. They won't authorize the work because of two retarded reasons they've come up with so far. First they claimed the hood was not original. :dunce: The next day they dropped that baseless accusation and now saying it's a result of bird droppings. Some how other places I know have been hit by bird crap don't show the same issues. I'm not backing down until this is fixed. Will keep the thread updated.

I like the sound, like to hear it under load, get someone and do a drive by. As for the paint problem, try to get to the regional rep, dealers pull that crap (no pun intended) all the time.

I'll have to do that. I didn't rev it too high/much because I didn't want to annoy the neighbors. It's louder than it sounds on camera.

I'm guessing whipple is 525whp while vortech is 605hp at the crank.
Wouldn't be surprised if whipple was running a bigger pulley/lower boost as well.

Awesome, what kind of power will you get?

Well they advertise their 93 octane tune. In conjunction with the CAI they get gains up to 44hp. While with the 91 octane the Steeda guy I spoke to said the 91 is about 3 to 4 less. I forget the torque numbers off the top of my head. So a pretty good bump in power for plugging something in and a bolt on. 👍 I haven't done a baseline dyno run but I think alot of stock 2011s were getting like 360-370whp.

I'm sure 525whp is more than enough for me.

CAI came in yesterday but no tuner. Havent gotten a response from Steeda but other members on a forum are saying they usually ship seperate because they have to program the tuner. I just wasn't told this at all on the phone so more waiting and no install.

Well I got it installed. I got the tune in and the lope sounds awesome, but on top of that the power increase is great! Thing is more of a beast than it already was. :D

Just after I finished:

I had a clip of it idling on my phone but it's not great so I didn't bother uploading it.

Good looking car! I see a lot of people doing the Saleen grille swap/ Boss 302 splitter combo. Wondering if you're going that same route too.

I was thinking about the saleen grill or the roush grill. But right now it's low priority compared to the other things I want to do. But maybe in the future! As far as splitters are concerned every setup i've seen i'm not too keen on so I don't think I will be doing that. ;)

Thank you! :)
